    Yahoo! We're back!!

It was bad timing, inasmuch as I wanted to post a meme of a head exploding after we learned that Price will be exposed. Oh well.

If you're the Kraken, you don't waste a pick on Danault. You wait and sign him as a UFA.

As for Price, either MB has assurances from Francis that they have no interest in #31, or he is rolling the dice. I can certainly see Seattle passing on Price, but I can also see them being attracted by his star power from a marketing POV; and he still has the chops to win big games for your team.

One thing about Bergevin, he has certainly given many of the posters on this site what we said we wanted. Price and Weber, EXPOSED. Danault, left to the open market rather than re-signed to a bloated deal.

Never a dull moment in habsland!!

I think you meant "Never a dull moment in habs world" ;)

Exciting Summer so far for us fans.. Stanley Cup finals, expansion draft, exhibition draft, UFA, trades..

With the Covid related stress and the long playoff run, I am sure Bergevin and his team are in need of a long vacation. That will have to wait!

  3. We'll perform a forum upgrade tonight. Let me know if there's any feature missing or not working. Hoping this resolves some of the access instability that some of you encountered lately.

Lately I get a page not found warning... (it looks the same as if I'm not connected to the internet at all).

Then i hit refresh once or twice and the site loads.

Thanks for the reports. I'll update the forum to the latest software version when it's released later this week.

Also glad to hear some of you are addicted to the forums. I'll start to charge you guys ;) kidding

No.  He didn't play well in Arizona the last couple of years, didn't play well in Chicago after they traded for him, and there are attitude concerns as well.  He's not going to be good enough to play in the top six and his weaknesses make him too much of a liability to play in the bottom six.  I think going to the KHL would be the best move for him to be honest.

    Duclair - Drouin connection

I love the idea of Lehks and Drouin playing together... prefer Galchenyuk between them though.

Pacs and Drouin have been spending a lot of time training together in the off-season so I wouldnt be surprised to see those two start together.

Same here, I think Lekhonen has the smart and speed to keep up with Drouin.

Lots of interesting lines combination in this thread. The truth is that combinations change a lot in the season , if not during a game. We'll end seeing most of them.

The lines will revolved around duos that click. The 3rd guy will shuffle depending of the opposition. As @Zowpeb said, I see Hemsky playing on the top 2 lines. Maybe not for 20 min/game but that's where he can be effective. Playing a couple shift on a top line, then seeing Shaw play one to add intensity.

Duos I look forward to see:

Plekanec - Hemsky (we've been waiting for that duo for more than a decade)

    Drouin - Lekhonen

    Drouin - Galchenyuk

    Drouin - Pacioretty

If Pacioretty and Drouin develop indeed a good chemistry it would be very promising. Finally a real first line?

  7. Forum software maintenance & upgrade

The forum has been updated to the latest version, which should help improve performance and block the bots/spam we were receiving.

There seem to be some visual changes. dlbalr will certainly tweak it later this week to make it more Habs-like.

If you see anything not working, suggestions of things that can be improved let us know here.

    Go Habs !

I gave up on that a while ago.  He's too inconsistent to really be relied upon long-term.  He's a 4/5 on average but even if he plays in a #4 role, I don't think he'll have the impact many were expecting (or hoping for) just a couple of years ago.

He should stop thinking he is Letang or Karlson because he is not. He has some great abilities though. Not the whole package but he should develop his play around his strengths.

  9. Impressive that Jonathan Quick singled him out - he's not a goalie that sees a lot of Pacioretty, yet Max seems to have made a huge impression on him. Quick is probably speaking for a large constituency of NHL goaltenders.

WHY is Max Pac so under-rated? It's not like he plays in a low-profile market. I can only assume it's because player worth is now linked to contract size. Sad, really.

Yes until you consider both are from Connecticut. Can you name another NHL player from Connecticut ?

    Nice compliment still.

  10. Still early in the Summer and training camp is a long way, but anyone here ready to predict Semin will get more points than Patches this season?

Sure we don't know Patches' extent of injury, but that's part of the guessing game ;)

I feel like it's a hit or miss and I tend to think our PP can't get worse. It's safe to say Semin should really help the PP and it's also safe to say any player on a 1-yr deal tend to perform well. He's also only 31 so baring injuries, he should perform. My prediction would be that Semin will get more pts than our scoring leader from last season!

    Semin 74GP 31G 42A 73P
