  1. Best comparable I can think of is Phil Kessel. Elite level scorer who needs to not be "The guy". Kessel got 7 a few years back now. Not sure what this would mean for Pacioretty.
  2. Hey all, just wondering if there's a preferred format from the post games which have been used this week? Thanks! Kevin
  3. Hi all, I want to try a few different formats in terms of possibilities for the post game blogs. I went with the usual 3 stars format last night, and will be sending out an "observation blog" Wednesday night. If there are any suggestions of other formats people may like to see, or comments on which format you may prefer for the post games once the regular season starts, leave them here and they will be considered before a final decision is made. Thank you. Kevin
  4. Lots of things to consider regarding Danault. This is why I said that the judgment on him is premature. Not necessarily wrong, just premature. To me, you give him a full season with any of Lehkonen, Pacioretty, Drouin, Galchenyuk, Gallagher on his wing before deciding where he "belongs" on the roster. If nothing happens between now and October (and boy does that seem likely now), I wonder if either of Galchenyuk or Drouin will be able to take the top center position and run with it. It has to be what Bergevin is gambling on to be this quiet...
  5. The term argument is likely the best one to dislike Shaw. I just think that if he plays this season like he ended the last, there won't be much complaining about it until he stops playing that way. I think this assessment of Danault might be premature. Remember that Danault was playing in his first full NHL season as a top line center. I think he can be a very capable 2nd pivot given the right line mates. He's not overly skilled but he's fast and he's not afraid to go get the pucks in the corners to distribute to the skilled players. AND he's responsible... With a bit of time to adjust to the role (which was last year), I think he could surprise us and be a capable in that position.
  6. I think before going nuts on Shaw, consider how he played once Julien got here. If can play like that all season, I don't anyone will be complaining about that deal by next summer. OR, he really only gets going close to playoff time and then he's slightly overpaid. As for the Hemsky, I really don't see the point of even considering him in the top 6. Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Drouin (27-72 interchangeable) Lehkonen-Danault-Gallagher Byron-Plekanec-Hemsky Shaw-Mitchell-Martinsen/McCarron
  7. This is pretty logical. The detail that gets me with this rumour time and again though is the Montreal having to add to get this done. As was mentioned by Don: Straight up, for the reasons you mention, ok. Personally don't love it, but I get it. If we have to add... PASS!
  8. Might be a pretty intelligent reason why Bergevin is sitting on his 9M. That and the pipe dream that is Tavares, but if RNH can be a plan B, the summer of 2018 could be a very positive one in Montreal
  9. Don't want to be a jerk on my first post on these boards, but why would we trade a Galchenyuk for Duchene when Duchene is an optimistic 60+ pts guy who can win draws but can't play defensive center, for Galchenyuk who is an optimistic 70+ pts guy who can't win draws and can't play defensive center... especially if we have to add to that deal?
  10. Hi folks, first time poster. I would expect Byron to be a nice addition such a package, I would also expect to have to include a D prospect... likely one just drafted since Juulsen is too much in this case, and then another pick.
