  1. Roy will get a serious serious look in the top 6, if he continues to trend and develop in Laval at this rate. I dont think we are making a splash in UFA market. I think we will trade for a forward.
  2. I thought he coasted a little too much in this game... hes a big boy and can skate, so I'd like to see him press a bit more and keep those feet moving and two hands on his stick more often away from the puck. But LY to TY is already night and day after just 5 games.
  3. I dont know... only 3 goals surrendered 5on5 after 5 games... sounds like all time best to me
  4. I'm willing to bet we re-sign him again unless he proves to rich and prices himself out of Montreal's grand plan
  5. What character he brings to the skills he possess is what I say to that... a warrior
  6. End of the day, he's worth way more than just a late 1st rd pick, particularly for this young team. On top of that, we already secured a 1st rd asset when we acquired him and he'll be valuable at the end of a 3/4 year deal. I really think Hughes is going to re-sign him again. Why would we want to trade him... hes freakin a really good player. Even those 25 games last year... he was great. Its Dvorak who gets shipped out
  7. Pearson's smarts is growing on me more each game. Slav is really starting to look good as well. I feel like if he can bag a couple goals or make some key plays soon his confidence is gonna sky rocket
  8. Yes 2019/20Calgary played only 70 games.... he actually played the whole season Teams played between 68-71 depending when the season was called for them. 2021 he played 50 of 56 In total he missed 23 games in 8 seasons before missing 74 games in his last 2 seasons 54 of which was with Habs.
  9. Timing is everything as well, and seems the pass comes late, is sometimes off the mark... and definitely used way to often
  10. I think its about who's QB'ing and from where on the ice. That's why I would want to switch Suzuki for Slav and his right side one timer (first team PP will help his progression and confidence),as well as give Matheson two one timer options from both sides of the ice. Suzuki and Caufield left side one timer and bumper. Monahan circulating out of both corners. It also gives us the option of walking off the Wall into the slot both sides of the ice now and doesn't really change passing lanes but in fact opens more lanes up. With Suzuki on the right, he usually walks down the wall to shoot a wrister (which is less effective) or find a passing lane. Options are endless this way... Again, see TB as the poster team for this... and I think we have these tools. Copy and paste their players
  11. Hes looked great... controlling play... personally the points are indicative of his play overall and early progression.... and he's even left some points off the board. If he doesn't tail off, its only a matter of time. Especially if the Habs can stay in the hunt in the first half of season.
  12. Slingshot is a huge issue... it was slightly more effective vs Wash but is still a mess. Once they do gain the zone, they have improved with puck and palyer movement. Faceoff win% has been strong so far overall which goes a long way. I still think the next decision ro be made is removing Anderson for Slav on first unit and to play on the right boards for Suzuki and move Suzuki to bumper role ala Point or even Caufield there and let Suzuki play the left side one timer. We need a one timer option on both sides personally. Matheson up top and Monahan low.
  13. This is not true... Monahan 2013 79 games 2014 81 games 2015 81 games 2016 82 games 2017 74 games 2018 78 games 2019 70 games 2020 50 games (hip injury) 2021 65 games other hip 2022 25 games (broken foot) Currently 4 games played
  14. I would of rather Dach get injured later then his core NHL developmental years and miss time between age 19-21. Not concerned with him coming back from this knee injury at all. Still no word on what procedure they chose and if there was any meniscus damage. As that will change his recovery program and timeline.
  15. Does he though? Dach is shelved again for the season and for basically the 3rd season in a row now... nobody said this of Monahan until he had his hips worked on and broke a foot LY. Monahan is like playing with house money, and I'm for holding onto the money for at least 1 more season after this. Of course if a "Knock your socks off" offer was on the table... that is a different story. But getting a 24-32th pick only? Personally I think Monahan at 29YRS old is worth more signed and supporting the kids then the 1st rounder we would exchange him for.
  16. With Dach out for the season... if he stays healthy, im of the opinion there is almost zero chance he gets moved unless of course we are bottom feeders by January.
  17. If he remains healthy, I would like him resigned as an insurance plan to situations like the one we are in currently with Dach out for the season
  18. How many picks do we need though really? With another 22 on the way in the next 2 off-seasons and a 50 contract threshold? We are quickly coming up to the borderline of having to start leveraging some of these assets before losing them...
  19. I think your close to bang on here. I do believe though if he can play over 70 games this year we have him at a steal rate and a 3 year deal is very, very likely wherever he does land.
  20. I for one think newhook or Slav should be on right side of first wave. We need that one timer on both sides with Matheson on top
