Now that we beat NJ (and more importantly the WAY we did), there's nobody out there who scares me that much.....I just like the way our all-of-a-sudden mobile "D" is moving the puck out of our zone, and how the opposition "D" is backing in so much vs our speed that our forwards can & are being more & more creative at their blue line ................ Make room for me on the bus!!

Great comeback tonight!!.........We got behind because we were trying to "out-trap" the Devils, the magna cum laude of the trap theory...........We came back because our "D" finally started pinching in and our forwards started hitting their defencemen to free up the puck to create chances and draw penalties......

agreed....and Higgins was playing better w/ryder & laps....alternate smolinski w/TK on the 4th line centre until we can unload him....put dandy back on right wing where he can use his speed (he looks lost on the left side) .....Begin back on LW A. Kost/Plex/Kovy Gui/Koivu/S, Kost Higgins/Max/Ryder Begin/Smokes (or TK)/Dandy

Getting sick & tired of all the media hype (in both languages) about possible deals...........Before we started trading the farm for rentals we need to re-evaluate what we have an excess of and what we need....... Those out there that want to move our Captain have absolutely no clue.....Saku Koivu is the heart & soul of this team.....He is the most revered by all the players....what message are we sending to the other players by trading the face of the current franchise?.....Yes it seems like he has taken a step back as Kovy's line has been awesome this year; but for the most part we are winning, and we really haven't needed the production from too many others as we are one of the higher scoring teams.....He's our #1 choice in the faceoff circle for key draws.... Anyone of the other 29 teams would love this guy in their lineup.........Have you thought about WHY Sutter wants a guy like Koivu?.......I know it's fun to speculate who we can get for player A or player B , let's not be too hasty...............WE ARE NOT DOING THAT BAD!!

Why not give Dandy a chance?....... he played there for one period on Thursday and didn't look out of place.

After reading through most of this thread, I checked the standings to see if we were indeed last in our conference ...........GUESS WHAT ? WE ARE NOT!.........OK, so we've slipped lately....... Why can't Ryder hit the side of a barn? .......we haven't won 1 fight all year so do we need a goon?...........Latendresse can't stand up on his skates, are his skates defective?..........Our "D" is getting forechecked to death, why can't they just clear the puck off the boards?........why do we keep making those long stretch passes (that never work!) during our powerplays as of late? All good questions. I was watching Buffalo's PP the last 2 games, and all they did was have 2 of their forwards stand in front of our goalies and just shot the puck from the point.......simple hockey; they know that our D plays a passive zone, so they just flooded it and came away with 3 PP goals......Remember we beat them the first 2 times we played them, and they did not do this; Ruff made the appropriate adjustments; kudos to him..........I think we need to learn from them and get back to playing sound fundamental hockey.......it's way too early for the kind of changes many on this board are calling for.....Carbo, Muller, Jarvis & Gainey are intelligent enough to figure out what tweaking needs to be done. PLEASE LET US NOT REGRESS TO BASHING EACH OTHER CAUSE WE CAN'T BE THE COACH OR GM! GHG!!

Habs 4 (Ryder 2, ####, Higgins) Sens 2 GHG!!!

Not a big Lats fan, but give the kid a break........just cause he's a step or 2 behind his linemates, he still does serve a useful purpose on the PP by positioning himself in front of the net.....How do you think Plex got that nice juicy rebound off Ward from the point shot --> deflection by Lats on the way in changed the angle .........on top of that he's becoming more physical on the opposition D..........AK46 has to realize that he's way too tentative with the puck.........great hands, but this game is much faster than the AHL: gotta keep moving forward....I also think Grabs has been showing much greater hustle than AK46 (since moving to the wing). On a team note, I notice that the Habs are starting to actually forecheck for a change instead of waiting back to trap; this is effective against teams like the 'Canes & the Pens because of their slow moving defencemen; I'm anxious to see if they can pull it off against teams like the Sens.............GHG!!

In keeping with the spirit of the season, I'll predict "Boo"uillon get his first of the year!

Hopefully we'll get more than just 1 PP opportunity this time..........(I can see why teams last year were complaining that the 'Pens were being given carte blanche by betman & the refs.) Habs 5 (Higgins 2, Begin, ####, Smokes) Canes 2 GHG!!

I have a feeling that Grabs, Breezer, and Murray will all be scratches vs Carolina: Koivu/Ryder/Kovalev Higgins/Plex/Kostitsyn Smolinski/Latendresse/Kotsopoulos Chips/Begin/Dandy Markov/Komi Hamrlik/Streit Cube/Gorges jmo.............GHG!!

We still haven't addressed our need for scoring...........I'd like to see the Habs go after the other Kozlov (Atlanta's)...that guy is all over the ice but unlike Sammy he has a little bite in his game.......he's an excellent playmaker and just might fit in w/Kovy...........he is at the very least a 2nd line player who can score..........jmo
