  1. ok enuff of this i am mano macho man dah dah pretty presumptuous about the playoffs aren't we
  2. Ill believe it when i see it, stand pat Bob never does the right thing
  3. ummm how many girls call themselves strummer man
  4. did you have to log me off because of caplocks sheesh
  5. OK SORRY JUMPED INTO THIS LATE I KNOW THE SECOND ONE TOM JOHNSON
  6. Well at least you dream well about going deep in the playoffs lol
  7. Wasn't I supposed to ask the next question- anyways I know the answer to this too but I won't bother
  8. Frankly at this point I think Gainey has 2 alternatives, either sign Souray before the trade deadline or trade him before. All signs are that Souray wants out. It would be absolutely foolish not to trade him. The habs are going nowhere this year unless a miracle happens. You never know if they make the playoffs look at last year's Oilers, but I doubt they have the players to pull off a miracle. The other thing is that if we listen to some of the posters in here that we will get nothing for Souray of any value, then it is better to hold on to him till the end of the year. As I have noted I think they are wrong, we can get something valuable if not to the extent of what was gotten for Forsberg but pretty close. I have wondered that as well. I see some positives and negatives. He is a big body that would be hard to move in front of the opposing net. However, I doubt his skills lie in a quick release. He needs space to wind up and fire and that is not suited in close quarters in front of the net.
  9. The joke's on you Ribeiro got 2 goals tonight
  10. I remember way back in the 70's whenever Id miss a game on tv the habs would lose. I remember one year I only missed 8 games..
  11. The habs didnt play badly tonight. However, I think it may be over after the loss to the Hurricanes. I feel more sorry for the fans who fill the arena every night and their team won't even make the playoffs. Meanwhile the Devils can only muster 7000 fans and they got a team that contends for a Stanley Cup year after year. Life is not fair
  12. The magic word is powerplay, the Hurricanes had 2 powerplay goals. In the new NHL powerplay execution is what counts. At the end of December the Canadiens had a minus overall in +- and were fourth overall in their Division. It was their powerplay that made the difference and one Sheldon Souray
  13. Now there I totally agree about Luongo- Sheesh Bertuzzi for luongo when I heard that I almost screamed where are you Bob Gainey??? I have already posted in other threads we should give up on Souray and markov for top draft picks. I don't agree about the young players on this team though. Higgins has shown a lot in 2 years. Latendresse is having a decent start. Plekanec is starting to show his mettle. Even Perez Im not ready to give up on.Komisarek has been pretty steady all year. They won't show the flash of Crosby or Malkin but I think some of them may improve drastically in the next few years. The thing with youth, they have an upside. The veterans are only going downhill.
  14. I hope you think as little of me as I think of you. As for Souray being a second line or third line defenceman, you are obviously lost in the old NHL. Look at tonight's game. What made the difference? the Powerplay? Souray is invaluable as a powerplay quarterback with a lethal shot. That is why you would never be hired in the new NHL as even a waterboy. Defencemen with 20 goals are few and far between Anyways other than that have a good night.
  15. I have been brutally attacked in another thread for proposing Vlasik and Carle for Souray and a draft chocie. Please no more tiny centers please please
  16. Ill give you a break since you put that Kovy attack in perspective in the other thread
  17. Actually I wasnt even referring to you if you had bothered reading the next few posts but apparently you are limited in the number of words you can read. Frankly after your personal diatribe against me and your monosyllabic diatribe may I add, I do not think my intellect should be involved in retorting to your paranoic claims and juvenile prepubescent taunts thanks for your important opinion(bozo)
  18. no let's keep Koivu he is only gonna get better when he hits 32
  19. Id rather have him lead me to the third round which he has never done- Id trade Thornton for Koivu faster then the speed of light go ask Boston fans and management after the fact wrong wrong wrong
  20. At the time the first line was working well it was the second line that was sucking. Anyways if he played at yale which is the equivalent of junior hockey at center I see no great problem in playing there. He obviously has the speed to play center,
  21. uh huh tell me when Saint Koivu Mr clutch has won anything either individually or as a team
  22. is there an echo in the room lol, but I did forget it was lang and not Jagr- damn that Penguin team was loaded Lang Kovy Straka Lemieux Jagr, too bad they faced Hasek and got eliminated, I bet they would have won the Cup if not for Hasek
  23. I was talking about Jetssniper an admitted Habs hater as for the glint in my father's eye I remember seeing Beliveau play and your a disgrace using his id and dishing on Souray.
  24. I remember he played center for the USA juniors in the world tournament and he played center for Yale Your analysis is weird. I never compared the youth of Montreal with the Pens. I just said we should build with youth and we do have a strong nucleus. Obviously none of the youth in our system were a first pick overall or in the top 5. Cannot underestimate young legs though. No one will give you a number one center for Saint Koivu cause he is past his prime and his record proves he has never been there in the clutch.
