  1. Tanguay had some ridiculous expectations attached to him when he got traded here. The way people described that his offensive game was going to explode in Montreal implied something along the lines that he was gonna score 100+ points.
  2. Saku Koivu, now HE'S OVERRATED ! Nah, I'm kidding. Just wanted to piss off Colin a bit. IMO the most overrated players that the Habs have right now might be Weber. As weird as it sounds, I'm just throwing his name out there because he hasn't played an NHL game and many Habs fans (not pointing out anyone of these boards, just the general belief from the people I've spoken too) make him sound like the next Brian Leetch.
  3. I had a feeling I was wrong. Thanks for the info Mr. Kozed.
  4. Let's hope he can keep it up. He has the skills but sometimes, the guy just disappears.
  5. Florida in what seems to be considered a 2nd round steal. Edit: Typo
  6. Of course, Yandle can run a PP QB. Gorges can't. +1 Yandle.
  7. I wouldn't exactly consider Yandle a bottom pairing blue liner. Just because you don't hear about him because he's in Phoenix doesn't mean the guy sucks. The guy would add some nice size in the Habs blue liner for starters. He has some offensive upside as well. Sure, those stats aren't exactly numbers you can build any argument with but it's a little trickier when Jovo gets most of the PP time and he's stuck on the second wave.
  8. I like Yandle and I was wondering why on earth he was scratched the other day.
  9. http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Product.aspx?P...&lang=en-CA *shrugs*
  10. Hard to say but if you asked last season who to choose between Subban and Weber, I would have picked Subban without hesitation. Weber has done some great strides in the AHL don't get me wrong but he simply wasn't reliable defensively as Subban in juniors. Maybe because PK was paired with Nigel Williams?
  11. If I remember correctly, neither Sportsnet or TSN write those. They all take them from from the hockey news website. http://forecaster.thehockeynews.com/hockey...player.cgi?4403
  12. Probably not, don't read too much into that.
  13. Habs call up Pacioretty and Chipchura for preventive measures...
  14. Sakic's injury was a complete freak thing. It's not like he had his fingers inside the machine with the snow blower fully working. He took the liberty to disconnect power and then try to remove what was jamming the machine. It sucks indeed but let's not kid ourselves, even at the money he makes you don't always need to pay some chump to come to everything. It's not rocket science to remove some snow.
  15. Well today is the start of Kwanzaa, so happy Kwanzaa everyone!
  16. Hensick ain't too bad, no idea what you're alluding to there but as for Forsberg, with the Sundin saga over, don't we have to shift our focus to someone else?
  17. Hopefully Hensick starts lighting it up for the sake of the Avs. I like the idea of Wolski playing on the top line with Smyth and Hejduk but Statsny isn't that easy to replace. Maybe this is where Colorado cues to the Forsberg comeback?
  18. Happy holiday to you as well Jets. Just don't forget to keep the pants up when the kids are around. No one likes a pants less Santa :S
  19. Matthias was an emergency call up last year. Anyway, wouldn't the smartest thing be use someone in the AHL if the Habs are that desperate to improve the PP ?
  20. Habs didn't draft Zubrus. Philly did.
  21. I was bored the other day and I was always thinking of what the Habs would look like if guys like Schneider and Chelios never left the team. Both these guys were drafted by the Habs and each got traded. The same thing can be said about many other players who left the team for different reasons and are still playing in the NHL. This gave me an idea to compile all the current NHLers who got drafted by the Habs and pencil down some sort of line up had some of these guys never left. The only criteria I used here is that everyone present played at least one game in the NHL this season. Andrei Kostitsyn (#10 overall 2003) -- Saku Koivu (#21 overall 1993) -- Matt D'Agostini (#190 overall 2005) Mikhail Grabovski (#150 overall 2004) -- Mike Ribeiro (#45 overall 1998) -- Michael Ryder (#216 overall 1998) Chris Higgins (#14 overall 2002) -- Tomas Plekanec (#71 overall 2001) -- Sergei Kostitsyn (#200 overall 2005) Guillaume Latendresse (#45 overall 2005) -- Ben Maxwell (#49 overall 2006) -- Maxim Lapierre (#61 overall 2003) Darcy Tucker (#151 overall 1993) -- Craig Conroy (#123 overall 1990) -- Ben Guite (#172 overall 1997) Others: Jason Ward (#11 overall 1997) and Aaron Asham (#71 overall 1996) Andrei Markov (#162 overall 1998) -- Mike Komisarek (#7 overall 2001) Ron Hainsey (#13 overall 2000) -- Stephane Robidas (#164 overall 1995) Francois Beauchemin (#75 overall 1998) -- Craig Rivet (#68 overall 1992) Mark Streit (#262 overall 2004) -- Ryan O'Byrne (#79 overall 2003) Mathieu Schneider (#44 overall 1987) -- Chris Chelios (#40 overall 1981) Other: Patice Brisebois (#30 overall 1989) Carey Price (#5 overall 2005) Tomas Vokoun (#226 overall 1994) Jaroslav Halak (#271 overall 2003) Jose Theodore (#44 overall 1994) Mathieu Garon (#44 overall 1996) The list below is guys who haven't played a game in the NHL this season but have an interesting situation. -Claude Lemieux (#26 overall 1983) -- Currently in the AHL looking for an NHL team, would be quite the feat if he did. -Rory Fitzpatrick (#47 overall 1993) -- Aside almost being voted in the all-star game last season, he's currently in the AHL (signed by Florida). -Brad Brown (#18 overall 1994) -- I'm only mentioning because he was a first round pick! Right now, he's playing in the ECHL and is a UFA. -Greg Stewart (#246 overall 2004) -- Mentioned him because I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a call-up if the injuries keep happning. -Kyle Chipchura (#18 overall 2004) -- If he wasn't injured right now, he'd be playing right now. Overall, that's some impressive line-up.
  22. How about we just wait until he officially signs with a team ? This has been going on for like 6 months now, what's another week's worth of waiting?
  23. He practiced there. Means nothing since it was just to test if his shoulder could handle the work out.
  24. Amene beaucoup d'argent, la France, ce n'est pas cheap.
