On the bright side, that was a lousy effort and Abby kept them in it. They are lucky to be tied right now, but if they come out hard in the second, they have a great chance tonight. Remember, Ottawa is dead tired and will lose momentum if the Habs start skating and hitting them....
I am sure Bob will get them fired up in the dressing room...

They keep making really bad outlet passes. Three times Bulis has either passed it to a guy totally covered, or turned it over. He is not impressing me so far tonight....

The boys better step it up. The goal Dandy got was the only time they even spent time in the Ottawa end. they just are not skating well.
Aeb sure gives up the rebounds, which means the guys have to skate hard and be there first to clear.
Hopefully the guys wake up, they are getting outshot just as bad as in their "embarrassing game".

Kovy and Ribs need a shooter. A guy who either is wound up waiting for the pass or is screening the goalie for Kovy.
The sad part is that Dags kind of fits that description. Higgens could also do it quite well. Zednik should be able to do it, but he seems to prefer rushing and going around the net.
So many times I have seen Ribs and Kovy look up for that guy parked in the high slot ready to shoot, and the guy just is not there....

Or, the top line of the bruins (their only decent line) got off the ice... It was Murray that helped get the puck out and up the ice, not bulis, he came on later.

Bulis has had more scoring opportunities then anyone in the league (perhaps overstating it..). However, he rarely turns them into goals.
I have always said that if Bulis could convert, he would be a great player. He has the speed and hockey sense to create opportunities, but he has hands of stone. Yes he got some goals this year during a hot streak, but think of all the goals he didn't get. To my way of thinking, he has proven he does not have hot hands, just hot legs. Legs slow down with age!
I would rather have a proven goal scorer who is slowing down a bit, then fast guy with poor hands who is slowing down. At least guys like O'Neil and Lindros can convert on the PP when they get the shot.
Bulis has probably peaked. He might have a decent year or two to go, but I don't think he will ever turn into a 20+ goal scorer. If he fancies himself that and does not like his defensive roll, then send him packing.

I have noticed Koivu falling all the time too. Not sure what the deal is, perhaps losing an edge or a change in his equipement this year?

You people are forgetting the stupidity and big wallets of some teams like the Leafs.
If Huet was a restricted free agent, then yes, he would be getting a Ribs type contract.
Unfortunately, we will be in a bidding war with any GM in the league willing to take a shot that he is not a one year wonder. Personally, I am kind of worried that we end up over paying and he does come back to earth (and we all know there are many examples of that in this league). I would hate to end up with another bad goalie contract...

What a terrible 5-3. they tried the Kovalev play 3 times in a row, but he is too far from Ryder and the net leading to a bad angle and plenty of time for tomas.
And the souray / markov time waster at the point drives me nuts. They just pass it back and forth slowly with neither getting set for the shot.
Put a guy in from and get the point shot on.
Also, why not try Ribs on 5-3.. he is great on the pp, likes room, and can pass better them most on the team. Sounds like the kind of guy you want feeding Kovalev or Ryder.
I would put Ryder in the high slot, not Koivu. Koivu is a passer and Ryder is a shooter, but it is always Ryder trying to feed Kovy and Koivu never sees the puck... bizarre...
