  1. only a few days after his 1000th game... what a great player... :puke:
  2. Don Cherry butt kissers decided that Domi's 1000th was more important than Boom Boom's ceremony... can anyone smell Bullshit? of course The Boomer was a "French Canadian Pissou" and Domi is a great English Canadian... get my drift?
  3. and another point, why is it that Don Cherry still has a job, from a public broadcast station? this guy is a joke, and a Moron, Probably friends with Sean Avery for all I know... and the fact that MY taxes are paying for this idiot makes me sick... :puke: :puke: :puke: of course ppl from Toronto dont see the big deal, in fact they had their heads soo deep in his as... ummm yeah... anyway, ends with not being able to see the sun shine... that they were actually agreeing with him on the whole "Pissous" bullshit... this idiot needs to go, end of story...
  4. Still, Slightly better than Ribs this year, is alot better than ZED this year... and 22g/26a for 48 points compared to Zed's 23... and Comrie was able to get 48 points with an undertalented (IMO) Pheonix Coyotes... whatever... and at 25 years old, can replace Ribs... Ribs can go play with his friend Dagenais in the Bulldogs pressbox
  5. Jagr will probably have his number retired with Pittsburgh, and not in NYC, so I can see a point about Roy having his # already retired with another team, maybe he doesn't REALLY need it here... and players used to stick to teams for much longer... now the most loyal players stay 5 or 6 years (compared to 10 or 15 back then) with the same team (with a few exceptions) so its harder to tell where players were better...
  6. and the Selke award might as well be called The Robert Gainey award (won it the first 4 times)... it was created to honour Defensive Forwards, and he was the best... he was innovating in his own way... putting the opponent to sleep... but yeah he was the best in his own way... # 1981 - Bob Gainey, Montreal Canadiens # 1980 - Bob Gainey, Montreal Canadiens # 1979 - Bob Gainey, Montreal Canadiens # 1978 - Bob Gainey, Montreal Canadiens
  7. I dont like the fact we didn't grab Comrie for ZED... The Great One must really be desperate...
  8. FOR THOSE THAT DONT KNOW http://www.legendsofhockey.net/html/indyearbyyear.htm inductees by year
  9. Chris Nilan? Mats Naslund? Fafan Richer? Vinny DamnPuss? certainly more deserving, but will never happen... mean while you forgot Patrick Traverse on that list...
  10. how can anyone be against it? Abby was on fire in Colorado too since Jan. 1st, I think it was 15 w 5d or something like that (showed in the JDM yesterday) and Huet was on fire here too (is probably looking at second straight D player of the week, yet again) Im all for it! as for the no 1st line thing? why not, its a great chance to try something new, and keeps the other teams on their toes, they dont get a chance to rest, and have to keep that checking line on longer, eliminatin their own scoring threat... could be the evolution of the trap system, where team shut themselves... whatever...
  11. so? Mario Lemieux did the same for years, and in TV ads at that (the soup thing) LOL... doesnt take away the fact he was a great player... not to mention Fafan Richer...
  12. Cournoyer, player with the most cup wins in History, 10 in 16 years Robinson, was probably the greatest D-Man in habs History Gainey, THE REASON for the Selke award... nuff said Roy: THE WAYNE GRETZKY of goalies, rewrote the record books inspired a whole generation of goalies, from Quebec, and everywhere... so to you, they weren't (or still aren't for those waiting) good enough to get their number up?
  13. Like I said, I can get pretty harsh... But The Boomer retired a looong time ago, and yet, his number took way too long to retire... How long did it take for Colorado to retire Roy's number? yeah...
  14. id say 33 Roy... they'll wait for the others to die B4 they retire the numbers, costs less that way... Boom Boom was overdue, its all I meant by that...
  15. 2 games in hand guys... not to worry, we still have arm space...
  16. Abby for Theo... this Frees us roughly 2.6 million... with that done, I cant help but think Smiley Bob has something else to say/do... the deadline is still relatively far, Gainey has his sights on a BIG forward, and possibly a D-man, hes not done yet... Im sure that this was not to get rid of Theo, there is an other reason... Jokinen and Bertuzzi are still very "getable" with rumors that Jokinen will go for Picks only and Souray possibly go to Vancouver, this is getting weirder and weirder... suprises can still happen, Keith Tkachuk can be an option if it means a PO spot (Blues suck MTL are in the playoffs) Gainey IS NOT DONE he has a few tricks up his sleeves, and is still very active...
  17. Trade is done... and a weird one at that... is Theo worth Abby? LOL
  18. Canada Vs. Russia... im afraid, this might be the end of the line for "our" national team... our defensive B team might not be able to contain the Russian offencive power... our Goalies have not been up for the task either, and we couldn't even score against the Swiss... everyone needs to step it up a notch now...
  19. Koivu BREAKS under pressure... LOL thats a good one... But seriously, is it really just Koivu playing, or is Selanne making him look better than he really is? too bad we didn't pick him up when he showed interest to play with Saku a few years back...
  20. #1 Prospect for Janurary due to his WJC performance. But only 7th overall for the year, doubtful he'll go first... and in the new NHL its pretty much the team that scores the most goals, Kessel will probably be #1 no, probably not... but they will have a great shot at picks 2 or 3, and they can either pick Toews or Johnson, or if either of them goes first, then they have a good shot at Kessel (then again Frolik wouldn't be a bad fit either) Are they going to stay with the financially deficient Pens long enough to make something happen? thats what I meant by "If they have a future at all"... with the cap for one, these guys will be split up before the Pens get a cup... second is the fact that These three, once they become either RFA's or UFAs will the pens have the cash to keep em? (and you can include M-A Fleury here too) I mean these guys are set to make 10 million dollar salaries at one point or another, will it be before the cap catches up to the team? these 4 guys wont go for less than 40 million (4x 10 million a year) that quite a chunk of the allowed payroll...
  21. pair him and Crosby, and you've got your Gretzky-Messier pairing right there... this is scary, it will be nice to see what they can do once they get to be on the same team, they have a solid foundation for the next 10 years... but thats off subject lol...
  22. eek... sorry my bad... looked kinda fast... I guess I saw Souray and Kovalev or something... kinda loses the point to my post... then again, the Kovy questions still stand...
  23. We lost Hainsey to a stupid rule, not because of Streit... With that said, streit might be the best swiss player in the world, then again, who cares about swiss hockey players? hes a goner thats a fact... The guy is no better than Dandy (this year) on both sides of the ice, but Dandy has more "Potential" (not in the sense he'll get any better, but in the sense that hes been having an "OFF YEAR" and that he can always bounce back) so I wouldn't get rid of Dandy too fast, the guy played for the Wings all his career, and the Habs have a different style of play... As for Bouillon, are you seeing the same player I am? I mean 7th D-man? hes been playing like he is our 2nd D-man all year (second only to Markov) and Defensively, hes our #1... they dont call him the Bulldog for nothing... one on one hes basically unbeatable (only few players have faked him out of 1 on 1 battles along the boards) Souray will probably either become 7th D, or due to his injury prone few last years, might think about retirement...
  24. isin't Malkin owned by the Pens too? I think he is... that team has a really good future, if they have one at all...
  25. hmmm... Put Markov b/c he really IS the best player on the team, when time comes to sign him you think he'll stay? or leave us behind like so many others like him? or maybe we'll end up trading him a la "Desjardains/Leclair" like the Habs have always done... a funny point though, our top point scorers (Kovy and Koivu) are both tied at zero... Even Dandy and Theo have more votes with one vote each... why? is it the fact that this year the're underacheivers? or the fact they are OVERPAID underacheivers? the fact that Koivu's "Leadership" can be resumed to his comeback from cancer, and nothing else? or that Kovy incident with Begin (a definitive fan favorite) cost him a few votes? or the fact that MOST teams have at least one or two scorers in the top 40? what made you guys stay away from these two? just asking...
