  1. The worst part is I am so old I remember the days of emerging non-GUI interfaced internet. The other bad part is that I reached the end of the internet a few years ago, so sometimes I forget to leave it on. I bet shortcat1 can remember the days of BBS boards LONG before the internet! ( I know a cheap comment to get him to comment)
  2. I truly hope there is a way for Luc's family to deal with this. I am saddened for the loss of the young man way too soon.
  3. Sorry gang. I accidentally turned off the internet to Habsworld when I shut down my notebook a couple of weeks ago.....
  4. You know, that about sums up my only frustration with the team. How many shots at the net that hit the backboard, how many shots off the post (Which I count as missed the net), and how many gaffs giving the puck away by the defense? If Montreal improves just by learning the fundamentals of passing out of their own end, and defenceman learning to be more efficient in their own end instead of pannicking they will be 80% better! Also gettting guys to practice shooting at the net and actually hitting it will also raise scoring opportunities. Goaltending should be better next year too now that Price/Halak had a taste of playoffs. Philly did not beat Montreal, Montreal beat themselves by not doing the fundamental basics of hockey. This is an easy fix that the players must practice and get better at to get past the second round next year.
  5. Chris, this is why I like your posts. You don't wear Habs blinders and see the good and the bad. I predicted Habs out of the playoffs and boy was I wrong. The team played great this year and needs some tweaking to get better results. I like Montreals core much better than Philly as they bought their team where Montreal built the foundation. Teams that buy, Philly, Leafs, Strangers will never win anything. Their are some good players on Philly, but Pittsburg exposed how bad overall they really are.
  6. 22 is not old unless you are 12 ! Then yes that would be old. Well after defeating the South Carolina Stingrays in 5 games, it is now time for the LasVegas Wranglers to start losing on May 24th. This is a fun team to listen too as they give everything in each game and well, my interest in the NHL is limited now as the Habs and AVS are out. Go CYCLONES Go!
  7. Well now that Pittsburg put that CRAP Flyer team out for the year, my OPINION why flyers beat the Habs: 1. Not enough toughness on Habs, just too Euro which means excellent skill and more soft. 2. Goaltending, Biron played better. (Biron sucks in my opinion) 3. Kovalev and Koivu could not play better because of age, one more year of this nonsense. 4. Defence was not as good as Philly, Markov, K-rex and Hammer just did not play well. 5. Montreal must learn to drive the net, hit the net and bury the puck in the net!!!!!!!! Montreal played great all year and in the playoffs not bad. They are young but have to learn to end a hockey game instead of letting mediochre teams like the flyers stay in games. Hopefully Gainey makes some changes for next season. I predict Flyers miss the playoffs next year as they are not a good team. Montreal will finish 5th overall, but play much better in the playoffs. :hlogo: So in my opinion Philly was lucky as they are not a good team.....
  8. Trade Halak and offer huet a backup contract... (As I duck whilst my Habs bretheren throwest foreign objects at my head.....)
  9. Kovalev may not be the fastest player but he is a tough guy to take the puck from. WHY DOES MY TV SCORE TICKER SAY: Stay tuned for a Canadiens news conference????? did they hire another assistant coach.
  10. Must see video, it really is funny. effect_of_drugs_and_alcohol_on_spider_webs
  11. All I ask for is some kind of shakeup. Nothing major, just get a couple of guys that will drive the net. Put Koivu on the third line and find one decent centre, Plek the #2 centre. And please Coach Line Change, Leave the Kovalev line alone. Not asking for much.
  12. YUP. I am probably the only one following them on this board. Desjardins is another of the line of good goalies in the Habs future.
  13. 4-0 for the 'CLONES! Aubin scored in the game and Cedrick is playing great in net. Game Stats so far.
  14. Yup and the Leafs are going to kick Montreals A$$ on the golf course as they have a long tradition of little playoff success since 1967.
  15. Lets see, Leafs will sign Ryder for $5mill per year and give Streit $4.8Mill per year. Why? They are dumb and desperate just to make the playoffs. I hope Gainey is willing to revamp the offense as they depend too much on the Power Play and not enough 5 on 5 pressure. It also makes no sense to keep guys that are not part of the total rebuild which Gainey is doing from the net out. Might be time for Kovalev and Koivu to go to a team that is on the cusp of a championship. So far I like: Price/Halak Obyrne/Komisarek/Markov Plek/Kots brothers All fairly young and talented for the base. I know there are other good players (Higgins) however these guys really caught my attention this year. A few Bulldogs should get a shot in preseason and Gainey will add to the lineup. Habs have a good core, and a few sometimes productive veterans.
  16. And Huet has done what in his career? Get over Huet, he is a career back up goalie that is going to strike the motherload with Washington. Or did you forget how bad he played with the 'habs season on the line the year before when he CHOKED. Price is the real deal and sometimes I wonder what happened to the real Habs fans on this board.... This is my last post and access on this board till next season, I just cannot deal with all the WHINE on here right now. Senator fans and Leaf fans calling out the Habs on TSN and Habs fans just agree. How weak can we be.... Well I do hope all of you have a great summer and I'll talk to you again when camp breaks in september. -Jeff
  17. Really? insaneHABSfan aka insaneAVSfan has a disagreement with you. Theo is playing great now, however AVS fans had to suffer with an overpaid player (Like Kovalev) for a long time. Personally I would still have done the trade as Montreal saw Theo as an overpaid underachiever. colorado took the chance of him getting back to form and voila, he is back. Nothing spiteful in this comment that I can see....
  18. Crap! (Did I say that out loud?) Bring back Yvonne!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Actually, kovalev read your quote and now is crying and swearing in his native language....... Don't think I would ever swear at the team as there are other things in my life that are more important than a hockey game. I do swear at my tools when I skin a knuckle though..... :hlogo: :hlogo: :hlogo:
  20. SINNERS! What is all this loser talk on a Habs board? You are all in sin against the ghosts of the forum that shine brightly on our team! hehehehe ok so a little fun to try and break up the anger and frustration over our young developing team. Lets look at this from another angle. For months I have read from the perfect Toronto media Habs won't make playoffs. Then it was Habs can't score. Then it was Price will flop, Gainey made a dumb trade. Last time I looked, Habs are in the playoffs, scoring goals and Price is playing as good as Huet. Now what I see is a coach being schooled by a trained good coach on Boston. Not only schooled, but outcoached defensively. If our Habs play better in their end helping Price out a little bit, they should be OK. If someone remembers to fax Kovalev in the morning where the game is wit the scheduled start time, Habs should win. I have never seen a player of Kovalev's talent dissapear so quickly in a series. Not to just point him out as BooBoo Boulion and give away Markov really did not help matters. And did Streit take a wrong turn off of Victory Avenue and end up on MSLE Loser lane... Sorry could not help myself. If the Habs show up for game 7: we will all be singing our victory songs, doing our little second round dance and having a fun time aboard the good ship Habsworld. I will be drinking a cup of tea as I chant Go Habs Go, Go Habs Go. I will also break out my lucky rabbits foot, tred softly with my voice on here not to trample the Forum Ghosts, and will cheer our team on to victory. Montreal can play better! BOSTON CANNOT!!!!!!! Now back to my insane asylum for the night.......
  21. My point I will explain is that Rebuttle and Whine are two different things. You whine about the same thing over and over and call it discussion. You dealt with what he will do in the future vs. what he is actually doing now. This post is part of the discussion as "that is how message boards work" - your words not mine. By the way, I in no way disagree with you. In fact I made a WHINE thread at the start of the season about Mr. Brisbois and questioned Mr. Gainey's sanity. Some agreed, some thought I was insane. So you may think I am criticizing you when in reality I agree with you; however you made your point but fail to see his positives. When Montreal's scorers don't show up, he gets the winning goal. Maybe Carbo knows a little more about hockey then us on the boards.....
  22. Vancouver likes the guy with dumb smirky grin???
  23. As much as I would have agreed with you at the start of the year, I am sure glad you have nothing to do with the decision what players make the lineup. I am enjoying the hockey games and cheering the team on. I suggest kick back and relax as you and I will never get to choose who plays. THe team is playing good defensively and one guy will not kill a teams chances of advancing. YOu made your point over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...................................................................... :hlogo:
  24. I like the Celtics and Rondo as their young talent. The guys on the team are likeable and I have a huge respect for the majority of Celtic fans as I have learned quite abit about basketball back inthe 70s from them. It is funny that most of my friends are either Leaf or Bruins fans and they are REALLY GOOD PEOPLE! My brother is a Leaf know it all, however I did get him to go to a few Sabres games with me to show him life does continue outside of the centre of the universe. If I had to make a guess, I would say 80-90% of Boston fans are great people that like to badmouth us loudmouth Habs fans. Its all in good fun as long as everyone gets along in the sandbox.
