We are not as good as our record or position - but that sounds like it will soon change. 23 shots in one period is not a sign of a good team, in any way shape or form. Marble just is pointing things out, waking us up, rattling cages. We've just lost two games in a row to mediocre teams, and sounds like we are getting utterly thrashed tonight. We are a very poor offensive team, and our defense has been 100% relying on the goalie. Without success on the PP, we lose. If there is going to be a trade - maybe not a bad idea - we're going to have to give up something pretty good to get anything back. Also, maybe it is time to give longer looks to some younger players in Hamilton at the expense of some of our current squad. But I have a feeling that when Bob decides to come back, we'll see a different team. His influence can't be underestimated. And of course we are fans and want everything now. Gainey was a patient player, patient coach and is a patient GM.

I don't think the team is heartless or gutless. I just don't think they are that good. If other teams stay out of the penalty box, we're less than mediocre. Except in goal and a few notables. Bulldogs playing?

I meant more in our division, during the regular season. I agree with you about those two teams, though Carolina doesn't seem to have it as much so far. We'll never beat NJ as long as Brodeur is there. I feel we can beat everyone else. Latendresse with Kovalev and Samsonov sounded good - how did they look, for those who watched the game?

Boston worries me a lot. Laffs suck. Not sure how good we are - in the 'new' NHL, geared so much for the PP, it helps us a lot more than people think. Then again, we've been riding our goalies since Dryden retired. Well, after a grossly disappointing result that puts a damper on my Saturday (it's already Saturday morning here), I can always take comfort in... In Bob We Trust.

Habs fans outsinging the home crowd! Does Perezhogin need better-quality linemates to start getting some points? As in more offensively talented. Lots of rave about him on here. I know his +/- is great, but 11 points in 36 games? Pretty bad. And sounds like a lot of new lines - Gui on pp w/Kovy and Samsonov

Who's playing well? Poorly? Can only listen on CKAC (the French is way better than the English).

Hi all; Just signed up, my first post. Great page and board, feels a lot better and cures homesickness to a degree. Montreal expat living in Tokyo. Born and raised on the Habs, whole family Habs, have been to Forum many times but could never bring myself to go to the Bell Ctr. Moved to Tokyo a few years ago, will go back in a couple of years - and will start going to see games again. Japan is nice but an utter hockey wasteland - though they do have a comical 'Asia League' here, and one Japanese team wears Habs uniforms (with a different logo, of course). Just had a daughter, our first - and she is also a Habs fan (no choice, of course). Go :hlogo: Go!
