  1. I don't get the rationale of that. I'd rather have a pylon that can hit than Bouillon.
  2. The more I see from Galleghar the more I hate DD.
  3. My worry is we would bet burnt again. MaxPac may not be a power forward, but he is a pure goal scorer. He is not the problem. The problem is we have too many players like DD, Briere, Gionta in our top 6,
  4. usual result. Go into sit back mode and get scored on.
  5. why is Moen playing with Pleks and Gionta now? Is Briere hurt or something or is MT in shutdown mode? Great, Eller and Galchenyuk fighting for the puck deep and Prust sitting at the blue line. I know we're protecting the lead, but you need to be forechecking hard.
  6. If that was Galleghar on the one-on-one, he would have gone inside to the net instead of outside. DD of course got easily bumped off.
  7. I doubt if we'd get good value for him. Either we pick up a more expensive contract for a marginal improvement in production or get younger with more potential. I'd rather move DD ASAP with the first opportunity there is to dump him.
  8. That's why Galchenyuk should be out there. He's a guy who can control the play down low. I'd like to see Galchenyuk, Galleghar and MaxPac out there together on the PP.
  9. I'd say he is our BIGGEST power forward. Finally Galchenyuk and Eller.
  10. I don't get why we need to go with the regular lines for the PP. I hate that Galchenyuk and Eller don't get much time. It's bad enough the line isn't as effective with Prust not being a threat, but at least give them decent time on the PP.
  11. There is difference with a guy who has always been an elite talent and a guy we signed out of the echl. Subban since the first time he came up was a guy you knew was going to be a Norris candidate. DD was a guy we rushed to sign, when everyone knew the cap was coming down and there would be teams who would not have the room to sign all their players. There was no need to rush into signing DD and Bouillon.
  12. I really don't get MT. These lines are friggin stupid. In trying to spread around the offence, he is killing what offence there is. He breaks up the only line that has consistently been good and saddles them with a 4th liner. It's bad enough that DD continues to be given mire rope, when he should have been hung by all the rope he's already been given. Yet Bournival who is one of the more consistent players is on the 4th line.
  13. I think the range for Subban is going to start at $7m. His agent can easily get that on a short term deal by simply going to arbitration. Markov will start at his current deal, which I think is around $5.75m. Given they are talking about $7m for Phaneuf, if he wants Markov will easily get that on the open market. We were able to get him to sign at the same rate on his existing deal, because there was a risk of him coming off an injury plagued couple of years. But if you think about it, Markov is playing for an annual rate negotiated 6 or 7 years ago. I think best case scenerio will be $13.5m for the two, more likely will be around $15m. This is why MB playing hardball with Subban was stupid, as we probably could have got him locked up long term for under $6m. Hell prior to the lockout I was saying let's lock him up to a 12 to 15 year deal in the $5m to $5.5m range. We were talking about a kid who was committed to fitness and was an obvious top two dman. Diaz will want at LEAST $3m, which is probably less than what he will command as a UFA. Given what we have committed to Emelin and Gorges - around $8m - can we afford $26m for 5 dmen? Especially when Gorges and Diaz are best suited as 3rd pairing dmen and we still need atop 4 if Tinordi, patryn or Belieau are not ready?
  14. Not signing Jagr does have long term ramifications. Having a guy like Jagr as a role model for Gally squared, Eller, MaxPac and any other young prospects like Bournival is much better than having them to look up to Bourque - or down at Briere and DD. Resigning Bouillon who everyone knows MT will overuse also takes away time from other dman. Would any of our 3 prospects from Hamilton turn over the puck more or know players INTO Price more than Bouillon does??
  15. I'd actually be interested in a multi-player deal with the Jets with maxPac and Kane as the centre pieces.
  16. I've been saying that since last year about the ice time DD gets versus the EGG line.
  17. Breire was signed because of his playoff stats - which really doesn't help us get in the playoffs. Here are the MB flubs to date: - Not signing Subban before the lockout for 12 years -not signing Jagr last year -not signing Subban to 8 years last years -resigning both Bouillon and DD to extensions in a year the cap was going down - no reason to jump the gun signing these two turkeys -not signing Jagr this summer -Not trying to move DD over the summer -signing Parros, rather than actually trying to get a big body that can play a regular shift.
  18. shutout at home by a backup goalie and what has been for the most part, a pretty crappy rangers team
  19. Dumping him puts White in the lineup, Prust on the 4th line and Briere in the top 6. All of which are better than DD in the lineup getting more minutes that the EGG line.
  20. On another note, Jagr who for two has repeatedly been spurned by the habs now has 7 goals, which over 3 times the goals than Briere and DD combined, at around half their combined salary and is twice their size. Nope, there as no reason for us to sign Jagr
  21. iF Gallegher is sick, play Briere or Maxpac with Galchenyuk and Eller. Dd getting more ice time is plain lunacy, stupidity, idiocy and bullshit.
