Wow.. what a lack of respect for Saku Koivu. I am appauled by (some) of these posts. You dont know why Koivu has been given the C? well not only has he been given the C but he is the longest serving Captain in Montreal Canadiens HISTORY.

If I were GM: Alex Kovalev Traded to the Blue Jackets for Nikolai Zheredev .. throw in a pick if needed Sheldon Souray, Mike Ryder and Perezghoin traded to Edmonton for MA Bergeron and Ryan Smyth. Lines: Higgins Koivu Smyth So much leadership on this line. Smyth will park himself nicely in front of the net. Higgins will learn a whole lot playing with Koivu and Smyth, and we will basically be modelling him into our next captain. This line will be solid both offensively and defensively, as all 3 are great two way players. Samsonov Plekanec Zheredev Zheredev and Sammy both have so much potential. This line I feel would strive together. It would definitely be a speedy line. They would be perfect for secondary scoring. I know Zherdev is playing under his potential, but so is Kovalev, and he is alot cheaper. Begin Bonk Johnson Absoloute shutdown line. This line will be totally defnsive mindd and could be matched up against the opposing teams best each night. Begin is a heck of a lot better playing on the wing then he is at centre. Streit Lapierre Latendresse Energy line. This line will not be leaned on heavily for scoring goals, but they will be a very hard working , hard skating line. I feel that Latendresse and Lapierre have very good chemistry together. Right now, Latendresse is getting to much big ice time, he is not quite ready. Extras- Gath Murray, Aaron Downey. These two will only play when we desperately need an agressor. They would play in games such as against Pittsburgh when it was evident that an agressor is needed. Defense: Mike Komisarek Andrei Markov MA Bergeron Craig Rivet Boullion Dandy extra's- Niinama, Streit (if there is an injury put Streit back on D. If the injury is short term have Murray take his place, and if it is long term call up Kostitsyn.) I think that we need a change of faces around the dressing room. Alex Kovalev is just not getting the job done. What do you guys think?

I don't think we are going to be sellers. This team is still re-building, Bob would be nuts to deal away any prospects.

Horrible move by Emery. Couldn't belive my eyes that he only got a 2 minute penalty.... and to top it off Frank the Tank gets 4 minutes for roughing a few minutes later.

Team 990 reported tonight in the post-game show that Montreal and Chicago are very close to a deal that would see Aucoin coming here for Sammy and Rivet... Personally I dont like this trade at all. I would like to see Smolinski thrown in the mix though.

I have nothing but love for Koivu, always have and always will. By far my favourite habs, and I think his number should hang from the rafters.

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum. Long time poster in the Canadiens Forum, had enough of the strict rules and I wanted a more looser place to post. This game against Jersey is going to be tough. We never seem to beat Jersey, espcially in the Swamp. Should be a long one.
