  1. 6 to 12 months out as mentioned by Doug Mclean tonight on TSN; " .....meniscus, MCl, and partial tear of reconstructed ACL"....ouch. technically: he has: " .....Partial tear ACL graft right knee, associated bone contusions, large radial tear lateral meniscus, moderate knee joint defusion. " and surgery on same knee, out for the season, rehab for the start of the 2011 season target...this will impact his UFA status... HABS will have to place him on Long term Injury, and save salary cap. This time Markov will more than likely need an ALLOGRAFT, and not from his Hamstring.... I mentioned on here when he got injured last season he would be out until DECEMBER/EARLY January perhaps February from the ORIGINAL injury... Coming back after 6 months from ACL RECONSTRUCTION is way too early. It varies with everyone, for athletes 9 months is average, 6 months is possible but risks are involved depending on the rehab etc.... here is a good link for general overview: http://www.financeprofessor.com/funlinks/r...aclsurgery.html "........Your mileage may vary, but within 3-4 months you should be jogging, biking within a month or two after that. Playing sports will be a while longer (at least 6 months, probably 9 months), but be patient. Take the time to learn more about your sport, or take up another sport (swimming, lifting, etc) to keep you active when you are on the sidelines. NFL scouts have a general rule say it takes a year to get back and two years to be back to full speed. That said, each case is unique but it does take time......... I had mine a few years ago, and Had the same ORTHo. Surgeon that did Bure's and numerous NHL, NFL players, and he wouldnt advise any full speed workout until minimum 8 months....for a pro, and for average person over 12 months. I played competitive soccer for many years...so it took me 10 to 12 months, and good year before I was up to speed/. WHY THE HELL WAS HE ALLOWED BACK AT 6 months. I had an ACL allograft, which is quickest recovery ( a donor ligament from a cadaver....thus also prevents cutting into hamstring or petula: more traditional ACl reconstruction) I am soo ticked over this!!, first when i heard he was back soo early!!! wow Now he will be out to the time it is normal recovery, but with more extensive damage, more meniscus damage, so he will have less cartilage, less mobility, and eventual onset of arth. well thats my 2 cents worth, but not impressed why he was rushed back!!
  2. On TSN, video, HALAK himself admits he was never contacted, nor his agent, just played the interview on the TSN webage now. I am not going to get in this debate , who should have stayed or not. What has been obvious is PRICE was the high value investment, blue chip top 5 draft pick, and has been given all opportunies for success. Its up to PRICE now to show the confidence that has been given to him. Right or wrong, he is the " chosen one" time will tell soon, if this all works out for PRICe and the TEAM. HALAK, has shown nothing but class, he has waited his turn, paid his dues, and when called upon performed. He was the low draft pick, really a low investment, and worth disgarding, and his performance yielded 2 high picks in return. He has earned the right to be an NHL starter, whether he becomes a top 10 goalie for a long time in the NHL remains to be seen. AT THIS POINT in time, his recent NHL stats, rewarded by his contract, and probably 60 plus starts this year, and succes with The blues, will determine how far ahead he is or not of PRICE. WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE the OUTCOME.... HABS all the way!!
  3. Lapierre 1 yr deal, at 900,000 http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=327401 Cap friendly for now
  4. I remember the comments and the day of draft...search back to the Carey price selection, and his issues of a " laissez faire" attitutude, seen as " aloaf" , and a year later being cut from Brent Sutters CDN JR team, because he was the only player who chose to skip the optional skate ( last one).. well, is he mentally tough to reach the next level? hmmmm no question of his skill and talent... We all hear about POTENTIAL....well if ever realized is a fine line.. THE DRAFT I remember Anze Kopitar, and was hoping Habs would pick him, the risk here was him coming from a Non Traditional houckey country : Slovenia. ( READ: LARS ELLER, scouting as well), in both cases both picked around same ( 11 vs 13) in different years, lets see if we have similiar success, Halak, will he be a Vakoun type or a Jim Carey type, or even worse for Habs, will he be a Hasek? And does Price turn out to be a Felix Potvin, or a Jummy Waite? Time will tell.... And time this year if Price can handle the mental part of game and the season with him on the spot light!!! I hope sooo. But???? ( well lets hope for no " BUTS")
  5. Re: Scouts dismissed rationale? Cost cutting ? Will a replacement be announced?
  6. Boyd Is RFA July 1 Ellis UFA July 1 So basically if neither signed, SK was just dumped for 0, but frees up some cap space and problem ridden of PRICE will be signed in the 2.5 mill to 3 mill. RUMBLINGS out west here of him wanting to be out west, dont know if any truth to it, but what I hear from the community of some hockey people..
  7. No disrespect to anyone, but some of the trade proposals commented are wow, off the wall, we would be in deep trouble if these actually happened
  8. Well Congratulations to the Canadiens and great playoff effort. Thanks for the memories, well done.. Gionta, Cammy, Gill, and especially Halak and rest of the team, well done, great leadership shown..... Congrats to eliminating Capitals and Penguins.... Final 4, exceeded all expectations... I have already talked about this series, dont want to talk about it anymore.. Lets build on this run, fine tune the team, get cap space, and move on But sooo tough to swallow, soo very tough to reach this far, dont want to wait another decade... Damn it!! Thats it, see you all on Draft day, and any future news, Enjoy the summer all!!
  9. wow, what a lazy lazy penalty by Metropolitan!! wow PP killed us in this series....non existent CANT HAVE METRO and MAB out there.... WOW great run by HABS, but wow, not the way to exit the playoffs..
  10. No direction from bench......they look lost JM I believe has just been outcoached the full series when a team simply reacts , and reacts. indication of no clear system effort is there, but sadly not good enough special teams , pp has to score here....1 goal on pp in series doesnt win you a series a 4th goal by flyers, will we see Price in?
  11. Well was good while it lasted, ALL 3 GOALS mistakes. defeated teams find a way to lose, Habs just found that way... Even Halak looks defeated and spent, on that 3rd goal, Halak was on his knees for the whole play that lead to goal.... Well folks, game. set and match.. Was great while it lasted....Habs have nothing left in tank and JM cant adapt.....
  12. YEP, gives the wrong impression and perception agreed....... he should be benched..... Enough on MAB, we all know what you get from him..... Habs need to keep winning the small battles and driving hard to net...leighton looks slow and methodical tonight
  13. OK BENCH MAB now, before too late...... DONT want to see him in a HABS uniform next year, I had to go though few seasons watching that nightmare in Edmonton
  14. Well as I always maintained a team cant win any championship with MAB in their lineup, only as strong as your weakest link!! the 2 on 1 SH, than goal....
  15. Well there is ONE!! ----- Drive to the slots, Leighton isnt as good as the 3 shutouts!! ----- win the battles!! Goals will come!!
  16. Here is HOPING for a better result, ---- DETERMINATION well not sure if this is good enough. I believed that Flyers were the better of the 2 ( Bruins ), due to weaker goaltending, for Habs to face.. But this series ( 3 shutouts ) has turned to a nightmare. Flyers arent that much better, and their goaltending is second rate ---- Martin had a " shutdown" plan for Wash, and Penguins, a goal and system to play ---- With Flyers, is he being outcoached, Flyers simply play a better " shutdown" system. blocked shots, nuetral zone coverage, limiting rebound chances...could it be Habs got beat at their own game.. Because on paper I dont see Flyers being that much better worthy of 3 shutouts!! last 2 periods indicated Habs being a defeated team, with no counter system for Flyers!!, can JM adapt in time!!, its not just determination and effort.. First goal is key, and winning the slots to get to those rebounds, lets hope this isnt the last habs game of season
  17. it was just said: " DETERMINATION "
  18. When was last time a team got shutout 3 times in a playoff series...?? and the Goalie was 4th or 5th stringer with the Habs !!, wow
  19. " ....... no shot off the rebound..." no wonder shutout 3 of 4 games this series.... Damn it.... this is awful hockey
  20. I HOPE I AM WRONG!!..... But this series is over......Habs well done to get to final 4....but Flyers have the confidence of coming back from 3 to 0, and getting their injured back.. too bad.... Habs, look tired, dont see the confidence, and look like a defeated team WOW...nothing
  21. There it is the BREAK.. SCORE, or this series is over!! Quite simply...
  22. after 15 minute mark , and see no momentum shifter!!, where is that leadership from team to raise their level of play!! Plekanec goes in, where is the support!! lapierre, moore, moen, crash the net!! "...rebound, and no one could get to it..." sigh...
  23. 13 to 1 shots against, tells the story.. Team needs to get back to their skating and movement in the Flyers zone, as the Flyers def. are standing up on the Habs fwd's , they do an excellent job of keeping the slots cleared, and making it easy on their keeper. Habs without any movement, and going into the " dirty" zones, driving to the net, crashing the net ( look at both goals by the flyers!!)... 20 minutes to either be 2 to 2, or 3 to 1 down.... Cammy needs a goal Gionta needs a goal Gomez, where has been his pinpoint passing Plekanec, !! we need a momentum changer!!, 6 players only have shots on net....
  24. And than there were 4 ( well 5 for now ) REST , well deserved....WINNING attitude: Gill, Gionta, Moen, Gomez..... Well done to eliminate the President cup winner, and Stanley Cup Champions!! Friday or Sunday next game!! HALAK goaltending and TIMELY goals, with a winning attitude, and great attitude and grit ....Keep it up
  25. THERE IT IS!!.... now can afford 2 goals against and still WIN GAME, SET, and soon..... "......."
