  1. I really, really, really don't wanna trade Gorges. I truly believe he is the anchor of our defensive corps.
  2. Although he was traded in the middle of a game, which leads me to believe the trade wasn't purely performance-based.
  3. Is it realistic to hope for a trade for E. Kane?
  4. Please stay away from Hemsky... Not sure what the league sees in this guy.
  5. I'm not sure we can be competitive without Pleks or Gorges, nevermind neither or them. While I wouldn't say Eller has been bad enough to make me want to actively shop him, I would be okay with flipping him, a 1st and some minor parts for Kane. Bourque's strong playoff run might even convince some GMs that he just needs a change of scenery to be a 20-30 goal scorer again.
  6. I know he isn't a UFA, but I wonder what it would take to pry Kane out of Winnipeg. He 's exactly the type of player we need. With Price, Subban and Patches all entering/in their prime, I would be fine with trading away some high picks and maybe a prospect to get this guy.
  7. Please no Bealieau or Tinordi... Bye bye Leblanc?
  8. Where is everyone hearing this? It's not on any major news sites.
  9. Wit the Habs set in defence and goal for the foreseeable future, it's the forward group we need to invest in. We don't have any real exciting guys in the pipeline, except maybe Colberg. If we want to capitalize on the the primes of Price, Pacioretty and Subban, we shouldn't be afraid to move some high draft picks for skilled forwards in the 20-27 year old range that we can lock up long term. Trying to build through the draft can take a year or two off at this point, in my opinion.
  10. Not sure I get the Weaver trade, with Bouillon chilling in the press box, by my reckoning, Weaver is 9th on the depth chart.
  11. I think you have it backwards... Deadline buyers: in the market to buy players that can make an immediate impact and help a playoff run. Deadline seller: in the market to sell of current players of value in order to stockpile picks and prospects for the future. Habs are clearly buyers this season.
  12. If you trade all of your vets and just let you rookies eat a ton of minutes, that's pretty much tanking. Plus, look how it worked out for Edmonton. Also, I don't want any part of Yak.
  13. I would rather see us lose in the playoffs than intentionally tank.
  14. Even though we won't be and shouldn't be sellers, I would still like to see Bourque moved, just because he's becoming more of a liability on the ice and his minutes would be better distributed among the younger guys. That being said, I'd be happy if we could bring in a top winger to help with the scoring. If the Sabres are willing to slip Chris Stewart like some people are suggesting they might, we maybe be able to get him for picks and/or prospects. I've said it before and I'll say it again: we can't trade Gorges. Like Pleks, he fills a role no one else on our current roster has the ability to step into.
  15. I'd stay away from Yakupov... Also, there's no way we can trade Gorges without another top 4 defenseman coming in.
  16. I don't see why everyone thinks we should be sellers this year considering we are 2nd in our division with 11 of a possible 12 points in the last 6. Those are pretty good numbers for a 'rebuid'. Oh, Habs fans. Murray has been pretty decent for us. Keep him.
  17. If the club thinks they can get him for less, they have to wake up. He did bridge contract, proved he is one of the best. Pay the man.
  18. Is there any reason MAB would make 3 offers for this guy? Do we really want him that bad?
  19. So far I'm not convinced MAB had better offer from an eastern team.
  20. I'm a fan of any trade that prioritizes the 'size and grit' over plan over 'the speed and skill' plan on principle alone.
  21. I would rather have him up front. That's where we need size more.
  22. Hemsky is on the team. Do you mean Hudler? Bizarre they were both left off considering Hudler is on pace for a career year on a pretty bad team and Vrbata is on pace to tie his career, which was only 2 years ago (scoring 35 goals). I feel kind of bad for them because they might not be as strong as the elite teams on paper, but I feel they have enough talent to pull off some major upsets and take a run at a medal. It's a shame they elected not to ice their best possible roster.
