  1. I agree with the assessment of Weber and Chairot. Still, Webers locker room influence might make up for it? To me, Petry has passed Weber a long time ago as the best defenseman on this team. But what do you mean about Romanov is not ready? From what I see, he's solid and do all the things right...
  2. What a time to be a Habs fan! They are all keeping both Perry and Frolik out!
  3. Allowing 5 is never a good thing. Also it seemed like there was to many two-on-one. Bad bounces or bad play? And our 3 on 3 hasn't been convincing.

Same sniping ability. Must be the same guy? And as I remember Ryder... The even skate the same!
  5. Agree. Especially the trend of taking lazy penalties must be stopped.
  6. Just saw the game. (This Covid-19 Pandemic is letting me be on North American time and watch all the game I can!) Looking at the roster of the leafs, Im intrigued by how bad they are. Last time I saw them they lost to Ottawa and now the Oilers. And as said before; the Oilers is a two-man team. Looking at the Leafs, From what I've seen so Kerfoot is perhaps their best player. Flashes of brilliance from Matthews, Marner, Tavares and Nylander, but not the extent that they are dominating. And I do like Simmonds and that Mikheyev guy. (Sounding like a leafs lover?) While feeling happy about how bad they are, I came to realize how certain I was a few years ago that the Oilers and Maple Leafs would face each other in a Stanley Cup final in a few years. That seems so fat-fetched now, with Avs, Vegas and even both New York teams looking like contenders. (Les not forget the blue, blanc et rouge dark horse!) Now let's see if Elias Petterson can stay frustrated so we can grab another one. Expecting a goal from Kotkaniemi and Toffoli tonight!
  7. Too many penalties! The tram (Drouin) didn’t give Allen a shot on the shutout. Otherwise stellar performance from most guys. Is Lekhonen finally finding the net?!
  8. This is why the Coach Challenge is in the NHL. At a first glance is could look like it was interference even if it wasn’t. Before this rule we all would have felt robbed by now... Edmunson looking better by the minute. Still can’t see Toffoli doing anything. Perhaps that changes once he starts scoring. Like someone allready mentioned; doesn’t he looks a lot like Ryder? Drouin covering more than once on the defense. Byron! (The job he do! Fav 4th liner since Begin!)
  9. Love the energy from Anderson! The forecheck in general is really good. Kotkaniemi looks engaged earlywise.
  10. First, my opinion: No need at all to blow up the team or chemistry by adding PLD. However, I wouldn't cry if it took Kotkaneimi AND Caufield or Poehling to get him to Montreal. But, Im trying to figure out how this teams must think i perspective of the upcoming expansion draft, the salary cap probably not raising at the rate most GM presumed when most current contracts ware signed. Say that we did use Kotkaniemi in order to get PLD to Montreal, would that in the end of the season mean that we would have to expose one more player to the expansion draft? Does anyone have a clear picture of this that could educate me?
  11. Just browsed the rosters from the last 20 seasons. Can tell allready that this is one of the most interrsting team in that period. I think Drouin was our best player tonight. Just praying that he is the late bloomer we all hope for. (Marty St Louis comparison, anyone? Wasn’t he in his mid 20s when he got it together?)
  12. Yeah. Your right, but still, I kinda expected that he would be hugging with some one in a corner or in front of a goal by now!
  13. Agree. I think the compositions are right with one sniper per line. (Tatar, Suzuki and Toffoli) Armia has got hockey-IQ to support his fellow countryman and protoge.
  14. Our first line is a really good LINE. However, just came to mind that Gally was somewhat of a disappointment in last years bubble. Do he seems less energetic thus far? And what about Weber? Will Petry surpass him in point this season?
  15. After one perod, it’s soooo obvious that Edmonton is a two player team. Sure RNH has some upside, and I think Larsson is really good. But the rest? McJesus will have a few breakaways every now and then, can’t really blame Edmunson for looking slow when he accelerate like that!
  16. Got up early and tuned in on the Avs game. (Early morning in Europe) Colorado is the real deal. Makar, Girard and Burakovsky impressed. 8-0 in the end. Great display for what has to be considered cup favorites. Also saw Sens-Leafs. Toronto lost, but I think both teams looked terrible. How and why the Sens signed Murray is beyond me... And the hype regarding Vesey? Whats that all about?!
  17. First game always the most interesting... Not 100% sure on Edmunson. He looks slow in this fast-paced game. Can’t help but wondering if he really is an upgrade over Mete. Any thoughts?
  18. Finally some hockey! Really like what I just saw from Romanov and Anderson.
  19. I have seen every game but two this season. They are not bad and the margin has never been closer. Goals: 141. Two fewer than St. Louis. Goals against: 147. Two more than Toronto. Goal difference: -6. Shots on goal per game: 35.1. 1st overall in the NHL. The Habs are not that bad! A slightly better defense, some luck, a bit better outcome with injuries and this team could be in a very different position. This team is better than last years edition.
  20. Just read that Lias Andersson requested a trade from the Rags. He's got talent, that's for sure, but haven't got it together in New York. High risk - high reward opportunity. McCarron and Hudon for Andersson?
  21. Cale Fleury! (In my book he and Petry are did outshine Weber.) I bit worried about Kotkaniemi. Time to call up Poehling and give him some rest?
  22. I'm so excited about this team! (Haven't been this optimistic in years!) I do agree about the defense. Sure, Weber is good, but I do really se Petry as the most usable of the two. And still not convinced about Chariot... Kulak is underrated. The hard puzzle is pairing, as non of the pairings are "greater than the sum". Alzner didn't work out well, most likely because of speed. I really liked then signing back then, but the game is so much faster now, and especially the Habs play a speed-game. Maybe this hurts Weber too? (But, then again, Mete should thrive...)
  23. Thinking about Karl Alzner... I was thrilled when we signed him. I saw him as a steady defensive ironman guy that would make our PK better, an elite shut-down guy. Things didn’t turn out that way, but is his value zero?! There must be some kind of creative sollution for the habs, for Alzner and the NHL to trade him to a team where he would be an asset. Perry was talked about, but is there no one else?!
