  1. I don't like this move, why another pretend fighter? Downey has gotten killed on all 3 of his fights this year. I mean the cap money we save on Dagenais will go to Downey, about 200K for the rest of the year, but couldn't have Bob got a heavyweight? Sign Worrel... Do something. Gainey Blows...
  2. Roenick is amazing, totally hillarious... Gotta love JR. If you don't love him, his favorite team to score on is the Leafs.
  3. I think it's a must to get Saku signed, I think a long term deal would be the best idea. Something like 12 million over 4 years. It's clear Saku can be a great #1 centre over that span and we don't have anyone in the system to replace him. For the money, and everything else he brings to the table... Losing Saku would be a disaster to the franchise, and I don't see Gainey letting him walk. http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/196074.html
  4. It's now clear the team we have now, will not make the playoffs... and with a payroll at the hight of the cap... it's unacceptable. With Souray now hurt, Gainey better act because the games aren't getting any easier. Gainey hasn't done anything to impress me, since getting Kovalev, and that was two years ago. Wake up Bob.
  5. We're totally horrible... How fitting was it to have Lappy score the GWG on a Bonk turnover. Bonk was our Summer 04' pick up, when Lappy wanted nothing more than to sign with the Habs... Gainey sucks, until he proves me otherwise.
  6. Wow, no one saw this coming... I guess Gainey really does work under the radar. http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/195410.html
  7. I think this is the last straw... We'll be 3 games over .500, time is running out to save the season. Gainey better do something.
  8. 2-1 Devils... Theodore sucks. I kind of don't want to win this game, because then everything will be all and well in Habs land, when in reality its not.
  9. Thanks guys, I'll try and do them whenever I can. I wasn't always a regular member, just haven't been around too much because of school and such, but I just graduated... So I'll have more time. I mean, I am HW's 3rd member ever.... LOL
  10. All Gainey has done this year, is get Murray for Hossa, which looks good now, but that isn't enough. We're STILL 4 games over .500... and we can turn it around... I hope he doesn't wait until we slip even furthur.
  11. Trying to fill in a bit for ACF, I posted a game recap to keep HW updated... http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=1034
  12. We've played 30 games. We're 7 games over .500, fire who? Did we expect to be 20 over .500 now? Seriously... You all need to relax, tonight wasn't the coaches fault at all. Look at Zednik, he looks so useless out there, he's the only player from our first line playing, he doesn't look like he should even be om the 4th. Blame Ryder, for being an idiot, and putting the puck over the board. This team lost THREE of 18 games with Kovalev and Koivu in the lineup, before asking for the coaches head, let him have a healthy team to play first.
  13. Better he doesn't come back.... Why risk his knee not being 100% strong... give him the week, its not even close to the risk.
  14. This is hillarious... TSN has us 22nd this week...crazy. Anyways even funnier, is they say we're 3-7 in our last 10 games. We're 3-5-2, two games under .500.... Not 4. It's funny because they put other teams records with the OT/SO loses in there but not ours... I wonder what we'll be ranked when we win the stanley cup, I hope top 5. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=548&hubname= [Edited on 2005/12/13 by Habby1197]
  15. On top on the Groin problem, Koivu's got a stomach flu, he won't be ready tomorrow, Saturday is more likely...
  16. I've had this personally, and I know it hasn't looked like he was giving it his all so far... But maybe he actually couldn't. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=146118&hubname=
  17. This guy is really amazing... Skated with Saku today. http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/193512.html
  18. I don't think we have much of a chance of getting him, but seriously... if it were possible, its a non issue, its a trade you make. He's huge, can skate, can score... he's a leader, I really think he's an excellent player. I've seen him live 10+ times and I'm very impressed. He's a HUGE upgrade on Ribeiro on the second line, it's not even comparible. He also only makes 2.5 million, which is quite low for a player of his quality. As much as I loved Plekanec's game, thats a trade I would make in a heartbeat, Jokinen is young, turned 27 yesturday, he's got 6 or so years left as a top Centre in the NHL, ya he's that good. Trust me. Could you imagine how much tougher we are to play against with him in the lineup? Perezhogin-Koivu-Kovalev Zednik-Jokinen-Ryder Bulis-Bonk-Sunny Higgins-Begin-??? I menan, we're alot bigger, faster.. more goal scoring... thats would be amazing, the trade won't happen though of course.
  19. It's not that I don't want Euro's we just need more of a mix... I think. There's nothing wrong with some of the Euro's we have, I'd Take Koivu over almost any Canadian. But if Gainey is going to get a tough Euro I have no problem with it. One thing we don't have and that I believe we need is a nutcase... Yes a nutcase. Someone in the Darcy Tucker mold, to rally the trops when time... We have Begin, but I'd like another. I'm no Tucker fan, but sometimes you see him with a real killer look in his eye, I'd love to have someone like that on the Habs.
  20. Simple question, who would you rather have clearing the net when we meet the Leafs in the Playoffs and Antropov or Lindros, or even Allison are standing there? Ozo or Souray... It's pretty obvious. I don't think Souray is a Norris winner or anything like that, but we're missing toughness, it's not the time to trade it without replacing it. I'd be more interested in Salei... There a tough Euro.
  21. <i>Detroit sure didn't do good with alot of Euros. Fedorov, Konstantinov, Lidstrom, Holmstrom, Kozlov, Larionov, Fetisov... yep can't have any Euros.</i> Ok, you can't really compare Bonk, Bulis and Sundstrom with those guys... Fedorov has throw huge hits in his career, he's also one of the most complete players to ever play. Konstantivov, Fetisov... You're talking Russian ledgens. Lidstrom, doesn't need to be tough, he's THAT good. Holmstrom might be the TOUGHEST euro in the NHL. Larionov... ledgend. Kozlov is a wimp, but he's just one.
  22. Please not Ozo... Ok, I don't want to sound like Don Cherry here, but I think we have enough Euro's on the team. Koivu- Tough Zednik-Tough Perezhogin-Not afraid Bulis-He's fine Bonk-WIMP Sundstrom-WIMP Plekanec-Not afraid Markov-Tough Kovalev-Tough enough Anyways we could use a few more tough Canadian boys... ahh I really do sound like Don. Anyways, I want Warriors, guys who step up when the going gets tough, guys with some sandpaper... Ozo Isn't one of them. While Souray has been average at best this season, he's still a monster of a man, and gives our team some respect, because he's pretty feared out there on the ice. If we're going to move him and not replace his size, and toughness.... let alone his indimidation factor... we'll be regressing.
  23. Sundstrom and Bonk play with no emotion, they are far from the warriors you need to be succesful. Look at the Flames picking up McCarty in the offseason for 800K, he give you way more for your buck than Sunny does. He's a guy you can go to war with... Those are guys we're lacking. Gainey is smart though, he knows this too, and I'm sure by playoff time this will all be corrected. [Edited on 2005/11/30 by Habby1197]
  24. Let's go through the lines. Zednik: He's a keeper... Come to play in big games, scores big goals, has speed, and he's a bargain in the new NHL. Koivu: Keeper, no doubt. There isn't a guy who gives more of himself and he also happens to be our captain, and 2nd most talented player. Kovalev: Keeper, we're not the same without him... He's a game changer, pace setter, all of the above we need him. Ryder: Keeper, our BEST natural goal scorer, and even though he isn't the fleetest of foot, he gets in the right spaces. Ribeiro: Expenable... Yes he still puts up points but he is invisable most nights and hurts us too much in our own zone to be a real #2 centre. Dagenais: Expenable, forsure has no place on this team. Bulis: Expenable.... So many chances can't finish, I was a huge Bulis supporter, I've had enough. Bonk: Expenable: Doesn't look interested at all... No emotion, just is out there. I'd get rid of him in a minute if I could, too bad we have him for another year. Sundstrom: Expenable: Another emontionless player, sure he's good defensivly, but when the going gets tough he turtles. Higgins: Keeper, I love this kid... a young Mike Peca... can do everything just needs a chance. Perezhogin: Keeper, he's shown flashes of superstardom in his first 20 NHL games. Has game breaker speed, and he's going to get way better. Plekanec: Keeper... A poor mans Koivu, plays tough, creative, fast, smart... Everything Saku is except less skilled in the offensive zone, however he's better in his our end than our captain. Begin: Keeper, special player. Ribiero+Bulis for a real second line centre with size would be nice. Bonk for A Forward with some sandpaper to him... Improving the D would be nice too, but thats another story....Bulis, Sundstrom, Bonk, Ribeiro, Dagenais... all trade bait as far as I'm concerned.
  25. You guys are all nuts, jury out on Julien? Gainey not doing a good job? Only Ottawa, NYR, LA and Detroit have more points than the Habs in the entire NHL. Everyone needs to calm down.
