  1. Small & injury prone?... is that really what we want? Palffy might be the most talented player in the league, he's got speed to burn and he's a game breaker... he's dominated the East and West... Sure Kovy is my first choice, but second... Palffy. Just look at his stats... they are unreal.
  2. If Kovy isn't signed... There is only one option. ZIGGY PALFFY!
  3. Few changes for tomorrow... Langdon is staying in Montreal and won't play in NJ. Juneau is still out... and Ward is probably still out too. Brisebois won't play in either game VS the Devs because of a nagging injury... I'm guessing we look like this tomorrow... Perreault-Koivu-Zednik Ryder-Ribs-Kovalev Bulis-Dowd-Sunny Dags-Begin-Dackell If Ward can play... I'd like to see Bulis-Dowd-Ward Sunny-Begin-Dackell As the bottom two lines... As for the D... Souray-Quintal Markov-Rivet Boullion-Komi Garon
  4. ``He was going for an empty net (goal) and I just finished my check,'' McCabe said with a shrug. ``It's no big deal. I'd do it again.'' Finished your check? You mean cross check Bryan... Man, what goes around comes around, and he is going to get his. Just ask Steve Moore... I think McCabe VS Chara part two is in order here.
  5. Right now the Bruins lead the NE and have the least amount of losses in the NHL. There is no reason why they can't finish 2nd in the East... Man I'd love to play the Bruins again.
  6. http://www.habsworld.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=412 Haha, what was I thinking...
  7. Our best lineup would be.... Zednik-Koivu-Ryder Bulis-Ribs-Kovalev Begin-Dowd-Ward Juneau-Perreault-Dagenais Dackell, Sunny, Langdon could also take a spot depending on who we play... I mean, I just listed our top 12 forwards... but I'm sure Dacks and Sunny will see some time. [Edited on 2004/3/9 by Habby1197]
  8. Well we will probably finish 7th, So... We're going to play TB, Sens, Philly or Leafs... Of those teams... My choices would be as follows... Philly, TB, Sens, Leafs.
  9. IMO the lineup will be: Zednik-Koivu-Kovalev Ryder-Ribeiro-Dagenais Begin-Dowd-Ward Bulis-Juneau-Dackell You got Dags and Ryder mixed up, hehe RW and LW... anyways I just can't see Bulis playing 4th line and 5-7 mins per game... he's way more valuble than that. He's got great open ice speed and excels in his own zone, he's far too good to play 4th line. As for Zednik-Koivu-Kovalev... We saw it for a period and it wasn't pretty... Reason being, Zed needs to control the puck on his line, just the type on player he is... Ryder isn't that way he doesn't hang on to the puck for long at all... he usually just releases quickly. Thats why I'd go with a Zednik-Koivu-Ryder line... and a Bulis-Ribs-Kovalev line... I think Bulis would be very usefull on that line and Ribs would have some crazy speed on his wings... looks good to me. Anyways, you can't think Perreault will be benched every playoff game.. anways, CJ's got some work to do as to the lineup.
  10. But they can still have an impact on the game If thats needed we can throw out Langdon-Begin-Ward line out there... Remember a line of Sundstrom-Juneau-Dackell isn't anything amazing, but they wont hurt you either.
  11. Its been 10 years... since 93-94.... Wow, Habs best record is a decade... unreal.
  12. Good move for Habs... added depth on LD for a loser like Blouin... I mean even if he never plays a game in the NHL, it's a good move.
  13. I don't like the fourth line. I wish it had more energy or spunk, it lacks the playoff spirit. Neither do I for the regular season... But playoffs is a different story... A 4th line in the playoffs doesnt get more than 5 mins a game... First line 20 Second line 20 3rd line 15 4th... around 5 or so.
  14. Well the deadline has come and gone and now we're almost clear on what we'll look like in the playoffs. Zednik-Koivu-Ryder Bulis-Ribs-Kovalev Begin-Dowd-Ward Sunny-Juneau-Dackell Souray-Quintal Markov-Rivet Boullion-Briser Theo Garon Right now Langdon, Perreault, and Dags don't have spots... But... Sunny might not be alright and that could change everything... We have a pretty good team... let's get excited, playoffs are a month away. [Edited on 2004/3/9 by Habby1197]
  15. Possible playoff lineup... I'd love to get a Barnaby type tomorrow though. Bulis-Koivu-Kovalev Zednik-Ribs-Ryder Begin-Dowd-Ward Juneau-Perreault-Barnaby Souray-Quintal Markov-Rivet Boullion-Brisebois Theo Garon I think Sundstrom or Dackell will be moved... and the one that stays will take Juneau's spot if he has a bad back at any time. Langdon can also step in when needed... Those are 4 good lines we could role with in the playoffs... GO HABS GO
  16. Thats way too much for Witt... I wouldn't make that deal. A second rounder in 2005 and Beauchemein would be ok.
  17. Komi is going to be great, but are you sure you feel alright with him stepping in as a 6th Dman if someone gets hurt? He isn't ready to play 10+ mins in a playoff game. Anyways, we need to get deeper on LD... Souray Markov Boullion Not nearly deep enough.
  18. Dackell has no value... would you rather have Dackell and Sunny... or Dackell and Gauthier? Question answered.
  19. Sunny is a pending UFA too... We wont pick up his 2.2 million dollar option.
  20. Sunny has a concussion and is expected to be moved.... Thats why. He's more better than Dackell, but not Juneau IMO.
  21. Hey if we don't trade Perreault... hows this look? Perreault-Koivu-Kovalev Zednik-Ribs-Ryder Bulis-Dowd-Ward Juneau-Begin-Dackell Souray-Quintal Markov-Rivet Boullion-Brisebois Komi Theo Garon Dags, Langdon, Sunny and Kilger on the sidelines.
  22. Sunny and Perreault for Gauthier would be nice. O'neill I think will be tough to get.
  23. I like this move alot... Dowd is another former cup winner. We added two of them in the past two days.... A look at out playoff lineup. Zednik-Koivu-Kovalev Dags-Ribs-Ryder Bulis-Dowd-Ward Juneau-Begin-Dackell Sunny, Kilger, Perreault, Langdon... don't have a spot So my guess Gainey isn't done dealing.
  24. Could it be Brenden Witt from the Caps? Habs scouts have been following the Caps for about two weeks now... and speculation is we're intrested in left side Dman, Witt. He's a tough mobile Dman... I wouldn't mind him for the playoffs one bit... Souray-Quintal Markov-Rivet Witt-Brisebois Boullion Man, thats a nice top 7 D. http://www.thefourthperiod.com/mtl27.html
  25. Zednik for O'neill? Have you lost your minds? This is not a smart move at all. O'neill make 2 millon dollars more per year than Zednik, and has 9 less goals. Zed has been getting better every year since becoming a habs, and even though he's in a slump, he should still score 25 goals this year. Zed is a 25-35 goal scorer who is tough, strong on his stakes, excellent on the boards, and he comes to play in big games... Playoffs 2002. O'neill is a very good player, and I know he's scored 30 and even 40 goals in the NHL, but I don't think he's an upgrade on Zed as far as overall play goes. If you saw the game last night O'neill wasn't even noticable. While I would love the Habs to get him... I wouldn't move a roster player for him. Zednik just isn't a guy you trade at his age... he's only getting better. I know O'neill is the same age as Zed, but even so I don't want to lose our guy. O'neill has scored in only 10 of 63 games this year... I mean I really like the guy, but not for Zednik. Zed's shooting % is about the same as last year... Only this year he's sharing those goals with Ryder and Ribs... Makes sense that he'll score 5-6 goals less this year. Now I know he has his faults, he's not a great passer, he sometimes takes bad penalties, he hangs on to the puck for too long, but at the end of the day he's a guy I want on my team... I'm in no rush whatsoever to move him. Bring in O'neill... sure, but not for #20. Now, Balej, 2nd rounder, 3rd rounder FOR Hill and O'neill makes much more sense to me.
