  1. You are correct. I got it mixed up with my timezone. I can't edit the titles on my threads, could one of the admins change the time in the title please? Thank-you.
  2. Pittsburgh Penguins (12-12-3) - 27 pts Montreal Canadiens (12-13-3) - 27 pts Guentzel - Crosby - O’Connor Smith - Malkin - Puustinen Zohorna - Eller - Hinostroza Harkins - Gruden - Carter Graves - Letang Pettersson - Karlsson Joseph - Ludvig Nedeljkovic Caufield - Suzuki- Slafkovsky Monahan - Evans - Anderson Armia - Dvorak - Gallagher Pezzetta - Stephens - Ylonen Matheson - Savard Guhle - Barron Struble - Kovacevic Montembeault Projected lineups.
  3. As long as there's no salary retention, there's no reason they can't be from Montreal's standpoint. Not that I'm advocating either be traded. I still believe there's an outside chance they are a bubble team. I was using it as a measure of value, not a wish list.
  4. He's basically Petry 2.0. We've seen Petry's best years while playing 2nd pair with Weber anchoring the first pair. We've seen Petry struggle when thrust in the first pair role. While Petry is a more desirable RHD, Matheson has far better skating than Petry. A return of a top-4 defenseman, a top-6 forward or higher-end prospect in a straight 1-for-1 isn't out of the question. I wonder if maybe Nashville would revisit trading Askarov, for Matheson in some form of package. All reports are they are looking to resign Saros, who is only 28.
  5. Interestingly enough, TSN has Matheson on their top-20 trade bait list.
  6. They're also 0-4 in second game of back-to-back, with almost non-existent scoring.
  7. There's some crazy, unfortunate bounces going against Montreal right now.
  8. I wouldn't be upset if Barron sat for this game. He does need NHL ice-time, he does need to make mistakes, but he's been making some bad decisions with the puck lately. One almost got him real hurt last night on the boarding call from Robinson. This isn't taking any blame of off Robinson for the hit, just Barron is got caught a few times last night holding the puck too long, one led to a goal.
  9. For the non-twitter users: Forward Michael Pezzetta will take Tanner Pearson's spot in the lineup. Goaltender Jake Allen gets the start. Defenseman David Savard will return to the lineup tonight, and a decision will be made after warmups regarding which defenseman will sit.
  10. Ylonen is really starting to break out over the last 10 game or so. Reward the kid. He has better hands and vision than I thought he did.
  11. No penalty for the hit from behind on Caufield, but a tripping on Dvorak. I'm really not trying to jump on the refs this year, but this game is just ridiculous. It's a shame Primeau is having a great game but it's trash officiating probably going to lose it for him.
  12. How does Clifton not get an instigating penalty for having his gloves off and throwing punches before Slaf had his gloves off? If Slaf didn't drop his gloves, it's a suspension.
  13. I would be on the side of the commentators if Barron saw Robinson coming and turned his back to Robinson at the last minute. Robinson was coming in with steam and was only looking at numbers the entire way. Can't hit a player then.
  14. I really don't understand there not being another 2 minute called on Buffalo to even out Guhle's penalty. It's usually automatic in that situation.
  15. Not a good sign Barron leaving the ice after that hit from behind. Should be a 5 and a game.
  16. Ylonen looked great on that PP. It's too bad after some great passing plays the PP died after a few bad decisions by other players. Barron killed the momentum with a wrist shot from the point, in heavy traffic while Buffalo's defense was scrambling. It was looking dangerous up until that point.
  17. Matheson, Guhle, Hutson, Harris and Xhekaj are our top-5 on LD. If you were to slot Broberg in there, it would be Broberg/Harris. I would give the edge to Broberg, some may disagree, but that's fine. Realistically, Broberg is an improvement short-term, but in a few years when Hutson matures, Broberg is either bottom pair or 7th defenceman depending on if Matheson becomes expendable. Any move with Broberg makes Xhekaj expendable even if Harris is on RD. If the price is right, it's a problem I wouldn't mind having. I firmly believe Broberg is another Petry situation where Edmonton's defense is so bad, there's no way he could look competent. Whichever team gets him is getting a decent-to-good defenseman that's being squandered in Edmonton.
  18. As he's still under contract, having Savard in case Reinbacher or Mailloux is quite ready to make the full-time, isn't a bad problem to have.
  19. It'll come down it if a team is willing to eat his 2 year entire contract at $3.5m AAV. I doubt Montreal will have an appetite retaining any salary this season, considering the last retention slot would be way more valuable being used for Monahan if they are looking to trade him. I could easily see teams like Edmonton or Toronto being interested in Savard if they can make the cap work. Both teams are on the hunt for a defensive defenseman, especially one that can eat 20 minutes a game.
  20. The announcer on the Sportsnet feed just said Montembeault has the highest SV% and lowest GAA in 5-on-5 play in the NHL.
  21. I did like the look of Slaf on a line with Caufield. I also never thought I would say this, but I can't wait for Savard to get back. His defensive presence is missed. I don't understand Monahan with 2 plugs though, I thought Pearson and Gallagher was bad enough.
  22. Allen starting in net for Montreal, Montembeault backup. Red Wings projected lineup: Alex DeBrincat -- Dylan Larkin -- Lucas Raymond Andrew Copp -- J.T. Compher -- Robby Fabbri Michael Rasmussen -- Joe Veleno -- David Perron Klim Kostin -- Daniel Sprong -- Christian Fischer Jake Walman -- Moritz Seider Ben Chiarot -- Jeff Petry Olli Maatta -- Shayne Gostisbehere Ville Husso Alex Lyon
  23. It's very uncommon for a player to be signed and traded shortly after so I think it's safe to say he won't be traded this season.
  24. 3 years @ $3.15m AAV. https://www.tsn.ca/montreal-canadiens-sign-g-samuel-montembeault-to-three-year-9-45m-extension-1.2043244
