  1. 7pm game tomorrow https://www.habseyesontheprize.com/montreal-canadiens-sign-florian-xhekaj-to-three-year-entry-level-contract-laval-rocket/ TOP SCORERS Laval Rocket Cleveland Monsters #37 Brandon Gignac (19-36-55) #61 Philippe Maillet (20-29-49) #24 Logan Mailloux (14-30-44) #28 Lias Andersson (18-22-40) #81 Xavier Simoneau (9-28-37) #64 Trey Fix-Wolansky (24-34-58) #23 Jake Christiansen (13-30-43) #12 Owen Sillinger (10-25-35) #65 Luca Del Bel Belluz (8-19-27) #47 Marcus Björk (6-19-25)
  2. 68pts in 82games last year, 72 in 78games... baby steps.
  3. The Montréal Canadiens signed forward Florian Xhekaj to a three-year, entry-level contract (2024-25 to 2026-27). He also signed a pro tryout with the Laval Rocket for the remainder of the season. (April 9) Mesar 10pts in 6 games Beck 7pts in 4 games
  4. Interesting result and fun game for home fans. 5 points for Harris(23:04)-Kovacevic & Matheson with his 3rd straight 2pt game.
  5. 28th place with 5 to play, nice. https://eprinkside.com/2024/04/04/elite-prospects-pre-u18-top-96-prospects-2024-nhl-draft-ranking "The top-four remains the same: Macklin Celebrini, Ivan Demidov, Cayden Lindstrom, and Artyom Levshunov. The very top end of that ranking has shifted dramatically, though, as a handful of prospects have taken significant steps forward in the second half of their seasons. The record-breaking, point-producing defenceman Zayne Parekh rounds out the top-five. Parekh always played a highly translatable offensive game, but his second half has been defined by significant growth as a defender and physical player."
  6. Will Xhekaj go to Laval and get into any games? https://habsprospects.com/statsohl.html Playoffs Player Team GP G A PTS +/- PIM Mešár, Filip Kitchener 5 1 7 8 -4 2 Beck, Owen Saginaw 4 2 5 7 +3 2 Xhekaj, Florian Brantford 6 3 2 5 +0 9 Guindon, Cédrick Owen Sound 4 1 3 4 -4 0 Sobolev, Daniil Brantford 6 0 1 1 -7 0
  7. What happened to Guhle & Xhekaj? Just minor injuries?
  8. Beck 1st star of game, 6 points in 1st 2 games of series. Hutson, with similar stats to last year, other than 7 of 15g was on the PP (Celebrini effect?). As dlbalr mentioned, he dosent play again till April 11th.
  9. Oh well, cant win em all. 10 Thoughts: Habs stymied by Carolina in 3-0 loss – HabsWorld.net Top Six Minutes: Habs’ special-teams woes spoil a solid game (habseyesontheprize.com)
  10. Hutson 1g 3 shots in 6-3 win (Celebrini 3a); Mittelstadt/Pitlick 1a Harris 1g GWG, Denver knocks off Cornell Beck 1g2a 4shots 6/13; Guindon 1a 6/10, end of 2nd period
  11. Slafkovski 5 shots. Kovacevic 3 shots.
  12. How flat will they start the 2nd? The birthday boy again is looking strong out there. And Armia showing off some slick hands.
  13. No surprise and opening for Johnathan to get some action and likely hoping to do enough for maybe more than 1 game of action. Kaiden Guhle Receives One-Game Suspension – HabsWorld.net "Accordingly, David Savard could be split from Arber Xhekaj to move up for the top pairing with one of Harris or Kovacevic sliding onto the second pairing where the minutes and matchups would be a bit lighter. "
  14. Happy 20th big guy! Oh well, 23 minutes of Guhle will be sitting and assume Kovacevic draws in today.
  15. Sounds like Jack Todd or Marinaro BS to me, or thereabouts. St Louis is just 48, starting coaching career and maybe will end up with a US team in a few years, but kinda doubt is anytime too soon. Coaches seem to have short shelf-life to begin with, not sure what average stint is... 3 or 4 years?
  16. Beck vs Guindon again today. A Hab prospect filled NCAA game also. University of Minnesota vs Boston University 6:30 pm - NCAA West Regional Final (single-elimination game) - Sioux Falls, South Dakota Luke Mittelstadt - Rhett Pitlick - Lane Hutson - Luke Tuch -
  17. A RH- Guhle perhaps? Not a clue if Trudeau will be a NHLer? Statistically very similar to last year. Not sure about his usage by coaches and i havent noticed his play, or hear he has improved? 3:00 PM rematch today
  18. Habs are on a roll, why not 4 in a row! Carolina Hurricanes vs Montreal Canadiens Box Score - March 30, 2024 - The Athletic
  19. UP 2-1 end of 2nd outshot 27-13 Trudeau/Gignac with goals
  20. Fowler 1g 24 shot Win Kapanen 1g 13:42 in win; series over 4-1 Xhekaj 0pts 5 shots 5/10 end of 2nd Sobolev 1a Mesar 1a 6/11 end of 2nd
  21. Matheson with the 3a & up to 51pts, now 10th in NHL d-scoring.
  22. Beck 3a 2 shots 14/26 2nd star of game (FWIW- Parekh 3a 5shots also); Win 6-4 Guindon 1g 1 shot 14/28 No. 2 Terriers Double Up No. 17/18 RIT, 6-3, in NCAA Regionals - Boston University Athletics (goterriers.com) "The Terriers, now 27-9-2 on the year, move on to Saturday's regional final for a spot in the Frozen Four. They will face second-seeded and seventh-ranked Minnesota at 6:30 on ESPNU. Hobey Baker finalists Lane Hutson and Macklin Celebrini each tallied a goal and an assist for the Terriers,... Hutson gave the Terriers the relief they needed after the uneasy start when he took a cross-slot pass and deked a pair of Tigers, giving him a wide-open backhand chance in front of the net that he buried 11:56 into the contest." Habs Prospects KalPa Kuopio at Ilves Tampere 12:30 pm - Liiga Quarter Final (best-of-7) (KalPa leads series 3-1) Oliver Kapanen - Ottawa 67's at Brantford Bulldogs 7:00 pm - OHL First Round (best-of-7) Daniil Sobolev - Florian Xhekaj - Erie Otters at Kitchener Rangers 7:00 pm - OHL First Round (best-of-7) Filip Mešár - Michigan Technological University vs Boston College 2:00 pm - NCAA East Regional Semi Final (single-elimination game) - Providence, Rhode Island Jacob Fowler -
  23. Really? I was thinking the opposite and this is exactly what Xhekaj needs to curb, the immature post-whistle BS. Working on his decision-making and defense is likely bit more important for the Habs. 10 Thoughts: Habs Make It Three Straight Wins – HabsWorld.net 3rd Star: Jayden Struble Loved the backhand shot and i think being scratched must of been bit of wake up call. "After surviving a flurry from the Flyers, the Canadiens make the same thing happen in the offensive zone. It nearly ends with a highlight-reel goal for Jayden Struble slicing through the middle of the ice, but his backhand goes off the post. Struble then races back to break up a pass in the neutral zone. Then he goes deep into the offensive zone to relaunch the attack. He probably skated 300 metres on that shift, one of his best in the NHL."
