  1. I am just complaining about the number of unnecessary wins the Habs got last season that mean they may have to loose an asset to get the draft pick they could have gotten if STL hadn't played with an empty net for the extra attacker for the win, or playing Savard late in games to spread over the ice and preserve a win, or other coaching decisions that brings on this situation. I just hope they do not add insult to injury
  2. actually, I would prefer he moves down and puts together a good package to trade for the *future* top-4 RHD I believe the Habs sorely needs
  3. I much rather he uses assets to get a top-4 RD than to gain a spot or two to pick someone who may never become an impact player in the NHL
  4. Habs still have Alzner on the books. This year the Habs would sage money, but next year they would double what they are paying for Alzner ecause of a Hoffman buyout I would not buy him out, if MSL can better use him unlike what he did with Dadonov. I think the Hoffer can still score in the NHL when properly deployed
  5. why trade an asset when it was so much easier to loose a few more games !
  6. too funny not to post it here
  7. I wanted the Habs to pickup Bellows on the cheap a few seasons ago, he has been booted to the recycling bin as a reclamation project. He never established himself in the AHL or NHL. Having unheralded seasons in Bridgeport. Maybe an alternative to Teasdale or Belzile if they are not re-signed?
  8. I guess he wanted to own a team that has a reasonable chance to win a Stanley cup … in the bot so distant future
  9. Good old Truculence! 👊 👨‍🚒 🤛 🤕
  10. I know Norlinder seems to have fallen in value, but doesn't he have more pedigree than Engstrom ? I forget what was reported
  11. * Norlinder is expendable. * "3rd pair Harris" like I call him, is a good LD but in my opinion is expendable * Xhekaj is more valuable to the Habs than Harris, IMHO, but he may also be expendable Yes, LD is a logjam even if they trade Edmundson
  12. carpenters are always in demand, for sure.
  13. so is Lane Hutson but both seem to so much potential. I can understand why so many are intrigued by Michkov, but I would pass of him for what I believe the Habs need
  14. definitely. I've stayed out of these discussions so far. Past years I was all gun-ho going through all kinds of lists and analysis. Any pick except the Russian kid is fine for me. I wand more certainty out of the top-10 pick than Slafkovsky. Dropping down and picking a RD and a extra second would work for me too. Spreading the chances of picking a winner instead of riding on the single horse.
  15. IMHO Ylonen is an improvement on Drouin foot controlled zone entries. He may still turn out to be a good 3rd line RW
  16. I don't remember anything particularly good to remember about Neely, I guess you are right Stamkos is a good example. I still remember Pierre Turgeon when I think of skilled players getting injured, he was not small by any means but that hit from Dale: ouch!
  17. Yamamoto in EDM is a small player that has been injured more often than not and that I think about when looking for comparables. Deharnais was not that elite as compared to Caufield, and he faded quickly. He needed Patches on his wing to put up points. MSL was an exceptional player that took a long time to establish himself.
  18. I would prefer they would focus on the strength & conditioning, and medical staff instead of having the best HR in the league... Just saying
  19. he was quoted as saying fatigue played a factor... and I agree with you on the Habs injuries
  20. Good news for the Habs. I hope he stays healthy in 23-24 and silences any doubts
  21. Not to hijack the thread further. Pezzetta deserves de contract extension he got, he earned at it is a cap hit in-line with his talent level. …. but Goalfield signed! There is life in the Habs news ticker
  22. Staff is hired and fired pre-draft AHL staff is also re-evaluated and fired/hired UFAs are told they will not be te-signed Prospects news come out about NCAA and European prospects come over to N-A to train for the summer and “be ready for camp”; especially before the F1 race in Montreal And some RFAs and UFAs are resigned Stuff happens in June.
