  1. 4 times in a short period of time shows serious interest. If its 4 times since mid-feb thats important. 4 times since september? Meh thats just due diligence. You want to scout a player mulitple times over the course of a season to get an idea if you just saw a good game or if its consistent.
  2. The Habs should be meeting with every player ranked in their range in the draft. Meeting a player and getting to know them is scouting and gathering info. It doesnt mean they are picking them. They are going to do this with all those prospects. Taking this info and suggesting it means they will take Iginla is just clickbait. Could they take him? Of course. But hes one of many names they have met with multiple times.
  3. That line was always one of the top lines in the league analytically.
  4. Even if both had them for the full series, there are also different degrees of injuries. Both are rib injuries, but they werent necessarily the same injury. We also have that thornton article saying torn cartilage not cracked ribs.
  5. I think Saku may have gotten hurt in those playoffs as well, either late in the Boston series or at some point during the loss to Tampa in the following round.
  6. Thornton was the one with the bad ribs (torn cartilage prior to the 2004 series). https://www.espn.com/nhl/playoffs2004/news/story?id=1786548
  7. At this point in the season we didnt think they would target either Dach or Newhook. Thats the thing, the pool of potential players via trade is large. I just look at it this way... HuGo know that they need anothet top 6 forward. If its clear to us, it is of course clear to them. Then i look at the UFA list and there arent many good options there. So i think they are going to try and make a trade for what they need.
  8. Hes never gonna put his tail between his legs and rejoin the Habs. There is just too much that went on. 1. We arent trading for his full contract and Carolina would buy him out before retaining on his contract as that's cheaper, so hes not coming here via trade. 2. If bought out, hes not signing here as a UFA. No way when he could go anywhere does he come here. So any belief that he comes back is misguided IMO.
  9. I think its more likely that pick is used in a dach/newhook style trade. Probably for a winger to play with Dach/Newhook
  10. Quinn Hughes went 7th and i told you all he was the guy to pick at 3... just saying.
  11. KK is not coming back. End of story. Its never happening, not with all thats gone down.
  12. Again... the basketball games will be Saturday (semis) and Monday (final) There js no overlap if they played Friday (semis) and Sunday (final)
  13. The final four is Saturday/Monday I dont understand why they dont play Friday/Sunday.
  14. Remember that any picks given up are 2025 picks, not 2024... as the offer sheet would be July 1st or later (after the draft). So you can assume you have the team to get a late first rounder, but you dont know for sure. Also all.compensation picks are natural picks (ie the pick belonging to the team doing the offer sheet). You cant trade for a pick and substitute it in. Not saying the Habs will do this, as I doubt it, but if they did, they are giving up their own 2025 picks, not Calgary's.
  15. Its a love tap but the fact he does it from the bench and not being involved in the play suggests a suspension to me. Especially this close to.playoffs the league has to set the precedent that you cant be hitting people from the bench.
  16. McD is unbelievable. Hes at 95 assists, and looks a lock to go over 100. The only NHL players to ever get 100 assists in a season. Gretzky (11 Times!!!!) Mario Lemieux (once) Bobby Orr (once). Thats it.... 13 times its been done and only by 3 different players. Pretty elite company.
  17. As an under 25, Carolina can buy out KK at 33% spread out over 2x thr years... so effectively 16.6%. They have no reason to retain 50%
  18. Arizona is winning tonight and Ottawa has been winning lately too.
  19. He did so much better under Ducharme? Wasn't it under Ducharme that he had to leave the team for half the season and the run to the Cup Final. Lets be clear, I'm not blaming Ducharme for that. It's not his fault. But its curious to say he was "better" under DD when he wasn't even on the team for a huge and important stretch of time.
  20. He averaged 15 minutes a game in 2022-23 and over 17 minutes the year before. The coaching staff believed in him. Really the unfounded attacks on the coaching staff are old and tiresome, you could at least lay off now with Marty's family situation.
  21. Thats pretty much the same PPG as he was doing in Montreal. Hes just stayed healthier. Hes always had talent. It was best for both sides to move on as the situation was toxic in Montreal though.
  22. The versatility to play either side as your 5/6/7 D is really more value than we give credit for. Its why Josh Gorges stuck around here so long
  23. I think we underrate Harris a lot. His adavnce stats are very good. He also has the versatility to play both LD and RD with little drop off in those stats. He moves the puck well and gets it out of the zone. All of this makes him more valuable than many think.
