  1. Lacks talent? To the point that there shooting percentage is less than 1/2 of the worst team in NHL history??? I don't buy that. This has gone past the point of ridiculous.
  2. Benn has been warranted this year. Petry, it is irrational hate IMO.
  3. 30 shots in a period is officially a team record... previous is 27. credit Marc Godin.
  4. Fun with +/- The entire team was shit the last ten minutes. He was the team's best defenceman through the first 50 of that game... yes he got caught on late goals when the Habs were losing and trying to make something happen... i don't blame a d for extra pinches in the last 10 minutes when his team is desperate to tie the game. Its okay, its not like you have been anti-Petry before...
  5. 1) I have an idea, there is one poster here who has been downvoting me 2-3 times per day every day since i called him out. What a pathetic and petty little man. But honestly I don't give a shit about my number, I only called him out cause he downvoted everyone in that thread, including you. 2) The third pair has been a disaster. The only one who has looked decent on that pair is Davidson.
  6. Not unless they are exploring a move of a guy like OEL (UFA after 2018-19 season), but Habs dont even have the assets to make that move.
  7. I don't expect the players to be robots. I expect that a little extra fabric on a jersey, doesn't change who a person is. Some people are natural leaders, some people are natural followers. Price and Weber are natural leaders. The fact they have no letter and an A respectively doesn't take away from the fact that they are leaders on the team, and does not make it any less likely for teammates to follow them, to take their words to heart, to lean on them and learn from them. The ceremonial aspect of the piece of fabric doesn't change the person. It doesn't give someone traits they didn't have before... losing it doesn't take away traits they had previously either. And sure you might have a few days of emotion, but i don't expect it to have long term effects.
  8. Two things. Hudon - Plekanec - Lehkonen was a line that never should have been broken up. Put it back together, instead of having Hemsky there.
  9. In this case, twist my words all you want.... strip it and it makes no difference... leave it on and it makes no difference. As fans we overanalyze where the letter is. Shea Weber is no less of a leader with an A on his sweater instead of the C. He's still the same person, still has the same charisma and players still respect him the same way, C or Not. Max has always been a streaky scorer, was a streaky scorer with the A, is streaky as a C, and will be streaky without it. He still does the same things as a leader now that he did before. Carey Price has no letter, cannot officially have a letter per NHL rules, and is still the number 1 leader of this team ahead of both Max and Weber. Leaders either have it internally or they don't. Letters don't change that. Leaders also lead, whether they have a letter or not, and the followers follow whether they have a letter or not. All of this C business is too much analysis for an issue that really doesn't effect the play on the ice. Max has to get off more shots to start scoring again, and letter or not, thats the answer.
  10. I think the lack of being able to skate with the puck is a problem, but its been over-inflated too. Let's face it. Bergevin ####ed up in not getting puck moving replacement for Markov. At this point, Mete is a god send to this team and an absolute saviour. We don't realize how lucky we are that a 19 year old is saving our bacon in this area. It should not have to be this way, but at this point he's playing like a first pairing puck mover. He's not Markov on the Power Play, but he's been as good at ES as markov was last year, and thats heavy praise. On the second pair, Petry can move the puck. He is inconsistent, but that's why he's a 2nd pair guy and not a first pair guy. He's good in the role. Looked great against the Leafs and the Kings, looked mediocre against the Sharks. Still the second pair has a guy who can move the puck. The problem lies in the third pair.... Streit was a total failure. Morrow can move the puck but he sucks at other aspects of the game. The team doesn't think Jerabek is ready (I disagree, but digress)... Schlemko could stabilize a pair with Davidson/Benn as the right D, but is hurt. Here is the main issue on the defence right now IMO.
  11. The C is symbolic. It actually means nothing.
  12. For a team with 8.5 million in cap space at the start of this season, and Tomas Plekanec coming off the books at the end of the season.... Price's contract is not an issue. His % of cap hit, is the same as Lundqvist, when Lundqvist signed his deal. It didn't stop the Rangers building around him, and reaching the finals. Price getting fair value is the least of our concerns.... we had three choices... 1) give him a big extension, 2) trade him as a rental for pennies on the dollar, 3) let him walk as a free agent. We picked the right choice. Its Bergevin's inability to find scoring... its his screwup re: Markov... its a number of other things that are concerns going forward, not price's money IMO.
  13. Don't think that I haven't noticed that you have continually gone back and downvoted some of my old posts... about 1-2 per day. Wow you're a jackass.
  14. This team's shooting percentage right now is less than half of the worst shooting percentage in NHL history. Its not sustainable. They weren't the best team of all-time when they were 10-0-1 last year on an unsustainably high shooting percentage. They aren't a terrible team now, when they are 1-5-1 with an unsustainable low shooting percentage. Things will even out.
  15. 1) Development is not the same for all players. Mete is playing very well right now. I don't think playing him will ruin him. 2) With that username, do you even like this team, or are you trolling?
  16. FFS How didn't they find this weeks ago.
  17. Davidson has played well. Better than Lernout has shown. Davidson has actually impressed me since returning to the lineup. Morrow sucks. and Benn has earned his spot in the press box. Jerabek - Davidson would be good (and eventually schlemko in).
  18. Not exactly true. The tape doesn't lie. These are high end opportunities. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/whats-behind-max-paciorettys-playoff-goal-scoring-woes/
  19. He's not the same player as byron. One is a pure north/south guy who has blazing speed. He doesn't need linemates. The other is a skilled and creative player. If Galchenyuk is making moves... finding open spaces... making great passes, and his linemates are plugs... it won't work. You need creative players to play with a creative player. Again, you want to treat all players as if they are the same, as if they are robots. They aren't. A skilled coach has to work with each player in his own way to get the best out of him, for the sake of the team.
  20. I agree with all of that. (well except for the Record since we are conveniently ignoring 2 wins against the rangers, 3-8). However the fact that Pacioretty is the team's offensive catalyst, and that he is put in that role and not as the goal scorer supporting a true catalyst, falls not at the feet of Pacioretty, but at the feet of one, Marc Bergevin.
