  1. A look at four key players for the Habs tonight. http://lastwordonhockey.com/2016/10/13/brendan-gallagher-scores-two-montreal-canadiens-win-opener/
  2. Emerson Etem has had numerous chances with numerous teams. I don't think he's that great of a loss. Not that I think Skille is that great a player either. Lets just say Vancouver has bigger problems than choosing between these two guys.
  3. 1) There is no evidence that mobile defencemen suffer more from aging vs physical defencemen. In fact the opposite is true. Mobile defenders like Nik Lidstrom, Scott Niedermayer, Paul Coffey, Brian Leetch, Brian Rafalski, and others have aged extremely well. Oh and Subban is already 4 years younger. Oh and when it comes to possession stats, Weber's used to be the best in the NHL, they have already shown decline defensively but stayed strong offensively. 2) Protection is overrated, massively. 3) I think this is more to do with coaching. Muller and Gallant ran great PPs. The numbers dropped without them. I expect it to improve again since Muller is back. 4) You assume he retires and not declines but keeps playing, which is the risk here. Not saying it will happen, but that is the risk people are worried about.
  4. Let the other team have a hattrick, for Nolan Patrick!
  5. 48-25-4-5 for 105 points 2nd in Atlantic 7th in NHL 234 goals
  6. Lehkonen will make an impact on the Habs http://lastwordonhockey.com/2016/10/11/lehkonen-will-make-impact-habs/
  7. Defensively... he can learn a lot in the ohl. His instincts and angles on small ice and reading the play on small ice need more work.
  8. The other thing is racine is a lefty. So a legit need jn the system. Doubt he does anything more than st. Johns though.
  9. Subban didn't make a tweet Subban was asked a question about what he thought about the trade, by a Sports Illustrated reporter, on the night of his first game in Nashville. The reporter tweeted the answer. Yes, Subban's first game at home in Nashville, was the same night as Weber's first game in Montreal. Lets be clear here.
  10. The prospect means nothing. He was only included so that both teams remain in the same position with respect to the 50 contract limit. The guy can't score regularly (26 points in 46 games) in the ECHL.
  11. Its clear he's got a lot to learn. Apparently you and I watched the same game.
  12. He looks awful in his own end. His positioning is lost.
  13. Yeah I think he should be sent back to junior too. Its also one less player to risk on waivers... which to me is silly cause Sergachev is not getting a 10th game. No chance, he's struggling too much defensively.
  14. nice cycle by ghetto and gallagher, and weber scores a wrister. Also Anderson stinks.
  15. “People said it was a hockey trade. I think it’s the furthest from that,” Subban said to Prewitt. “I think it was a personality trade.”
  16. I was thinking the same thing. I liked Barbs last year. Not perfect, but not bad if he's on your third pair.
  17. Imagine that EA sports is correct. The city might burn to the ground.
  18. DD isn't that far removed from good offensive years too, but yes Halak > Condon
  19. Flynn (neck injury) not on the ice.
  20. He's looked bad defensively the last two games. No coincidence as those two games both featured close to the Leafs and Bruins full NHL lineups.
