  1. In order to succeed in the NHL at that size, you need something else to make up for it. For most players who make it, its skating at an elite level. It could be shot, or hockey IQ too, but for most people its skating. Locke didnt have the skating and its also why he was drafted his second time through the draft and not his first and he went in the fourth round. Catton will be a first rounder, likely top 15 and maybe top 10. He has the skating and intelligence to get by. Of course no player is guaranteed though
  2. 25 Henry Mews 31 Henry Mews. He has one player drafted twice.
  3. It shows you the jump between these leagues and the NHL. The swedish league is a top 4 league in the world (NHL, AHL, and then either SHL or KHL).... but its still a massive jump to the NHL. Yes Brendan Davidson, a journeyman 7th/8th D in the NHL is a top pairing guy in the SHL.
  4. Its a little creepy for an old man to throw that many heart eyes at a teenager.
  5. Lias Andersson was injured and missed a lot of the second half of the season. Josh Anderson finished 2022-23 strong, so when he struggled to start the year, they were going to give him time to work out of the slump. By the time they would have made such a switch, Lias was injured, and then by the time he came back, he needed time to get to game speed again after the long injury. So when would the move have been made?
  6. Mattheson is the vet to keep around. Guhle, Kovacevic, Harris, and Xhekaj will be entering their third seasons in the league. They aren't rookies anymore. At this point, they should be able to take a step without Savard. Struble played four full years of college so he's a bit more mature as well. And Barron is make or break now, does he need Savard standing in his way on the Right side.
  7. No I'm moving him this summer or next trade deadline when his value will be highest. He will only decline with age.
  8. He said he MIGHT... key word MIGHT trade down in that interview. Never did he say he wont draft a dman, which is why i asked Boagalott what he was talking about.
  9. He just.said yesterday that if D was the clear best player, hed take him. What are you talking about?
  10. Habs draft pick could be. 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th, or 7th. Depending on lottery results.
  11. I Pray To Venus and she gives me every channel and every game i could ever want, in every sport and its dirt cheap. Just saying boys
  12. The only thing i can say is that its been over a decade since we have seen anything resembling such a trade, so the price is impossible to say.
  13. Sens won... so 6th at worst. Could be 5th if arizona wins their last game... (or 1 point if we lose this)
  14. I have no doubt on his offence translating to the NHL. Its the defensive end that is the issue but i think he will be good enough there too. He might need AHL time though.
  15. Hes really showing that crazy edgework in the ozone to create space and chances. D is better too. Just got an assist on a shot slaf tipped in.
  16. its clearly francophone factor. 1) desharnais was mainly a C during his time, so he'd be the 5th centre. 2) the fifth centre is the only position that has a fifth and weirdly, its Tatar, who was a Left Wing,,, and that line would be the Tatar - Danault - Gallagher a line for years. I'd also put Ryder ahead of Desharnais.
  17. Right now it's fun. Going forward he has some things to work on and might need to start in the AHL next year.
  18. Hutson was fun to watch, but as dangerous as he was offensively, there were some rookie adventures in the Habs end too.
  19. Im fine with it. Let him play. The game is meaningless, why shelter.
  20. Its not just waiting. It sounds like its negotiations on when his deal begins.
  21. Keep in mind any comparison is a stylistic comparison, not a talent one.... so just cause someone is compared to Aho doesn't mean that the point totals is what we are comparing. He's a centre IMO. Yes, I see him in the NHL in 25-26, but I wouldn't say regardless of who takes him. Every team has different philosophies on what they do for development, but I'd think barring injury and lost development time in 2024-25, he'd be in the NHL by then. Some teams might even put him in the NHL 2024-25. What are people missing? I think he has almost no weaknesses. He does everything you need a player to do at an above average level, while still being elite in a few areas
