  1. You said you would reserve judgment but everyone here knows your conclusion. So did you really reserve judgment?
  2. Im also stoned. I may not love it tomorrow
  3. He might be available on the right circumstances. The right circumstances is a real difference maker not a guy struggling like Josh Anderson.
  4. Lekkermaki is one of the top 15-20 prospects in all of hockey. Vancouver isnt moving him for that. Also Myers is an expiring contract who us playing decent (though below the value of his deal so hes slightly overpaid). Anderson is massively overpaid based on what hes done this season, which is nothing. I see this as a quick no from Vancouver. Taking on more contract length for a worse player and trading one of their top 2 prospects, not happening.
  5. I agree. So without knowing who it was, we shouldnt assume that Xhekaj is valued by the team to the same level as Guhle, Reinbacher, and Hutson either. Assuming that is also assuming that the 4th period report is accurate, and that the player is currently on that trajectory. And thats without getting into the fact it would take way more than a second liner to get any of the three named above. I mean on Reinbacher alone we have a more accurate insider saying the Habs turned down Cutter Gauthier.
  6. The fourth period is kind of a shit source too. They arent Murphy level bad but still no where close.to Friedman, Lebrun, Seravelli, Johnston, Dreger, Bobby Mac, Lavoie, who are the gold standards. They also didn't mention who the player was and how close they are to fulfilling that "2nd line potential". Xhekaj has 2nd pair potential too. Defencemen are harder to find than wingers so all things being equal a 2nd line winger < 2nd pair defenceman. Hes not completely untouchable but i dont consider "young potential second liner" to be that great without knowing who. There is a huge range of prospects that meet such a description. Some worth it, some not.
  7. Is he completely untouchable or is he a guy the Habs were unwilling to sell at his lowest value when in the AHL? I dont know the reports said either way. I think we can say that he wont be cheap though.
  8. Bader is just comparing them and saying they have had equal results more or less so far and rumours from reliable sources say Broberg could get the oilers a nice rental.
  9. That could be an ask too. I was thinking they overpay Lindholm with the money and run Miller/lindholm in their top six but asking for Suzuki wouldnt be out of the question here. Pettersson is that good. That said I think he eventually signs for 10m+ in vancouver
  10. Jimmy Murphy is a horrible source. That said we are deep on D and for the right price Im sure Hughes would trade him, but hes not giving him away. I think the only ones hes not willing to move (for the right price) are Guhle, Hutson, and Reinbacher
  11. The cost is gonna be huge. Think something like Habs 1st, Winnipeg 1st, Guhle and Reinbacher. Pettersson isnt even a rental. He's RFA this summer. At 25 and a guy who can score 90+ points, its gonna be expensive as hell. Look at what LA paid for Dubois and hes not even close to as good as Pettersson.
  12. I like it Lackin for Macklin Wins Lackin for Macklin
  13. None of them had the contract of Pearson. And if we are using our last retention spot, id just keep Pearson. One thing to remember is that if you use the slot today, you cant use it in a draft day trade as it wont open til July 1st. Now if we are trading Savard or Allen where we are getting rid of the contract for next season and getting value, it might make sense to use the spot (more savard than allen yes). But for Tanner Pearson, the spot is worth more than a 5th or 6th we'd get even with retention. Or we could use it to be third party in another trade and that might be worth a 2nd or 3rd, something more than Pearson is worth
  14. Yeah, i hope he does even better for your cousin, but he looks like a guy who will be a 4th liner with maybe a small chance of being a third liner. Still even making the NHL for a single game, is very hard so good for him Hes 24 now so he doesnt have much growth left, likely.
  15. First round wins dont reset playoff seeding... they'd still be 17-20 even if they sneak in. You have to win 2 rounds (make conference final) to be pushed to the back of draft seeding. I also dont think the pick is the Habs choice between this year or next.
  16. Nail was his first name. Anything we can workshop with Macklin?
  17. Play like a weenie for Celebrini Is the best i got.
  18. I agree. You wont even be able to do that. It will be like the opposite of what we did in the original Monahan trade, we'd have to give up an actual asset to pay a team to take them and I dont see Hughes doing at this stage of the rebuild.
  19. Pearson isnt worth anything and neither is Armia or Anderson. Ill be shocked if they are traded for anything of value at the deadline.
  20. Thats a horrible phrase. Bottom finish for Celebrini? We should be able to workshop something better than that.
  21. Helenius up to 14 goals and 36 points now.
  22. New Jersey played one of the cleanest games ever considering that ticky tack hook on suzuki was a penalty but not one single Devil managed a single penalty at the same level all game
  23. Yes it would be our last spot for this year. Currently we have one open, and one spot will open on July 1st, 2024, and the other on July 1st 2025. With this proposed trade, wed have none for this season, but two would open on July 1st.
  24. The thing with Brian's trade is that instead of retaining on Allen, we retain on Henrique. Meaning we get that spot back July 1st 2024 instead of 2025. Which also allows us to use the slot on a summer trade with Savard.
