I stand by my comments. I don't think Martin should be fired, or Gauthier, but if this team is in the cellar two months from now, big changes will come. This was never billed as a rebuilding year. Aside from Patches and Yemelin, where's the upside been? Price has been decent, The D-K-P had one good game, Subban started the year looking like Dennis Wideman, Cole and Moen have switched roles, the list goes on and on. I heard it was a bad preseason, now a rocky start, what if December comes and this is just the way this team is? I'm no Martin hater, but where is he to put his foot up the as of this lackluster bunch? Accountant or not, he needs to prove his mettle with more than Andrei Kostistsyn. This team has the potential to be a solid 3-6 playoff team...c'mon Habs!

Actually, I take that back. Pacioretty is working out, and you have to love Emelin in the role of stay at home defenseman. Smart guy, he knows if he gets "too rough" a la Ryan O' Byrne, or checks aggressively like Komisarek, he'll be sent to Minnesota for a second round pick faster than you can say Rejan Houle!

No resilience out of these guys...the team comes out flying, then if things don't go their way (like the Neal goal last night) it's all over. I look at the team this year, the way they've come out after the first and second periods and I can't help but think JM has lost the room. It's obvious the players don't like the line juggling...Cole is unhappy...no cohesion between the forwards and d whatsoever...I don't think a firing is in order now, but if this team flounders into December I think we'll see a whole regime change. This is not a good start to the year. It is early, but right now, even as a life-long fan, I can't find one thing to like about this group.

Disappointing tonite...the team played well, looked promising at times, if we only had one more save by Price. I think Diaz and Emelin played well; Diaz is playing a better zone, not chasing people around, and Emelin's first pass in the neutral zone improved immensely. Can't blame the offense when they score 5 goals, not the best stuff from Price. What's the scoop with Enquist? Any chance we can sign Chris Clark and get a real NHLer?

Really good game overall. I was happy that Winnipeg scored on the delayed penalty call, I was convinced watching the game that they wouldn't stop giving the Jets PP's until they scored. Is Price playing this well already??? And Gorges? I thought Diaz showed a lot of improvement, especially in his own end, definitely worthy of being a project. Solid 6th man for sure. I though Emelin played really well, I'd like to see him play with Subban or Markov in a few months, then the hits can really fly! Moen, the new offensive star, haha. I almost spit out my beer seeing him do that spin move.

So I must ask...if both Weber and Diaz fail, who will the next Swiss D-man we try to bring in to replace Mark Streit?

Oh gawd...Spacek as a shutdown man. You're right, I hadn't thought of that. They should make a movie of this preseason/early season called "Waiting for Markov."

It's hard to see Carey Price on the ice time after time with no one to answer the bell. Who are we 05 Ottawa? I will give him some time, and I think he's a decent offensive defenseman, but I don't see how he isnt redundant in this system.

Why bother? This team is s-t-a-c-k-e-d with offensive dmen. He looks like a second-rate Weber. On the bright side, 10-15 games this team is going to soar.

Look. I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but Raphael Diaz is NOT an NHL d-man. We have plenty of offensive defenseman in the system, we don't need a "poor man's" Jaro Spacek. The guy is just horrible in his own end, no size, no physicality and paired with Spacek this could be a disaster. (They can't hide behind opposing 4th lines forever!) We need Emelin. Why did we court him for so long to sit him in the pressbox?
