Fair enough, and I think a healthy Markov could put Montreal on top of the Northeast. But that doesn't mean they are on their way to being a Cup Final competitor. People just need to understand there was a ton more about the Philly one year turnaround. It all depends on whether you think Montreal has the talent to do it. I think it all depends on when Beaulieu and Tinordi are coming into their sophomore season.

He'll cost Montreal $287K per season, but his contract total is $575K (Minnesota must pay half). EDIT: Nope he doesn't play D. Just a winger. Terrible one at that according to Wild fans. That said, he's a character player and tends to be well liked. Warm body.

He's a decent fighter actually. Plus Montreal is getting him for like $300K.

The similarities between Higgins and Kostitsyn is pretty fun to see. As a young player in a good situation with better players on his line, Higgins nearly scored 30 and seemed to be a 20+ goal scorer early on his career at worst. He got a few injuries and seemed to fall apart. Kostitsyn is pretty much the same. Higgins is more of a leader, Kostitsyn is more of a hitter. Pretty much the same player. Pretty much the same amount of, "Oh no what did we lose?" in me.
