  1. This just in: scientists have found that karma really is a bi-atch. Proof:
  2. Watched the "Winter" classic. That was disappointing. Boring game IMO. The weather probably played into it. But I thought a lot of players looked like their hearts weren't in it, you know? And I didn't like the camera angles. Or maybe they didn't zoom in enough. I felt too far removed from the game, if that makes any sense. You got no sense of action or speed. And those overhead cameras work great for football. For hockey, not so much.
  3. Former Lightning/Shark/Penguin Nils Ekman suffered a stroke yesterday and was rushed to the hospital. I don't know how serious it is, I've only read a few short notices. I assume a stroke is always serious though. I've always hated his guts. But any way you look at it, that's kinda scary. Dude's only 34. Hope he'll be OK. Today he's been sitting up in his hospital bed today and he's been eating solid food. From what I understand he has been talking a little bit and the nausea is decreasing and the double vision seems to be going away too. Seems things are going in the right direction.
  4. Bob Dylan: - Hurricane - The Times They Are A-Changin' - Girl From The North Country
  5. I heard he left the team cause his kid is ill, so I doubt he'll be coming back to North Amerca any time soon. Can't help pointing and laughing at the Capitals. Getting blown out in New York, 0-7 against the Rangers. Please Sweaty Teddy, never fire Bruce Boohoodreau and Ovenchiken.
  6. Burke and Wilson are dinosaurs. I hope the leafs sign them to lifetime contracts. Then again, they were Stanley Cup Champions after the first four games of this seasaon, so I guess they were doing something right - well, until reality paid a visit at least.
  7. He did, he definitely made up for that. And I mean, sure, maybe if he hadn't tried to kick the ball all the way to China, he may have had time to stop the ball first and then clear it, but that's the kind of thing that happens every now and then and I'm honestly glad he isn't taking it so hard. Good luck in the Europa League Dutchie. I hope you guys do well.
  8. That's hilarious. What a crybaby. Here's another hilarious thing: Linus Omark wins it in a SO for the Oil Game recap @ NHL.com And the losers get their panties in a bunch:
  9. The game at White Hart Lane. I've only seen parts of yesterday's game. I have to admit I feel bad for your GK: a similar thing happened to Paul Robinson (who then guarded the net for Tottenham) in a game with the English national team a couple years ago, and it damn near ruined his career (cause the British press never let him forget about it and move on, they were always bringing it up).
  10. That was one of the worst reffing jobs I've seen in a while.
  11. That is totally awesome. I have this in my bedroom: It was painted by one of my brother's friends. Mom and dad have this in their kitchen: And this above the stairs: They also have one or two of his other paintings, and a mask he welded/decorated. My brother has a painting or two, my other brother also has one I think, and my (maternal) grandpa has one too.
  12. Exactly. A shame the NHL didn't honor him while he was still around to enjoy it. Rest in peace Burnsy.
  13. What a glorious day! Spurs were down 0-2 after the first half against ARSEnal at the Emirates, and came back to win the game 3-2. COYS! Rafael Van Der Vaart - best Spurs acquisition in my lifetime.
  14. Best way to get payback is where it countss: on the board. Richards is a whiny punk. Worst. Captain. Ever. Typical Cryer.
  15. I don't know it this has been posted. Why does Colon Campbell still have a job with the NHL? I especially like this part: Riiiiiiiiiiiight.
  16. How about those Sean Avery antics, eh? :puke:
  17. I don't have any kids and I didn't care for Richardson as a player one bit. But you're right, that's a horrible thing to happen. My thoughts go out to him and his family.
  18. A whole lotta Penguins fans have had it up to here with coach Dan Bylsma. Dude gets a free ride cause he was lucky enough to come in at (for him personally) the perfect time when the Pens players got rid of Therrien. Popular opinion is the Pens could have won the Cup in 2009 without a coach at all (according to some taht's exactly what happened). Bylsma got lucky and cashed in bigtime. Bylsma seems to be too buddy-buddy with the players. He looks like he doesn't know what the Hell is doing. Pens fans are not amused.
  19. I voted no. In my personal opinion, the use of goons is a fallacy. If a player takes a shot at your star player, does your goon go out and bash his face in? No, he goes out and bashed the face of the other team's goon. If goons were doing what people say they do, Ovechkin wouldn't continue to make dirty plays.
  20. The Penguins, much to the understandable dismay of their fans, lost the opener at Consol Energy Place to the hated Philthy Cryers. Some unknown rookie goalie played for Philly. Former Penguin Billy Guerin, however, did not.
