  1. Plekanec playing like a little girl again. We really need to improve down the middle.
  2. I think the most important thing is to replace Desharnais and Parenteau in our top 6. We've stockpiled a lot of bottom 6 guys over the last few years and our defense isn't bad.
  3. I agree, to me Petry is the exact type of defenseman Bergevin was looking for to replace Gorges. Now that you found it don't let it go.
  4. I really hope they find a way to bring him back. He just seems like the perfect 2nd pairing RHD behind PK. We've needed another top 4 D for a while and a top 6 forward this would at least take care of the top 4 D for a while. He's only 27 so we'd be buying up mostly prime years for him and wouldn't have to worry about a major tail off at the end of his deal. Obviously some cap juggling would have to happen especially if we want to improve our forward group at the same time.
  5. Don't have the stats to back it up but just always seems that when a team is trying to mount a down 3-0 comeback game 6 is the toughest to win. Have to give the boys credit after that 1.1 second loss I thought they were done for. Have to say Tampa has been so lucky this series, habs been getting a ton of chances just keep missing or putting it off post.
  6. Nice to see the leadership core show up in the biggest game of the year.
  7. Honestly to me galcheyuk just looks drained both mentally and physically. It's been a long season for him most games he's ever played in NHL, a lot more minutes, constant questions about playing center, probably a contract distraction (gallagher got one he hasn't), and playing against better players then he did in previous years. He opened the season pretty strong looked very good and could've easily had an extra 5-10 points in the first half. A few months ago he seemed to lose that extra step and started getting knocked around pretty good. There was a stretch of games where he took some pretty big hits and no one defended him. Not to say he chickened out but thats around the time I think he lost that extra gear. I think right now he just needs the summer off to hit the reset button. He has a good work ethic and a good head on his shoulders he'll evaluate his season and do whats necessary to have a more consistent one next year. I do get a kick out of people who give up on him on other forums and call him a bust. He's just turned 21 I remember not too long ago people calling Ryan Johansen a bust.
  8. Yea, i would have to agree. The thing is though most of the officials don't seem to respect Gallagher which is pretty important. If you notice Pacioretty has done a lot less yapping to refs after whistles this season in an effort to build that relationship.
  9. I was a big fan of Bergevin's going into this season but this season left a bad taste in my mouth. I still have faith in him but I dislike the fact he abandoned his plan to appease his head coach who i believe is the wrong head coach. Going into the season this was all about giving the young guys increased roles and chances. Yet not a single young player has broken out this year like say Tampa bay has had with their young players. Guys like Andrighetto came up had some early success to see them demoted to 4th line or benched for no reason. I said when he was hired hopefully this was the end of the stop gap players or players other teams were dying to get rid of and used Kaberle and gomez as examples. Yet in back to back years he got Briere who Philly bought out and was clearly done and Parenteau who Colorado was dying to get rid of. To me this is a very important offseason and the top 6 has to be his primary focus. I will not be very happy if the major addition to the top 6 is the hope of Galchenyuk breaking out. Time to purge some of these soft playoff no shows and I wouldn't mind seeing one of the takes a lot of dumb penalty players gone as well.
  10. And that was Andrei Markov laying down on the ice gassed.
  11. Yea, this is supposed to be a transition year so expect a step back this year. Need to give time this year to Galchenyuk playing center and for the young D to get more ice time. Oh wait that didn't happen this year.
  12. The only guys I can remember from last years Free agency that would be classified as top 6 at the time and actually hit free agency were: Vanek, moulson, Iginla, cammalleri, Vrbata, Statsny. I remember we were in on Vrbata but he chose Vancouver to play with Sedins. I don't remember who else was available.
  13. I agree it's time to move on. He's supposed to be a character guy but each time we've lost a playoff series he doesn't show much character. Like with Moen parts of his role are slowly being taken over by other players in the organization.
  14. As many have been saying for a long time. Too many 4th liners in the lineup out there trying to stop guys like Stamkos.
  15. Crosschecked Callahan in the back of the head right in front of the ref. We were completely in control of the 1st then threw it away with bonehead penalties.
  16. There are players that get you to the playoffs, players that get you through the playoffs, and then there are players like Desharnais.
  17. I can't believe i'm saying it but I really hope Malhotra is back in next game. Neither Mitchell or Flynn have shown me anything thus far. It seems like every game Mitchell is taking a penalty. Our 4th line was finally clicking with Prust, weise, Malhotra.
  18. I'd like to see the egg line back as well, I was thinking of even doing something like Plekanec with DLR in a shutdown role.
  19. I just really hate that over the past few years we keep taking players other teams are dying to get rid of to try to solve our top 6 or powerplay. Gomez, Kaberle, Gonchar, Briere, and Parenteau. I just wish for once we could actually acquire a top 6 in his prime thats going to stick around a few years.
  20. I really hope it's Gonchar that sits when Emelin is back. Gonchar just can't keep up anymore.
  21. Zero offense yet again. Desharnais showed exactly whats going to happen in the playoffs he will be useless constantly knocked off puck and outworked in the corners.
  22. I thought our biggest need was a top 6 winger and that we had a surplus of bottom 6 forwards. We added 2 more to our bottom 6 but did improve our top 4 D.
  23. Rebuilding our 4th line one sabre at a time.
  24. Actually he's exactly what we needed one of the reasons we lost to Rangers was because our defense was too slow especially in that series. Also as Bergevin always says you can never have enough D.
