1. I like Dowd as well. I thought he was pretty solid in a Habs jersey. I DID wish Perrault took that defensive zone faceoff he lost to Boston that led to an OT loss last spring, but nobody's gonna win them all (not even Perrault ). Anyway, this guy has his name on the cup already and surely brings some things that a young team can use. I hope they sign him.
2. From canadiens.com: The Bulldogs will close out their four-game homestand – their longest of 2004-05 – with a pair of contests on the weekend. Rochester will visit Copps Coliseum on Friday, while the Manitoba Moose will face Hamilton for the first time since Dec. 18 on Saturday. Steve Begin, who signed an AHL contract with Hamilton last Thursday, will continue to work himself into game shape and could start against the Americans.
3. The sports report on Q104 in Halifax this morning suggested that there was a bit of a fued between Cuthbert and Nancy Lee and that's why he was let go over the others. Can anyone confirm this? I'd love to see them to get rid of Harry Neale and his "37-footers".
4. I'm playing at the middle difficulty level, medium or whatever it is. I usually play the game in streaks when I get a chance, so I'll lose most of the time if I go any higher. Anyway, I didn't post the pic to show that I can score goals in the game, it was more to say "Ah, shit, too bad we're not watching any real Habs go after milestones this year". PS: The AI in that game is kinda weird - Hossa and Ryder are 1-2 in scoring but they probably only have 65-70% of the minutes of the top line.
5. I'm not sure if this should be in the fantasy section or not, but I've been playing/simming the NHL 04-05 Season while I travel for work. Ryder notched his 50th in game 61, playing mostly on a line with Ribiero and Hossa, and some PP time.
6. Sorry, but I couldn't help it... I guess it would be better if it were like, Linden and Guerin.
7. Now that the season is officially cancelled, we might as well keep up our playful arguments going. I'm not sure if this has been done on HW yet, but I was interested in seeing which year people felt the Habs did the best at the draft. Is it '71? Or 84? Personally I'd go with 1971. And I think 1982 had to be the worst draft year ever, although I'm sure some will argue that 1995 was worse. Anyway, let the fun begin! http://www.canadiens.com/eng/history/draftHistory.cfm Gord
