No koivu? oh
shit.
well, I asked what could get any worse for the Habs, and this is it.
-
I'm calling for a win.
3 - 2 obviously, but a win.
-
And remember, Samsanov will probably be moved at the deadline cause he'll be a UFA next year.
-
Damn, that has got to be hard on Mikey.
-
I'd say either Bulis or Sunny are expendable. I wouldn't want to get rid of both.

Some teams might actually need a defensive forward more than a goal scorer. I'm not saying we get back someone better, but with many defensively responsible forwards I think it's worth the gamble. Give me someone that can finish on the third line and push for a second line spot when there are injuries, then I'm happy.

I heard the third period on the radio. Ouch.
On the bright side, we have two good things to look at.
1) On all 3 of our one-sided losses this season we outshot the opponent (27-26 tonight).
um...what? how is that good? it shows that the Habs can't score
I was going to edit it because I wasn't sure if it was good or bad. It depends how you look at it. I'd rather play well and get blown out then just wathc the other team skate laps around you and get blown out.
And the second point is only too true. Had we won this game then we could iwn any game. Turns out we can't.
I consider it bad. It means we hit the bullseye on the goalies chest too much. I think it's time to give up a defensive player for an offensive player. (I hate to get the "WE LOST! TRADE EVERYONE!!! OMG!!!111one!!!" ball rolling, but this is something I've been wanting for awhile. Sunny or (LOOK AWAY BTH!! LOOK AWAY) Bulis should be on their way out for someone that can score.

Trizzak, I like your posts but I'd edit out that first line. I'll even say please.
It wasn't a wish, and it really is the next worse thing that could happen to the Habs (and Koivu) but yes, okay, edited out.

Seriously, what else can go wrong lately? Our best player is out, nobody's stepping up, everyone looks medicated out there, 3 of our top 4 defencemen are out, odd coaching decisions, top defenceman prospect goes to another team for nothing (and we pay them for it), injuries galore, underachievers, Dags, suspect goaltending, and bad officiating.
If I missed anything it's because I'm completely exasperated right now. Is there any end in sight for this slump?

This is really disheartening

You know, if we were losing games because the other teams were better, it wouldn't hurt that much.
I could deal with losing to Toronto as long as they actually beat the Habs.
But if we keep losing because of one-sided referees, I'm gonna stop watching/listening.

It's official.
Every team is paying the refs except Montreal.

Dandenault and then too many men on the ice..it's like the penaly story of our entire year
What the hell? I clearly said that there were to be NO stupid penalties tonight! Perhaps next game I should tell them to take as many as they can.
Flog them for their insolence!!!

So, who nets the first Montreal goal?
I'm gonna say Zednik on a feed from Koivu. We'll need the first line producing like 3 lines to get back in this one.
Also, hey, how about Bonk getting one? That would put him in my good side for a bit. Come on Bonk, score a goal and make me like you.
Just trying to give him some incentive...
Zednik nets a pretty one after a tic-tac-toe pass from Koviu and Perezhogin.
Streit scores one on the PP, all is forgiven...okay maybe not all.
Pleky does it again, ties the game in the dying seconds of the third.
And Bonk scores in OT with a nifty wraparound.
faerie dear! wakeup! you are dreaming again
Go Habs! You heard her! If dark_faerie says it, it must be done.

This may be the year of the NDP.
Harper just gives me chills whenever I look at him, and Martin has shown himself to be practically useless.

Wow...
Anyone else confident we'll come back to win 4-3?....
Yes, but I also thought the Americans wouldn't re-elect Bush...
I tell you man, I was in the USVI when that happened and everyone there was pissed.
I felt like taking the first american tourist I could find and punching them in the face.
