  1. It was Roberto who turned dows a 5 years 25 millions $ offer that had a starting base year salary of 3.8 millions this year. He was pissed because up until just before the arbitration earing, Keenan was lowballing him at 2 ou 2.5 millions. He was mad that Keenan let the situation go to arbitration. Gilles Lupien (Luongo's agent) said yesterday, that when Keenan called to offer the 5/25 offer and he told him that Roberto didn't want it, Keenan hang up saying the F word to Lupien .... Luongo is done in Florida, we all know how Keenan reacts to this jind of situation. We should just get him ... Let Theo takes the 5 / 25 offer, pay Luongo 3.2 this year, offer 5 to 6 millions a year next year (he will be restricted) and make sure me make him happy ... At least I hope Gainey is following the situation ! [Edited on 26-8-2005 by Theberge43]
  2. Because he is on my roster in my Fantasy League ! Like Latendresse ! Drafted him before the habs did !
  3. I think Bob hasn't done anything spectacular in the UFA pool this year. I think he has to take a chance on Vinny this year. Taking the wait next year approach isn't good. 1. If he doesn't demonstrate to Vinny that he wants him in MTL now, Lecavalier could sign long term in Tampa Bay. 2. Most people can aknowledge that Vinny has been mostly inconsistent in his carreer. But he was name the World Cup MVP, and detroyed us in last year playoffs. The only thing that 'waiting one more year' would do is get his price higher. 3. Trading for him now wouldn't cost Theo IMO. Feaster is in a difficult situation. Taking less than Vinny's value this year or loosing him for nothing next year. Look at what LA gave for Roenick (ok not the same situation, but still PHI had to add a 3rd pick just so LA would take him !). We will start to see this kind of situation more and more often, like in the NBA. All this to say : if Bob can get Vinny for a decent package it will start a new era in Montreal. At least he has to try !!!
  4. Anyways ... I think Vinny would be a great fit in MTL. Bob should do everything he can to get him period.
  5. Koivu is a solid leader and 2nd line center ... that's it he ain't 1st Center material ... but since we only have Ribeiro and Bonk he's first. With Vinny he would 2nd ...
  6. I still don't see us having cap room to sign him next season ...
  7. I agree that trading Theo isn't a good idea ... but man I want Lecavalier here !
  8. If we loose our second center it's for Vinny who would be our 1st center ... still I think it's bad for the habs. TB just saved 7 000 000 $ to sign Vinny.
  9. I think it could make sense ... For Tampa, if Vinny wants too he can file for arbitration, get a one year deal and bolt on the Bolts next year for nothing. For Montreal it seems less like a good idea, they could just wait on Vinny next year, but after signing Kovalev and Dandenault to 4 year deals, it seems Bob won't have room for Vinny next season. Trading for him seems to be the only option and he could be had right now before he signs with TB and sign long term in MTL. Still, I think it would be ruff for MTL to go without a legit 1st goaler, Danis, Huet (who is hurt until january) or Prusek (which has resurface in the rumors) aren't the solution. The Martin Biron thing wouldn't be bad until Carey Price is ready. But the important thing is this : Vinny has to menace TB to leave next year, and Theo must ask way too much for Bob.
  10. The habs are looking to deal Ribs and Theo to the Bolts for Kubina and Lecavalier..and "les habitants" will go after Biron to net mind.... This was heard on XM Satellite(ESPN) radio in Florida... [Edited on 3-8-2005 by Theberge43]

  13. Actually ... one thing I just though off ... Thornton wants out of BOS ... Joe for Vinny would probably make sense ... but if they can't pay Vinny how can they afford Joe !? Is this Vinny problem more than money ?

  17. Juraj Mikus Position: Right Wing Born: 2-22-87 Height: 6-1 Weight: 185 ISS Ranking: #32 ISS Oct. Ranking: #168 Report Card Size/Strength B Skating A- Shot/Scoring B+ Puckhandling B+ Hockey Sense B+ Leadership B Poise B Defense C+ Skill: Plays with intensity at all times. Excellent skater with mobility and lateral movement. Has a good scoring touch Scouting Report: Every year some unforeseen prospect jumps up out of the woodwork, grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go, like Juraj Mikus. Here at ISS we believe Mikus is one of the more skilled and talented forwards available in the draft, and as a result, he has risen to 32nd in our rankings. His game-breaking speed, balance, net drive, shot selection, and versatility leave all sorts of doors open for him. He could turn into a dynamic first-line scoring forward, or a two-way second-line forward if he works on his defensive-zone coverage. He adapted extremely well to playing in the Slovak Extraleague. He started the season alternating between Skalica’s first and junior team. With the first team he mostly played on third or fourth line. In November, shortly after a coaching change, Mikus took advantage of the increased ice-time to become a regular player. NHL Potential: Huge potential and upside – lots to work with for a NHL team. Style compares to: Milan Hejduk. [Edited on 30-7-2005 by Theberge43]
  18. I am new to this site and I was wondering why some (most) of you think that Kostitsyn is a total bust already !!?? Isn't he like 19 years old or something ? Was he that bad last year in Hamilton ? I haven't followed his development closely, but he seems like a solid pick to me who could be in MTL next year and he has some star potential ... Really eager to here your comments ! :ghg:
  19. Thanks ! I will try my best to become a good poster !
