I would never trade Saku, first thing if Koivu were to go ask for a trade it would be going behind his own back, since it's showing the fans and media that he isnt a good captain and such, I admit hes abit on a slump but...other then higgins being his best winger and putting a filler in Smolinski or streit how do you expect to score or get points with players who arent fit to play those kind of minuts. The second line is still playing well, not as good as before but still productive. So what they should do if Ryder is still showing his little slump give him another few stints on the first line. Not like he wasn't generating some kind of offense he just couldnt get the lucky breaks. Worst comes to worst, call up young kosty and see if he could do anything in the nhl, or put latendresse with koivu again, as much as hes not as good he has a lot more things going for him other then streit and smoks. If Saku leaves, this team is just taking a step in the wrong direction, while we were going forward you would be going backwards.
