  1. I won't say it's over but hopefully the Habs can fly on fumes. The only chance right now is the fear of being down by 2 games, albeit 0-2 or 1-3. Washington brought it to avoid it. Hopefully the mirror stares back hard and it's do or die. Start hoping for miracles
  2. I'm trying but it's difficult trying to contain the spontaneous combustion.
  3. A far superior way to enjoy watching this game:
  4. I hear what your saying. You're right. Halak was awesome stopping crease crashing except for the Ovechkin tip in. Halak was amazing but there was also some he should have had. He was not sharp on high and low slot chances on the goals. It was uncharacteristic and I can see a strong possibility that Halak will bounce back. Varlamov let in 3 goals. He looked sharper than I thought he'd be but there was some rust on his game too IMO. We have a good situation. I'm moreso concerned that the Capitals come together and gel on based on the OT victory in game 2 - that they're on a high and will bring that high into Montreal. It's nice to have a 1-1 lead coming back home but I don't think the Caps care about the odds and the opinions. They might just be on a delusional mindset. But sometimes being delusional can also be called "fake it until you make it". Fake or not - a cause is a cause. It's just the way it unfolded and where we sit at this moment and how they may have come together. GO HABS GO
  5. Habs still have home ice advantage ...but the Caps are born again hard! Uh oh.
  6. What's going on? - Bob Cole. Je me souviens?
  7. Not Theo's fault. Left out to dry but on the other hand he has been shaky. Where is the D on the Kostitsyn goal? Markov goofs on the Fehr goal. We're in OK shape - KEEP GOING! :hlogo:
  8. Well, the top seeds came back to even it up. Pens, Sharks & Devils all avoided 0-2 deficits. I certainly hope we don't continue that trend and it doesn't look good. Boudreau has put the skill with the meat and potatos. I'm worried about this one - but I was equally nervous on Thursday. I have to get out a bucket for tonights game just in case. I'm watching the conclusion of the Boston-Buffalo game right now and it's getting within the 3 hour window down to the wire for the game to start. The playoff uneasy feeling is starting within me and will gradually build as time goes on. Hopefully I make it GO HABS GO - UNIT HOCKEY AGAIN. HAVE A BETTER START AND A MUST IS TO HIT. THEY'LL BE HITTING. YOU CAN'T WIN WHEN YOU DON'T HIT BACK! :hlogo: GO HABS GO :hlogo:
  9. Broons up 4-3 12:30 left in the 3rd. Buffalo is somewhat confused all of a sudden
  10. Too bad Chicago. They could have had Halak. But teams in the NHL obviously wouldn't step up to the plate and over pay for Halak. The notion that an RFA of his calibre was not worth a Patrick Sharp or a Versteeg in the minds of the Hawks was correct from their point of view. But all they had to do was help us with a need and we could help them. As it stands now - if Niemi plays like that again, Nashville very well could win. On one hand - why would any GM move a "Patrick Sharp" calibre player for an RFA goalie? BUT, considering it's looking like the one element missing for the Hawks is goaltending - would it really have been such an overpayment when all was said and done? What's better, keeping these players or player and not winning the cup or vice versa? Even Vokoun would have been a good fit. I'm sure the 2 teams could work something out with the cap. Niemi had better do better than that next outing.
  11. Where did this fad evolve? What are they called I wonder? We had 3 guys in Halifax in purple ones (The Halifax Rainmen) at a basketball game Crosby scores - 1-1 now
  12. Bah, one day (game) at a time. Right now we got 1 of 4 necessary wins in this series. The Caps ought to be even more stormin' Norman out of the gate next game. It'll be difficult to overcome. The good news is that the Habs did what was needed - steal home ice and as a fan you always want the 1st game when you're the visitor - well, mission accomplished. I am in no way feeling like we are out of the woods. That would be extremely arrogant and premature. But if anything last night we proved what I was saying to the Habs detractors (mostly Leafers) at work. I warned them if game 1 went 10 minutes in and it was a neutral zone stalemate that Caps fans at that point ought to start to become concerned. As it turns out the Habs survived a shelling and settled down in the 2nd. I was close in my prediction and I am going to relish the "I told you so's" at work when I go in on Monday. I was off today. Hopefully we can go up 2-0 so when I go in on Monday I can smile at the detractors. Yes it's true that 2-0 isn't securing a series victory BUT what I warned them about and what they scoffed at will look more like egg on their collective faces Monday.
  13. Here we go. I hope the Hockey Gods smile on us :hlogo:
  14. I am very impressed and happy with the Habs. They won't be "slow starters" again in later games. They are doing exactly what they need to do. It just took a little time for them to settle down. Excellent road game. They are playing well without the puck! Even if they lose this game, at least they are standing up. This is far better than 2009. Chances much better.
  15. No worries brobin, we'll win - it's OK - These are the CANADIENS! Bravado and guile! :hlogo:
  16. Almost into sudden death! 3:05 right now. Looks like a one goal result. Awesome road game for the Habs :hlogo:
  17. Habs are awesome. But talk about smelling the coffee possibly too late in the 1st and the opening of the 2nd. But Halak held the fort and they finally woke up. Slow starters these Habs in these playoffs. What else is new? Montreal for 3 decades have been prone to lazy starts. It did happen in the 80's, 90's and this decade. Especially on the road with a team trying to get it's playoff game in gear. I was palpiating and sweating for them to settle down.. They have Theodore's roaming from the crease and behind the net is prone to disaster for Washington. He's been awesome but he'd better stop that. Gionta and Cammalleri players can throw loose pucks in the net. Watch for Theodore roaming.
