  1. Certain obvious things catch my eye - like how some franchises have yet to have their legendary superstar - Columbus, Florida, Nashville. but also how no Toronto player has crossed the 1000 point mark. Matthews is well on his way. But that it hasn’t happened yet is notable.
  2. The Pens have found their scapegoats for future turmoil ... Ron Hextall as new GM and Brian Burke as President of Hockey Ops just gotta say I hope realignment has us in their division cuz their demise is nigh.
  3. And now Laine gets benched for the 3rd period .... how much longer can they put their trust in Torts?
  4. Ottawa has made the game less entertaining. that’s what inferior teams need to do. makes me think maybe Habs are exposing that the Sens coaching staff is better than that of the Canucks and Oilers.
  5. Here’s to hoping you do the next 30 of them!
  6. Absolutely saw how they were in all our passing lanes. But I felt like our speed/intensity wasn’t there so they had time to get in those lanes. speed up our game and I think the lanes open up again. also, so many times in the second period, Sens were first on the loose puck. I don’t think that happens Saturday.
  7. I wasn’t worried. I was wrong. it was like watching the Habs of the last decade all over again! until the end of the game when the urgency returned. It was too little too late - but I expect a Sens-stomping on Saturday.
  8. I’d like the taxi squad to get in the rotation in these games against Ottawa. I want the squad to feel part of the team and also not get too rusty on the sidelines - also - I think any and all of the regulars will need to have off days now and then. Get Frolik in for a game - or Poehling that said - I can think of 3 reasons why that’s a bad idea 1. Maybe the taxi squad doesn’t deserve it - who knows what it’s like behind the scenes? I certainly don’t know 2. salary cap implications - the team may simply not have the flexibility for that right now, and are saving whatever flexibility they have for emergencies or the end of the season. 3. who sits first? No one will volunteer to sit and frankly, why mess with a good thing! still - I’d be doing with the forwards what just happened vs Vancouver with the dmen.
  9. Looking at the stats for the North division, you’d think the Habs are beating up on the Sens. Habs 7-1-2, Sens 1-7-1. Habs +17. Sens -22 goal differential. Yet they haven’t met ... yet.
  10. I was just coming here to say that. a few plays I’ve been like - who’s doing that ... Petry? Say it ain’t so!!! fortunately it hasn’t cost anything yet. Surely he has given me all the panics he will for tonight - just getting them out of the way in the first. sluggish start to the game but momentum has been turning the right way every 5 minutes.
  11. If we were even 15 games in and he hadn’t played, or if Fleury got in before him, then I’d understand. but he jumped the gun. He needed to wait a little longer. MB is going for a deep playoff run and won’t blink.
  12. Seriously. I mean the Habs aren’t going to go all season without an injury to a dman. He was going to get his shot. Plus, with a busy week ahead and now a loss, I would have expected some lineup changes. poor timing victor. Poor timing.
  13. I thot Habs looked bad period 1. Looked good with no finish period 2. Being down only 1-0 I like the trajectory for period 3.
  14. Danault getting greedy - hopefully he nets one soon so he can revert back to his normal self again.
  15. Maybe cuz no one is calling for CJ to be fired? what’s this? Can it be? Do the oddities of 2020 continue into 2021 with a Habs forum 100% in support of their HC? Don’t pinch me! I don’t want to wake up!
  16. Doesn’t feel like it’s just a hot start tho to me - but I completely hear ya! Feels more like we are building on the bubble play by adding skilled scoring and continued development of the kids. I know it would be foolish to think there isn’t a slump on the horizon where we aren’t thinking Dubois would look good up the middle. One thing I had thought was with no one attending games at the bell centre it might be an ideal opportunity to bring in a French superstar. I think for me, tho I’d have pulled the trigger on a Dubois/KK one for one swap, to give up more seemed to not be worth the potential cap/roster headaches. I like the way the team seems to be constructed - the time to sit back and watch them play is now IMO.
  17. This feels like a trade we would have regretted had we made it. It’s just not the time to disrupt the chemistry. KK may never be Dubois, but we seem to have a team that clicks - let’s ride it out and see what happens. Momentum matters - and I’m not sure it should be messed with in a short season.
  18. Not gonna lie - as I’m reading the list I’m looking for Lee ... then I see your last sentence referencing him. I’m not big on conspiracies and I feel refs are as impartial as they can be ... but we seem to have just too much Lee history for me to think that’s true about him. He formed an opinion thinking we were yappy and flopping and true or not back then, I don’t think he has a short memory or forgiving spirit.
  19. I’d love to know what Anderson thinks of PLD.
  20. I am. It’s working on my phone. I missed the first 2 minutes of the game trying to get it up on my tv. It’s only working on my phone. I assumed I’m doing something wrong.
  21. He didn’t stand out in the game I saw, but that’s not a shot. He was good. Didn’t see a gaffe. It was an afternoon game in the second of a back to back. The whole team wasn’t sharp - also perhaps because Youngstown isn’t winning this year so they didn’t bring their A game. That said - he seemed to win every single face off. Also his line seemed to play other positions - like he didn’t take every face off and sometimes during the shift, he was playing wing.
  22. I’m at the Chicago Steel game today to see Farrell in person. Go phantoms, but Farrell can score a few for the Steel lol
