  1. Thanks man. I was just a lurker for the last while, just everytime I wanted to say something, someone would say it before me I do love discussions, this is the best place for habs talk. As aside does anyone else go to other teams blogsites and read what they say about the habs after a loss? Haha....yeah me neither >.>
  2. You are a smart guy Brian, but I don't see things the same way as you. Taking time away from a developing player to give it to a 3rd line at best plug is just a recipe for disaster. I will never understand this need for coaches to 'break in' young players. Play the players that are your future, develop them sure, but so many times I've seen players make one mistake and get benched, how is that for development. As to thinking he doesn't take criticism, I haven't seen any proof of this, except for a player looking out for his career because he dislikes his current org. I wish they would do away with ELC, imagine being stuck in a job you hated, but you couldn't go find a new job for x amount of years.
  3. This is a young players league, I can respect players that want to take their career in their own hands. I used to respect contracts, but really, owners can trade your contract without a second thought, so if you think you're getting a shitty end of the deal, speak up for yourself. The NHL is stuck in this 'sit down rookie do as your told' bullcrap, I'm glad he's taking it to the bolts. The bolts are dumb if they refused his request to not play, you can hate his agents methods but sitting out and not playing for an organization that you will have no part of in the future is smart business. We as fans forget that this is a business, and rookies get paid like dirt (I mean not compared to us, they make tons, but to other players in the league), and if he got hurt, you think the bolts would 'support' him for the rest of his career? Nah, they'd dump him on the side of the road like orgs do with all players they don't want anymore.
  4. I am with you, this is a watershed moment for me.
  5. Did you pour cold water on my hand Dr. Penfield?

  7. I don't think many were complaining that Gauthier/Martin wasn't ripping their players in the media. The game has changed and old techniques have to change, I do not agree with ripping players in the media. Well, I'll turn the question on you then DON, what is the benefits of ripping players in the media? What is Subban went and said "..the coachs line choices are terrible, why am I not on the ice more...etc etc", ripping into the coach? CH would be up and arms about being disrespectful to the coach and he'd be on the first bus out of town.
  8. I can't see any tactical value in giving the media MORE ammunition against a player they already love to hate on in Subban. Out of touch coach using out of touch tactics.
  9. Montreal is the city that eats it's own, I'm not surprised at how MTtreats one of their best players, he was a douche with Eller a few weeks ago, no matter the Xs and Os (which I beleive he lacks in), I'm not happy with his lack of standing up for his players, I wish for the days when Bob Gainey took reporters to task over Price. Stupid, old coaches stuck in stupid, old ways of 'motivation' and realizes that respect should go both ways now, this isn't college football where coaches are god, this is a partnership between players and coaches; the quickest way to lose that trust is use the media and embarass a player.
  10. How do you expect someone to 'shine' in 3-4 games to get a promotion to a higher line when they're on a grinder line. It's been a bad stance for years, stop bringing up players unless they are in the role which suits them. I'm not going to rehash the same old debate that goes on and on, I just agree with Commandant in his assessment.
  11. The fact he USED to be this way was the reason he was on RDS for years. This is the NEW NHL, old tricks and motivational tools of younger players should be seen not heard is so outdated. I'm mroe frustrated at MT lack of respect in sticking up for his players than the loss last night.
  12. Another thing I want to mention, is if you want to talk about the code MT, how about sticking up for your player, you douchebag! For all your waxing poetically about 'your captain' crying in your arms last year, I hope you have your drivers license for the BUS you just RAN Lars Eller over with. You preach 'give no bulletin board material', yet you forget your own hockey code of 'defend your players in public, call them out privately'. I'm not saying he should be fired over this, but this is a very telling reaction to a coach, I don't always feel has the players best interests at heart.
  13. Dallas Eakins should do more coaching then shit-talking in his end-of-game presser. He responded with a 'slight' by Eller, by then insulting Eller, real high road coach. We as fans bemoan the Sidney Crosbys of the world with their cliché that when a player speaks the truth we're all like.."dont give them motivation", really as someone mentioned earlier, if you NEED motivation to play this game, then just retire.
  14. I'd like to take blame for the 1-2 start this season. I watched the Leafs game in english on CBC, we lost. I watched the Flyers game in french on RDS, we won. I watched the Flames game in english on TSN, we lost. Please forgive me Habs brothers, I will stick to RDS from now on.
  15. I never thought Briere was needed, and I still contest he isn't, same with Murray. This is a young kid league, there's too much stock in 'vets', sacrificing skill for experiences is a trade that is rooted in tradition more than reality.
  16. Pluses: - EGG line looked great. - Penalty kill looked great - Price made a lot of highlight saves - Tinordi is a monster - Loved the way the team stuck up for each other Minues: - The reffin' was terrible, I hope they look back on this game and are disappointed in their performance - Briere, Pax and DD looked like shit - Price needs to work on blocker, he gets beat there a lot - Gionta and Borque were invisible, Plek deserves better, but he played bad tonight too. - The cube needs to be replaced, we need more offense from the D position.
  17. Do you mean Parros is not that far from returning or his recovery is not that far along?
  18. I'm referring to where you said to trade DD, Moen and/or Gionta.
  19. I think sometimes fans over rate the ability to 'just trade X,Y,Z, players for draft picks'. You cannot assume there is a market for players, especially this season when the cap has been lowered.
  20. Haha wow CC, you have soome hate on for AK.
  21. Solid line mates? He had Gally and Pax most of the season, how is that not good linemates? I don't dislike DD, I love what he's done, but he's the worst of the short guys on montreal, if Gionta is a no touch and Gally is obviously, then DD has to be moved, if you are of the opinion that the habs are too small. Here is a offseason change that doesn't involve player movement, how about MT have some faith in the kids and let them play. I look at other rookies in the league getting 17-19 mins per game and then you see Gally and Galch get like 9-13, give them time to make mistakes and learn from them.
  22. I'll try to find updated lines a little later.

  24. I really believe that Prust relagated to 4th line duty is a waste of resources, he can take a regular shift, has decent hands, etc.
