I thought I'd add a little musical choice as a theme for the game, and I really think it will be a knock-down,drag-out brawl of a game, so I chose a song with the title "Only for the weak" - by the band In Flames, enjoy :)

  3. Changed.

    I'll getcha one day bar!

Also, upon looking at my profile, I apparently have 1 "warning points" but nothing telling me why?

Yeah I had one warning point too, I asked Brian about it and there was no reference to why it was there, maybe a glitch in the system?

  6. The Habs fans are back to classic form! We win four straight, play a game back to back, and play our back up, and surprise surprise, we lose. Obviously, after reading this board and HIO's these comments are overreactions:

-Budaj should be waved after being a sieve in his first game in 9 months.

-Ryan White should be sat or off the team.

-The teammates don't want PK back

***Budaj sucks, let's face it. Not every team has Roberto Luongo, Robin Lehner or Brian Elliot as a back up. You take what you can get, but this performance was very bad, especially on the fourth goal.

***Regarding Ryan White. This was a bad call. His stick was held, and he was given a roughing and an unsportsmanlike, which was unnecessary for him to complain, and for the ref to give. First of all, the referees this year are calling the NHL like a woman's league. I wonder if they want these guys to play with something other than sticks? Second of all, White drives that fourth line. He is a good fourth line center, wins a lot of faceoffs, and is awesome on the forecheck. Should we give his spot to Lars Eller, or beg Andreas Enqvist to return from the KHL? If you think we need "more production" out of a fourth line center, well, you don't understand the purpose of a fourth line. Third of all, we need guys like White, he sticks up for teammates, and every good team needs an agitator. His penalties will be less transparent once PK comes back and the penalty kill comes together.

***Teammates don't want PK. Everyone needs to give the guy a break. Management is already on his ass after screwing him on a contract. They seem to want PK to be something else, he is a total player, a franchise player, and we divest so much of the time to send him to rural hockey "finishing school" where players are taught to be humble, unquestioning, and quiet. Why he wants to play here at all is a mystery to me.

Well said...after all the comments from habs fans, media, current players, former players/coaches, I'm not sure why ANYONE would want to play here, let alone someone of the personality, thats right PERSONALITY of Subban. Personality is something that is so frowned upon in hockey circles, want to be happy after scoring a goal? Too bad, sit down and shut up rookie, how dare you be exciting and bring fans to their feet. You also better not be funny and engaging in interviews, back in our day we had to give 7-8 clichés each interview or we were in the press box. I am so sick of MT talking about how he wants to improve PK as a human being and he has to buy into the team system, like he's some sort of alien, what a load of bull. The habs are going to take a prized stallion and turn it into a riding pony.

  8. It also serves no purpose to beleive everything read or said by the media. Plus, I'm in the group that thinks the old guard of hockey is what lead to this sometimes boring brand of hockey; I don't want it to reach NBA level promotion, but I am sick to death of the Sidney Crosby boring monotone, bullcrap interviews.

  9. The media showed Gorges and Markov. Markov who's known to be stern with the media and Gorges, who couldn't be any closer to the archtype of the hockey player interview, reading too much into this would be crazy.

I can't for the life of me understand peoples attitude that Subbans ego is out of control? He wants a fair deal? Man the ego on that kid. Likes to celebrate when he scores important goals? TRADE HIM! He's part of the new age player that wants to bring excitement back to the game. Younger players realize fans want that, they want the excitement of goal celebrations, that promoting themselves, benefit the team and therefore the bottom line with teams and will lead to greater salary caps.

  10. It's certainly not because other defensemen are overpaid that it makes sense to do the same thing with our players. Quite the contrary, we have a GM who has a cool head and doesn't want to follow bad examples.

    Way to go Marc!

So who determines whats overpaying, by what scale are you using to measure worth? If you are not using other products (players) as a scale how can you determine whether or not Subban was over or underpaid?

  11. So. All the panic proved groundless.

'Hard feelings' might be an issue, but only if PK is one pigheaded SOB. He gets almost 4 mil next year - as Commandant says, the year when it counts - and that is fair value for a #2 RFA defenceman. Meanwhile, his cap hit is friendly. This really does look like a win-win. Good job MB

I don't share your view of a fair deal for Subban, I'm just happy to have him signed. If you want a funny read, go look up all the d-men in the league making $4 million or more a year and compare them to Subban and tell me if you still think it's a fair deal for him :)
