  1. finally some sense. we need proven studs. we cant have a full line up 1st 2nd and 3rd year players and also contend for the cup.

you need balance. youth experience grit speed flare and balls

What is up with all this "stud" terminology around here recently? Do we all know what a stud it? A stud is a horse that was formerly great at competition or racing, but that now no longer does anything aside for mating. A stud is also used for a guy who gets a lot of female action. Or it is something you stick in to your ear or leather jacket.

Maybe what we need is a proven player/center etc. But unless we are wanting to mate some formerly good players, and hope that they will become great hockey players withing the next 20 years, then I really don't get this stud thing. Anyway, whatever works for y'all!

I hope we do get a legitimate #1 center ... that would really solve a serious issue. Koivu as a #2 would be awesome. Also, getting some of our D prospects over here is a must.

And maybe trading either Huet or Halak for something good .... hmmm ... I hope this offseason is productive.

  2. From what everyone has been saying about Price, his responding to the AHL playoffs, and the value of the experience he is gaining right not, I wonder how hard it will be to send him back to the AHL? I wouldn't want to rush him, but if he is ready, keeping him down is silly.

If they are confident in his ability to play with the big club we will have some most excellent trade bait ... especially for a team like the Lightning who need a bonafide first string goalie, and need to unload some of their high priced players. I'm sure we'd have to throw something else in to the deal, but Huet was an Allstar goalie, and had very good stats last year.

I'm stoked to see Price in training camp ... and I really hope that he dominates the finals next week!

Good little youtube video on him here:

  3. I didn't like Soviet Union's view on old buildings. They tore down all the cool castles, buildings and etc to replace it with boring simplistic buildings.

Not too sure which buildings you are referring to, but if they did tear down castles then it was probably more to do with rejecting the old ideals of royalty, the aristocracy, and the Bourgeois.

All those new "ugly" buildings were probably government owned, and therefore, in theory at least, by the people too.

Also, it should be remembered that Communists generally reject formalism in preference for utilitarianism, and therefore architectural beauty is moot.

BTW, I'd love it is the Predators were moved to Canada ... although it would surprise me as it would signal that the NHL had given up on its ambitions to fully penetrate the US market.

  4. Very good news.

"####" is a stupid nickname, he should be called something else. Once Samsonov is gone he can be "Serge"

Serge is a boring nickname ... Lil' #### brings a smile to my face.

Good signing. The future does look bright!

  5. I defenitly agree with all of this. Specially Ferland and Milroy back down 18-19. They'll both never make NHL. Sorry but the future is D'Agostini, Kost brothers and Grabovski, maybe Chipchura.

I'd be pretty surprised if Chipchurra doesn't make it to the NHL.

    Good, if not self-evident, list.

  6. To attack the parents of a child who has died is cruel.

what is wrong with you guys.

Actually, if anyone is getting attacked it is the Spin Doctors of the Sens. This is a fluff story ... it is designed to make you feel sad about something tragic, and yet good about what the Sens are doing. It is exploitation of a sad situation.

Unless the kid was a child prodigy, then I doubt that he had the intellectual capacity to have a favorite team ... or even have a solid concept of the NHL. He like the Sens because his parents did ... or because the team took him out on the ice and paid attention to him. He probably received as much joy from it as the concept of Dinausaurs ...

Conclusion (for those with short memories): young children dying of cancer is really tragic.

  7. I don't know anything about the contract, nor Russian law, but it seems to me that unreasonable delays in payment can still be seen as breach of contract. So, if Emelin really wanted to get out, I don't think that late payment would necessarily stop him, unless he felt compelled to stay there out of loyalty.

    My 2 cents.

  8. Those are nice, er, second lines.

    Higgins-Briere-Plecks???

    Maybe dreaming with Briere.

You know what, if the Habs had 3 # 2 lines next year, and 1 shut-down/energy line, then I would think that was dandy.

I'd be surprised if we end up getting a quality A-1 center via trade this summer. I don't think that Gainey wants to mortgage the future quite yet.

    Higgins-Plecks-Kostitsyn

    Ryder - Koivu - Latendress

Samsonov - Grabovsky - Kovalev (don't think those two are heading anywhere unless we get junk back)

    Begin - Chippchura -Johnson

  9. Yes, but when I already don't like the team...

So your lack of support has nothing to do with the woman being assaulted. Had it happened in the hometown of our favorite team, by fans of your favorite team, it wouldn't make you not support them right?

I think you should change the title to "just one more reason I don't like the Sens" or something like that.

  10. I'm sure every team has a skeleton in their closet, either on the team, or with their fans. How many teams have booed National Anthems? How many teams have fans who have gotten in to fights, or talk sh1t to the other team's fans? How many team's fans have vandalized things?

Now, what happened was pretty sad (although she talking shit about the Senators in their own building is kinda stupid), however, saying that it justifies not supporting the Senators playoff drive makes absolutely no sense.

"I'm not going to support X team because they have stupid fans!" Therefore, you will not support any team. Montreal, IMO, has some of the stupidest fans. These people harass their own players to the point that the players need holidays, or do not want to sign here.

  11. lol..

You always make posts like that.

"Team X will not win the Stanley Cup."

"Player X will not sign with so and so."

Always make the predictions that have a 90% chance of being true. Where are your guts!? :P

Actually, I'd much rather read something that has 90% chance of being true, then someone blowing wind out there butt about something that has a 3% chance of being true. Everyone has an opinion, or can speculate ... why would you want to read it? NYR will win the SC, no, VC will. No way, SJS will ... blah, blah, blah. Tell me something that is 90% true any day over speculation.

And, on that note, I hope the Senators win. Go Canadian team go .... but if they don't, I don't care. Once the Habs were eliminated I became more interested in the Bulldogs ... go DOGS go!!!

  12. now THAT is what you call too much info!! yuck! :puke:

Believe you me, I could offer up a lot more!

I always find it amusing how certain people can have an adverse reaction to a word like scrotum, but are just fine with groin. Scrotum is included in the groin area!

  13. I've had a hernia, me thinks that's worse.

I ripped my scrotum open on a handlebar of a bicycle while jumping a gap ... now as interesting as that is to the general population, what does it have to do with Kostitsyn and his possible return?

If he did tear his groin, I would hope that they rehabilitate him fully first. I don't think he would come back unless he were 100%.

    Go Dawgs GO!
