  1. My two favorites we, incROYable, and ####.
  2. Nope, optimistic possibly. But what I said is the truth ... unless we get good goaltending from Halak, we won't even make the playoffs (very little confidence in Addie ... never have had any), and if we don't get a good 1/2 center, we may as well throw in the towel, because getting by the second round would be overly ambitious. We are close to being a contender, but that 1/2 center is a sticking point. So is our Goalie sit too now, but I'm praying on Halak.
  3. What do we do if we dominate without Kovalev, when he returns? His slackadaisical approach to hockey can rally affect a team. Guys like Milroy and Begin pump up a team with their enthusiasm. Maybe Carbo should sit him down and say, "look Kovy, you are a little like Neo in the first Matrix, and I am the Oracle. I'm telling you that you have the skills, but you are waiting for something. For what, I don't know. But we need to win, so unless you start givin' her, then you may as well stay at home and collect you $$$. Eat the boards, or eat cheesos and watch from home." Glad too see the boys get consequitive victories. And hopefully Higgins is ok for Nashville. Also, like everyone to note that after tonight we have 4 players with a legitimate shot of getting 20 goals. Souray already has it, Ryder needs one more, Koivu is 3 away, and Higgins is 5 away (he missed lots of time too).
  4. Woh there tiger ... don't want to get too euphoric of only two little wins .... because if we lose the next one you may come crashing down, and hard. The losing streak is over ... not certain whether the losing sequence is. Lets give them a few more games, and a few more challenges that BlueJackets and the Capitals. Nashville will be a good test, as will the Maple Leafs coming up soon.
  5. Yeah, don't count on Quebec going Green, Liberal, NDP, or Conservative. If anything they would go Liberal, but they are still hurting from the sponsorship program. They need to get burnt by something else before they go Liberal again ... unless Charest kicks it again, and then runs for PM himself. Onz vera!
  6. Not a surprise really, after the annoucement of surgery on his hamstring, to expect him back before then end of the season would be overly ambitious. The good news is that the injury isn't as bad as previously thought ... which is good for his rehabilitation, and his long term flexibility. Good luck Huet!
  7. To give him another look. Also, Rivet is still a maybe for the weekend, so it could be two games. And, if he is doing well, and Samsonov is still sucking, he could go to the minors. But I'm not the GM ... I'd just like to see Kostitsyn to get his just dessert.
  8. What, only one person allowed on IR at a time? Because rivet won't be coming back for a little bit. Last I heard he was still trying to get back in to shape, and was looking at next weekend at the earliest.
  9. Apparently he left because he was bruised ... hmmm, stil sounds fishy. Onz vera!
  10. You seem to be the trivia master Any word on if Kostitsyn has been called up yet to replace Begin? Or will it be Grabovski? As far as I am concerned, the kids are alright!
  11. I don't think so, when he got his 20th, the announcers said he was the first Habs D in 15-20 years to get 20 goals. But, I am not trivia master. League record has to be WAY higher than 22 or 25.
  12. Cut the mustard doesn't make sense as an expression. What you mean is "cut the muster". Muster means to gether together, as in "I must muster my strength". In miliatey terms, muster means a roll-call where troops must assemble for inspection. If they do not pass or cut the muster, they are not properly dressed, postured, or otherwise. They are, therefore, not worthy of inspection, and must try again (after a hundred or so push-ups).
  13. If Halak doesn't shine, and if we don't get a second line center, we will not shine in the playoffs. So, unless these two issues are dealt with, we may as well rent Souray (if the price is right), and then re-sign him in the off-season.
  14. for sure it is a chick! Strummerman comes from "strum her man", like play him like a guitar, softly, yet pricisely, then hard and fast. You know ... instrument style, like an organ.
  15. Puck drops at 7:00 PM Here is hoping that Kostitsyn gets many a point this evening. First day back was a bit of rust and only one point ... but lets see if he gets back in stride for game #2. Also, looking for Grabovsky to improve too now that he is on his 3 rd game back from a slight knee injury.
  16. Why are you even discussing the Ducks? They are loaded with good D. Is there something I am missing here? Or is this discussion based completely on the fact that Anaheim is close to his kid?
  17. He know has 100 points on the season, and is within 3 of Sam Gagne. That kid Kane though has 121 points. How great would it be to get him in the draft and then have Sergei and Kane in the AHL together next season?
  18. Been hearing rumours about getting a goalie. Bad idea, IMO. If Halak doesn't step up, or Danis, then we are pretty much through anyway for this season. We have to rely on the goaltending we have and get a center, or prospects and give everything up for the season beyond development. Minny goalie mentioned: bouchard. Phily: Esche. Sharks: Tolska (doubt this one) ... and a few other losers including Belfour and Lalime. Hope we make no more goalie trades, unless it is Abie for another better Goalie ... of course we would have to give something up in that situation.
  19. Don't expect Anaheim to pick up Sourey. They are loaded with D at this point. I'd expect the Sharks or another team to want him.
  20. Why not? Because you don't think they could handle it? Or because that would leave the Bulldogs in a bad position? Personally I think they could do it, but for the good of their organization they ought to keep at least one of them in the AHL. And if Halak stumbles, or doesn't do amazing, they could send him down and call up Danis possibly (unless their is some stupid waiver one of them would have to pass).
  21. I think that Ducks, Buffalo, and Hurricanes are the front runners. But, I'm hoping that Bob will spin so magik and get us some good prospects for Souray and Kovalev (or Samsonov) and that we are a dark horse by the end of the season.
  22. Totally agree! We need a very good center if we are ever going to get anywhere. Grabovski may be the one, but a nice big one would be good too. We have the rights to a couple of great Russian D: Alexei Emelin and Pavel Valentenko; and Ryan O'Byrne could be up sometime next season.
  23. Well I hope that he would be fine with being a rent a player for some prospects. Honestly, this is not the year for the Habs. If we get past the first round I will be surprised.
