  1. From Pat Hickey: http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/news...4e-d1c94c3a0221 According to him Lahti and Degon were qualified. The Canadiens press release (found on canadiens.com) does not include Lahti or Degon on their list of qualified players.
  2. Thanks. Test# centre...what the hell? why does this message board switch the spelling of c e n t e r automatically? centre centre
  3. Apparently it might be Urquhart going the other way so it's a centre for a centre (Urquhart was still playing centre correct?). But I was thinking the same thing after the addition of Trotter. For some reason this site changes the spelling of C E N T E R to Centre on its own.
  4. Did you name yourself after the band Mineral?
  5. I haven't posted here in a long time. This is the first time in quite the while that I came over to check out the boards even...looks as though things are running smoothly still. haha. Crazy habs fans.
  6. RDS has a short one, One Kostitsyn goal and one latendresse from Kostitsyn goal.
  7. http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/232090.html The Hammer. Anyone care to translate please?
  8. So glad the Habs did not give him 8 years...
  9. I kind of like Sutton. Obviously Timonen as well..but I think he will remain with the Preds. Hannan would be nice depending on the contract.
  10. I think these are the main ones...I might have missed a few. Player - Age Souray 30 Timonen 32 Rafalski 33 Stuart 27 Hamrlik 33 Hannan 28 Preissing 28 Rivet 32 Schneider 37 D. Markov 30 Chelios 45 Numminen 38 Sydor 35 Poti 30 Sutton 32 De Vries 34 Vaananen 26 Sopel 30 O’Donnell 35 Tjarnqvist 30
  11. I heard he might actually become a UFA? Can anyone explain how this process works?
  12. I am completely content with this deal. .250 higher than I thought he might get but the truth is, without him the Habs are screwed. Also, there are no replacements in this years UFA crop.
  13. My bad. Sorry mods, I looked in the Habs talk and prospect talk...didn't think to check the NHL forum first.
  14. According to TSN http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=208965&hubname=nhl
  15. I don't buy into Eklund at all but the possibility of moving Saku is interesting. If it made the team better, sure, but I would be much happier if the Habs picked up a legit first line center which would allow Koivu to fall into the second line center spot (I think he would excel with less pressure).
  16. True. And if they did sign a top line center and Plekanec is back on the 3rd (where, as stated above, he will be very effective) that will help out big time. I guess I'm just disappointed that a kid with potential has packed it in (maybe he will return)..especially considering the time, money etc that went into developing him. Thats all. There is a chance that Gainey won't be able to lure high-end UFA talent here though.
  17. Ferland is a career AH'er Chipchura could probably use another year in Hamilton Milroy is also probably a career AHL'er fill in fourth liner S. Kostitsyn is no where near being ready 1 million for a UFA to play on the 3rd line is one million less the Habs can spend else where. Sure, Perezhogin might have disappointed in the points department but he was a solid third liner who was the best backchecker on the team. Also, the potential was there for more...but my main point is that the Habs have lost a bit of depth now...one more player that they have to try and replace...that is why I don't see it as positive. So continue to roll your eyes if that makes you feel good but I still see this as a negative thing
  18. Home as in Belarus? Or do you mean back in Hamilton?
  19. I said earlier that I understand that sometimes picks don't turn out, doesn't mean it doesn't suck when it happens. As for Perezhogin, I saw a lot of potential in the kid and he fit in well on the third line. I don't see any prospects that can step up and do what he did this up coming season. I'm hoping Kostitsyn gets top 6 and I think he will flourish if given the opportunity. But with Bonk and Johnson probably gone (maybe not) the third line has to be re-built basically and the Habs don't have the prospects to do this..it will have to be through UFA's which will probably end up costing more. Im not saying they should have matched the offer and over-paid Perezhogin I just think this might cause a bit of trouble filling spots. Losing depth is never a good thing.
  20. This is what I find odd..that people see this as a positive thing...even if you hated Perezhogin and in your opinion, thought he was overrated, well then the Habs wasted a first round pick. Indifference I can understand, but being happy about it?
