  1. Actually, I am interested to see the lineup. Could Montreal actually start Plek at the number 1 centre position? It is going to take a total TEAM effort to win this game.
  2. So much crying for Hainsey and Hossa on this board. They are gone, time to move on. Hossa and Hainsey would be an upgrade in Montreal for some guys that turned out to be duds, but not much of an upgrade. I hope both guys do well for their teams and Montreal fans can move on. Once healthy again, lets see what the current guys can do. In the loss to Ottawa with so many people out, and so many guys taking the night off, Montreal was in that game for 1.5 periods. Even down by 3 goals is not a guaranteed win. I have hopes that they will beat Buffalo tonight and get out of the slump. Go Habs Go
  3. What about Kyle McLaren on the sharks? Do you think they want to take the chance losing two defenseman but might need to move salary? They did go up $1.6Million on their cap. I know Montreal is a young team, however I want to see someone clear the damn net in front of Theo before he gets injured.
  4. Well this just sucks. Time for someone else on the team to play better than the last 3 games. GO HABS GO.
  5. "I think most people would say they are surprised that the Bruins did not get a number one centre coming back in the deal. They got a very good defenceman in Brad Stuart and a good winger in Marco Sturm and they got a good utility player in Wayne Primeau but they don't have a number one centre on their team. Alexi Zhamnov might be the number one centre now with zero goals in nine games." - Bob McKenzie http://tinyurl.com/9fjax Bob McKenzie summed up how I look at the trade. Joe Thorton on a good team is really going to play havoc against other teams. All of us Canadien fans can say Montreal owned him in the playoffs, but look at Boston's second or third lines. They were all right just not dominant. Boston lost this trade and since it looks like cost cutting to me, is Murray or Samsonov next? [Edited on 2005/12/1 by Howie_Morenz]
  6. Spider-Man NL, COOL action shots to start the thread! These pics always make the thread excellent as I get revved up for the game. Hopefully Montreal practiced shooting skills and will score many goals to beat the Sabres. GO :hlogo: GO
  7. Thanks Leafs Suck. I always forget the other two Leaf Fans want to include. But that would be a fair trade for Joe wouldnt it?:lol:
  8. A good question. My answer would be OOOPPPSSS....
  9. No kidding! and then some. That would be something like Montreal trading Koivu away to some other team for three third liners. All I can say on Boston's behalf is YUCK! Hi shortcat1, can we quote you on "YUCK"? It really does sum up what what I think of the trade. Bruin fans though probably have tougher words.
  10. Thanks for the link Bulis_the_Habbie. I noticed "Your Call" feedback was up for less than 5 minutes. Must of been overloaded with LeafNAZI fans saying how come we couldn't trade Berg straight up.
  11. It is interesting that this trade will free up some cash for the B's. Man what are they doing trading Joe? I was kinda hoping Montreal was trying to get Stuart. Other posts on this board got me right interested in this guy.
  12. 6 less times we have to see him this year. Interesting, his first game will be against the elfs on Saturday. How very interesting. But you're right, this was shocking. When they said blockbuster I thought "Please be the Habs"... but I seriously wasn't expecting Thornton. Maybe he asked for a trade, I dunno. Me Too. I thought they were going to say the Habs because of the suspensions and injuries the Habs have right now. Not that I was wishing for this, just thinking about it...
  13. I love these TSN or LEAFS SUCK Threads. They make me feel all warm inside because they are true!!!!!!
  14. They have Zhamnov (injured) and Bergeron. Yes, they traded the franchise though their overall team value might be a little better. If they got a new franchise player they would be a great team. But franchise players don't grow on trees. Pretty much, they gave up on the season. You are absolutely right. Boston acquired much depth because all three players are good players. But to lose JOE THORTON! All I have to say is Great Ceasars Ghost, What are they thinking?????
  15. good post ~moeman, they mentioned this on the Leaf game and actually it took over the talk instead of usual Leaf crap. By the way if anyone does not know, LEAFS LOSE TO TAMPA! Boston was robbed on this deal as they have no centres now and traded the franchise.
  16. The way he played the last few games 7th is being very generous.
  17. Nah, we only hate the hockey team you claim to "SUCK"
  18. WoW, so many rumors.... I must be living in a cave... Oh I do, LeafNAZI land. They still don't know the CFL season is over.:)
  19. My bad, he wasn't on the roster I was looking at, since he's hurt. I only looked over it breifly for ages. Still, he isn't exactly considered young talent. Don't get me wrong, I think he's easily our best D-man and a great player. My main point is that the Habs are nearly devoid of young talent along the blueline. Nobody in the farm system is very good, and we have only a few long shots in terms of junior age players. Not at all. Look at the situation the Habs have on D! Wouldn't you rather have Hainsey than Cote? They have 2 more games where they are only going to be able to dress 5 D-men. Hainsey is better than nothing. Without him, he was no D-men in the minors who are good enough to keep this team a contender. There is a reason they called him back up, because he was their best D-man down in Hamilton. Behind him is Cote, who doesn't deserve to be in the NHL. OK, I get your point now. You are right that the farm team is not that strong with defensive talent. Hainsey was probably the best at this time but realistically he is not a good hockey player. I watched a few Bulldog games on the Tube (Lucky to live close to Hamilton) and he only seemed interested in spurts. I really wonder if he wants to play hockey? Kind of strange for someone that was drafted so high. HE does have talent as when he tried to play well, he was a different player. But life without Hainsey goes on and Montreal has to deal with the guys they have. What do you think of Dandenault? When Montreal signed him I asked myself Why? Was Gonchar not available? Must be a money thing.
  20. Glad to see I was not alone with this. I thought Montreal would have had a little more activity than just Dandenault. Maybe something will be in the works after being shutout. The 4 - 0 loss to Ottawa was bad, but not as bad as it could have been since Ottawa is an Elite team.
  21. Where are all these young defenders? Name one decent defender (besides Komisarek) the Habs have in the organization who is under 29 years old. Look at the guys we put out on the ice last night! Streit and Cote? Get real. Those guys have no business being in the NHL. As much depth the organization has at the forward position, that is how weak it is on defence. The loss of Hainsey hurts, because he at least had potential and was decent enough to pitch in if the NHL squad needed him. Look at Hamilton. There are no defenders down there who I am confortable with having on an NHL roster. Fanpuck33, you said losing Hainsey hurts? You were kidding right....
  22. That is so sad, I can only offer my best wishes to him and his family.
  23. As usual Leafs Suck you are right. He is an upgrade offensively. Problem is he is a fourth forward on the ice and Montreal does not have a stud defenceman to back up his rushing the other teams net. Normally I would say do it if Montreal was strong defensively, but right now Souray is average defensively where Ozolinsh is YIKES! With a big Y. (I like Ozolinsh) [Edited on 2005/11/30 by Howie_Morenz]
  24. Huselius salary is what? Would it fit into the habs payroll? Just curious as Hainsey is going to cost $250-300,000 I bellieve.
  25.:clap: I cannot say anything more than what JMMR posted. Well done
