  1. Permanent Rumour Thread

I think he should get some interest but he turns 25 partway through this coming season which may scare a few teams off when it comes to his upside. He looks more like a 3/4 goalie than a possible backup now. It's telling that the Habs didn't try to sign him before trading him to Edmonton and then the Oilers didn't even offer him a contract. I wonder if he'll have to settle for an AHL deal as a result.
  2. Permanent Rumour Thread

It sounds like Carolina is the top contender at this point which is an odd choice for someone who wants to get NHL time quickly.
  3. Permanent Rumour Thread

Yes, it's Jimmy Murphy but it is the middle of the summer when rumours (from credible sources or not) are hard to find. He has the Habs as a team interested in Chase Priskie. https://bostonhockeynow.com/2019/08/15/could-a-bruins-rival-land-prized-ncaa-ufa-chase-priskie/
  4. Injury news

Joel Teasdale is out at least 7 months due to a torn ACL and MCL. Surgery will be required (likely when the swelling subsides enough to actually do it). https://www.nhl.com/canadiens/news/joel-teasdale-out-for-a-minimum-of-seven-months-due-to-a-knee-injury/c-308550130
  5. Non-Rocket Habs Prospect tracker

In a move that has been expected for a few years now, the Habs officially parted ways with Nikolas Koberstein yesterday. http://www.habsworld.net/2019/08/habs-relinquish-the-rights-to-nikolas-koberstein/
  6. Stuff moved from the Rumour thread that isn't rumours

They basically already were. CapFriendly was using Elite Prospects' stats already; about the only difference I can see is now there's a CapFriendly link on an Elite Prospects player profile (instead of having the cap hit as uncredited).
  7. Stuff moved from the Rumour thread that isn't rumours

In an effort to keep the rumour thread about rumours, I've split a lot of the talk from the last couple of weeks into here. Proceed (preferably without the same few up/downvoting simply because of who's posting and not the actual post quality...).
  8. 2019 NHL Offseason Thread

Shattenkirk to Tampa Bay, one year and $1.75MM. That's a really nice pickup for them although they may have to go make another cap dump trade unless they force Point onto a bridge deal. They're also at 49 contracts with Point (and Adam Erne) to re-sign so they'll have to trade a player or two to get into contract compliance as well.

I think they'll be okay just by burying a couple of players in the minors. Matt Hunwick and Casey Nelson come to mind. That would knock off nearly a couple of million from their cap and get them back under. I think they'd like to get rid of Scandella (to free up a spot for Jokiharju or Pilut) but a trade is probably their preferred route for him.
  11. 2019 HW NFL Pool

Our annual football pool has been renewed for its 18th season. Returning members have been sent invites to return through the email linked with their fantasy account. Let me know if you don't see it in your email (make sure the email address you have linked with your account is an active one). If you won't be able to play this year, let me know and I'll open the spot for someone else. If you haven't played before and would like to join, post a note here or send me a PM/email and if a spot opens up, I'll send off an invite.

It wouldn't reflect very well on them if they denied Mellanby an opportunity to get a promotion. He has interviewed with a few teams in the past for their GM job.

I feel the same way. Especially with the buyout window opening for NYR and CGY, it could be an interesting couple of days. (It looks like Shattenkirk will be turfed when the window opens up tomorrow.)
