  1. Even more now as he ran Lawson. Henry took him to task.
  2. Willsie scores on the PP to double the lead!
  3. 1-0 heading into the 2nd. Nattinen is having a good night physically with 5 hits while Engqvist is struggling at the faceoff dot (3/11).
  4. Stafford got his revenge of sorts, scoring a PPG to give Hamilton a 1-0 lead. It's Lawson vs Owuya between the pipes.
  5. There should need to be some sort of prediction designation with the proposal as well. The idea of this thread is to bounce ideas out there, that still needs to be the focus. Otherwise, we won't have many proposals. Thus, I suggest making sure you clearly identify your 'beer prediction' among other trade proposals/guesses.
  6. Hey, look...it's those guys again. Will there be retaliation for 'bottle-gate'? (Stafford does return from suspension just in time for this one...) Active scoring leaders: Goals: Ryan Hamilton (17) Assists: Mike Zigomanis (29) Points: Mike Zigomanis (39) +/-: Blacker/Paris (+10) PIMS: Kyle Neuber (107) Active scoring leaders: Goals: Andreas Engqvist (13) Assists: Garrett Stafford (17) Points: Aaron Palushaj (27) +/-: Andreas Engqvist (+9) PIMS: Zack FitzGerald (146) Puck drop is at 7:30 PM EST and can be listened to by clicking this link: http://cham.player.amri.ca/
  7. With the trade deadline soon approaching and most threads permeating into ideas of trades regardless of the original topic, I think it's time to have a proposal thread. So, here's a place where you can toss your ideas out there and get feedback. For those who wish to comment on offers, please try to be civil and constructive in any criticisms/discussion, we don't want any flame wars happening. That thought notwithstanding, have some fun with this, you never know what interesting ideas can be generated when tossing trade options out there.
  8. Some tweets to ponder on a relatively quiet day in the rumour mill: https://twitter.com/#!/BotchonCanucks/status/162573097390702592 https://twitter.com/#!/L_A_theRiver/status/162235954738888704 Nothing major but apparently Vancouver is one of the teams interested in Moen while the Habs and Kings have held talks.
  9. Yep. Jose Theodore was dealt on IR years ago, making me look like a complete idiot in the process having just posted my deadline preview a day or two earlier. As long as the acquiring team waives the right to a physical it can be done.
  10. They wanted a C and someone who could play the PK. Leblanc (now a RW) is neither of those. That's why they went with Engqvist.
  11. Despite not playing in the 2nd, Subban still isn't last in TOI. That goes to Engqvist. 15/18 Red Wings have a minus tonight, 14/18 Habs have a plus. On the downside, Tomas Plekanec has a 9% success rate on the draw tonight. He has a lower winning percentage than total faceoffs taken (11). Ouch.
  12. Stats of note in the period: - Detroit leads the Habs in the hit department, 12-1. - Emelin is an impressive +3 already. - The Wings are dominating in at the faceoff dot, 11/18 (61%). Engqvist (2/2) is the only Hab over 50%. - This was the first time Detroit allowed 4 goals in a period this year. - The Habs attempted 30 shots (12 on net, 11 blocked, 7 missed). That's 1.5 shot attempts per minute. I like that rate.
  13. And yet he was booed before, during, and after the play. I feel bad for him.
  14. There are 11 teams with scout accreditation at this one. Let the mindless speculation...continue.
  15. Lidstrom's a no-go for the Wings. I imagine Commodore will take his spot in the lineup.
  16. Once it gets within a few hours of game time, we've gotta get something up. If I'm working the day of a game, I try and post the GDT before, just to be safe. You can get the next one though to test your streak.
  17. Weber has been with Kaberle lately though. Of the 21:17 they've played together (of which 1 PPG has been scored in that time), 11:17 have been in the last 3 games Weber has suited up for.
  18. Can't say I disagree, Mike. It's evident Lawson isn't a long term solution and although Mayer had a really good stretch the last little bit, that seems to have been an aberration. Delmas has the best upside and with the Habs lacking in goalie depth, they need to see sooner or later what he can do. Fortunately he still has a couple years left on his deal, I'd have to think the plan is to keep him down for the rest of this year and then move up full time next year.
  19. Finally some good news on the injury front. It's not often we get to see that lately...
  20. Alright, folks. This is the 4th straight thread I've read where I've seen pot shots taken at other members. I don't mind the odd remark here and there as we all share a similar passion and the season has been frustrating; emotion can get the best of everyone. This has passed that stage now. Please refrain from 'getting into it' on a personal level with each other. If someone is instigating things, flag the post or send either myself or one of the mods a PM and we will take care of it. I hate getting involved in these things but I have been sent some notes with concerns lately about this and I share those. Let's just try to be a little more courteous and respectful of opinions. Thanks.
  21. To that on topic note, BlueKross, Bourque skated today after missing practice yesterday and is expected to play tonight. White, though he did skate, will not suit up (lack of game shape).
  22. Unfortunately Engqvist has cooled as of late but he still is the team leader in goals and +/- while playing as the #1 C. As he can also play the PK, he was the logical choice here.
  23. It doesn't appear that johnnyhasbeen is getting the GDT (guess he's got a winning feeling tonight) so I'll toss one together. Franzen-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi Filppula-Zetterberg-Hudler Miller-Helm-Cleary Emmerton-Abdelkader-Holmstrom Lidstrom*-White Kronwall-Stuart Ericsson-Kindl Howard Pacioretty-Desharnais-Cole Bourque-Plekanec-Gomez* Darche-Eller-Kostitsyn Engqvist-Blunden Gorges-Subban Kaberle-Emelin Gill-Diaz Weber Price * - player has the flu and is questionable. I'm guessing on the Hab lines as with Moen out, that will mess things up somewhat. Puck drop is at 7:30 on RDS, TSN (main network), and NBC SP (formerly known as Versus).
