  1. Bisaillon recalled to Hamilton, guessing he won't be available for the Rochester game though. The Bulldogs may have more D pairings than forward lines, yikes.
  2. I'm going to assume the Habs classified it as such as with Halpern/Plekanec down, it should qualify. Nothing in the press release that gave it that designation though. Knowing how the Habs have bungled this in the past, it wouldn't surprise me if they filed the wrong paperwork. Also, for those interested, Dawes will wear #34, while Palushaj, as some of you may recall, wears #51.
  3. If those 2 can't go, they'd be dressing 9 forwards and 7 D. I'm curious as to whether they can use PTO's now or not. If not, they better get in on the NCAA free agents now.
  4. Fresh off a loss and another player gone (Dumont to suspension), a theme we've seen far too often lately, the Bulldogs (35-24-7) travel to Rochester (30-31-6) to take on the team that just beat them last game, a 6-5 shootout that saw the rare occurrence of Robert Mayer actually playing somewhat well. Active scoring leaders: Goals: Wyman/Boyd (15) Assists: Brendon Nash (22) Points: J.T. Wyman (31) PIMS: Jimmy Bonneau (157) +/-: 3 tied at (+15) Active scoring leaders: Goals: McArdle/Kostka (13) Assists: Mike Kostka (35) Points: Mike Kostka (48) PIMS: Eric Selleck (191) +/-: A.J. Jenks (+5) Puck drop is at 7:05 PM EST and can be listened to by clicking this link: http://cham.player.amri.ca/
  5. The Bulldogs play tonight, does that count?
  6. My bad, the player Dumont hit suffered a cracked vertebrae...gee, where have I heard that before?
  7. I don't think it's the boarding that did him in. It falls under supplementary to the hit, so was something said? I didn't catch that play so I really don't know.
  8. Lower body injuries, though neither are severe. Both are DTD. Darche and Sopel both skated today as well. Gill stayed home today, so he's likely questionable for tomorrow as well.
  9. Gabriel Dumont gets a 10 game suspension...when it rains, it pours. http://theahl.com/ahl-announces-suspension-p170075
  10. Russell too, Hamilton has been dressing 11 forwards and 7 D the last few games and have everyone listed on their Clear Day and Residency rosters that isn't hurt already playing. If even 1 player has to get called up, they're in serious trouble. Also, HW 3 Stars now up: http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2424
  11. Potentially a bit of good news:
  12. Depends on who is available/not available between Halpern/Plekanec. Fortier is the #1 C in Hamilton right now (yes, that's sadly not a typo), Palushaj is an option to play in the top-6. As I just noted on Twitter, don't discount Wyman either, quietly having a pretty good season despite basically playing a full time checking role. Dawes is out right now, so unless he's fully healthy, he won't be getting the call.
  13. If he was actually healthy, he could. He's been out since the Marlie TV game last Sunday though.
  14. Darche is skating, so it should be sooner than later. According to the TwitterBug, Halpern was injured celebrating a goal, now there's bad luck.
  15. More bad news, Plekanec went to the room early as well. Better period at least, there were signs of life at times. Now if only those signs could last a full period.
  16. Yep, the last few minutes he was strong. But before that, I too thought he was kicking out too many bad rebounds, basically fighting the puck all night. This is one of the rare occasions I'm content with a 1-goal deficit, considering the non-goal that should have counted (that was stretching the intent rule in a big way) and the fact the Caps easily could have another one. Lots of time left to wake up though.
  17. I don't interpret it that way. Here's the tiebreaker excerpt from NHL.com's standings page: No mention of total wins, just ROW wins. I found this from TSN which also at least implies there is no separate segregation of wins in terms of total vs ROW - http://www.tsn.ca/story/?id=333809 Also (since now you've got me scrambling in case I'm wrong ), the wording of Bylaw 27.3 as referenced in the above link: The underlined part is the change for this season. Division winners, then points, then ROW, not total wins which is to the Habs' benefit. http://www.bizofhock...-news&Itemid=51
  18. I didn't take Via's letter as a threat, but rather voicing concern. Unlike Air Canada who have basically painted themselves into a corner, I think Via can slink away, so to speak.
  19. 1 defensive guy on each line...interesting.
  20. Arnott's officially a no-go for this one, he's not on the road trip. Poti, Backstrom, and Varlamov are all on the trip but also not likely to play, while Green's out for another week minimum. Nice to see there are some other teams in the East battling through injuries. Jay Beagle will probably take Arnott's spot in the lineup. For the Habs, Cammalleri will play, negating the need to either dress 7 d-men or make an emergency recall (likely Palushaj) out of Hamilton. Reported Washington lines: Ovechkin - Laich - Semin Sturm - Johansson - Knuble Chimera - Beagle - Fehr Hendricks - Gordon - Bradley
  21. There's no real official GDT stuff as to who does it, it's just the unwritten rule of the board to make it that if you win, you do the next one. If not, someone else does...it's just fallen on us to do it most of the year.
  22. That's the response you get when asked to justify why heavy sack beatings are up a whopping 900%. (I saw the episode the other day.) Both stats (the 900% sack beatings and the missing 5% of concussions) are out there.
  23. Zero video evidence and zero math skills to boot, the 4 'categories' added up to 95%. The other 5% apparently was left off due to a 'lack of evidence'...not buying that one especially since it wasn't in the original report.
  24. The league is looking into the incident. Of course, it begs the question: Can a reputation go downhill if its already hit rock bottom?
