  1. The Habs are reportedly front runners for Dustin Penner according to TFP. http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/edm110222.html
  2. One note is that you'll have to get to 100 posts before you can post HTML (a forum setting). You're only 22 away so it shouldn't take too long.
  3. Both teams can agree to mutually terminate a contract with no cap penalty (Lukas Krajicek in Philly last year, Jon Sim and Andrew Peters among others this year). Can't see Redden giving up that much money (there's no buyout on $125 waivers) though. Rangers can hope all the want, but it ain't happening. As for Gomez, no, you cannot change or re-negotiate contracts. If you buy out/release a player, said player cannot re-sign for a full calendar year after. So the scenario you've proposed, though desirable, is illegal.
  4. Or maybe they just don't like Hagman, he's down to the 4th line in Calgary now. That's a hefty price tag if indeed his better days are behind him.
  5. He's the guy that beat out Hamrlik for the Czech Olympic team last year, that says a lot to me.
  6. I did last week too. One of the more underrated d-men in the league, in my opinion.
  7. I use Microsoft FrontPage to do the GDT's. If you have that program, I can e-mail or PM you the code that I use.
  8. Hagman clears, not yet assigned to Abbotsford. This means the Flames probably don't have a move they needed to clear out the space for.
  9. Ditto for Kaberle with Boston and he didn't go for a mid pick.
  10. If all that Ottawa is guaranteed is a 5th, I can't help but wonder if they'd decide to keep Phillips. The optics of dealing him for what could be at best a mid 3rd round pick would be lousy.
  11. In what round? Or what are the multiple conditions? A conditional 3rd that becomes a 2nd in 2012 if the Habs re-sign him, something to that effect?
  12. You know who's latest: How much would you give up for a rental who you know you have no shot at re-signing, and knowing whatever return is directly going to help a division rival?
  13. They wouldn't have had the space to claim both Hagman and Souray. The Habs have around $3.3 million in space (Spacek could raise that but nothing's confirmed), Hagman's $3M would eliminate basically all their remaining space. If he was waived at the deadline, I'd be a lot more inclined rather than to lock in here.
  14. Yep, LTIR is LTIR. Philly is doing so right now with Lapieriere and also I believe with Pronger earlier this season. They've done it before with Mike Rathje as well I think. Habs just wouldn't get the cap relief is Spacek either retired or was sent to the AHL.
  15. Nothing in OT, Bulldogs lose in a shootout. They're now in a 3-way tie for the division lead. http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1008177
  16. Spacek done for the season? CJAD the only one that I know of reporting it so far, though they're citing a Buffalo source. If true, he's eligible for LTIR; his cap hit would be tacked on to whatever the current number is (I've had to change it so many times, even I forget now...it's on the site though). Source: http://www.cjad.com/...ntryID=10207590 Couple of notes on Wisniewski in there as well, saying he does have fractures but can play through them.
  17. Heading to OT, at least one point is in hand.
  18. That lead didn't last long, Callahan on the PP to tie it at 3.
  19. James Neal and Matt Niskanen dealt to the Pens for Alex Goligoski. Solid deal for the Pens, a young scoring winger. I've always liked Niskanen too. Goligoski should be a good fit in Dallas as well, as they don't really have a good offensive defenceman...until now.
  20. St. Denis scores on the PP (2-man) to give Hamilton their first lead of the game! Goal was credited to Klubertanz, Derek and Al were completely speechless for about 10 seconds...pretty funny.
  21. Can't help but wonder if that's an inside joke - maybe some called Cammalleri that when he played in Calgary. Not sure there's a lot to read into there.
  22. Ouch, I was unaware of that. I knew he was a solid prospect, but 4 concussions aren't pretty. Thanks for the note on him.
  23. Bonneau banks one in, his first point of the year! Funny enough, it came mere seconds after Derek mentioned he was still looking for a point.
