  1. OK...so Ivanans has no "skill" with finding the back of the net. He does have skill in bringing a physical presence to the ice. We needed a big guy to hit and scare other players-he will do that. BIGMAN is back and hopefully to stay! I say we win 2 of the next 3 games! Fearless prediction!
  2. As far as I'm concerned- Great news...we've been lacking toughness all year. Finally we have some size that can pound opponents(even if it's with bodychecks). Downey was a good start but I feel Ivan brings more to the table. Any feedback is welcomed!
  3. I wonder if BG remembers the days he was playing in Montreal and he was on a line with himself,Carbo and Nilan. Now I wonder if BG remembers his feeling of being "protected" while he was on the ice. My question(or statement) is does anyone else think BG will bring in an enforcer? I know the NHL is different now, but teams still have muscle to put out there if needed whereas we do not. Any feelings?
  4. Trade to get Tuomo Ruutu- he'd be a welcome addition to my team anyways.
  5. Am I the only one who thinks the Habs are getting out-hit and some what pushed around? We need some muscle brought in(our up). I guess Santa lost my list. Perhaps I should have asked for 3 twenty goal scorers instead of a goon.
  6. I'm in....is this what you want?:/)
  7. Lister, you are my new best friend. You seem to be the only guy with the same mentality as me. 100% agreed that when BIGMAN is in we play a lot bigger as a team...finishing checks and taking jabs after the plays. I'm not saying it HAS to be Ivanans that we have in the lineup but I don't think Vandy is our guy. I know Aitken knocked 2 guys out two yrs ago(one with a left and one with a right) and I was stoked when we signed him. Ivanans MUST be brought back ,if not to amend his "loss" to Chara then to perk up our squad. I hope that the Gods(Gainey/Julien) read this site and will listen to some of the more brilliant fans here!:/)
  8. Why are the Habs to blame- don't we share this club with Edmonton-are they not supplying players as well????
  9. Kaos, it's like I say about beers- better to be lookin at em than to be lookin for em!
  10. Kaos, you forgot Kordic. Just because Ivanans is 27 you say he has no business in the NHL- Sure he won't see a regular shift but how many enforcers do? You also say he lost his only fight but I assume you aren't including pre-saeson. From what I heard he went with McGratton and they were both bloodied after a great toe to toe exchange. If you think he has no skills then I ask you to whom do we turn to when things get rough.I hope you don't say Souray or Komi.....We need a GOON!
  11. I said it after we played Tampa Bay,Vandy went with Mitch Fritz( he's like 6'8") and it was like he was rag-dolled. No way Fritzy would do that to our BIGMAN. You just don't throw a 263lb guy around. Vandy also took some costly penalties. At least BIGMAN took Chara off with him.
  12. Noticed that BIGMAN fought again last night. Anyone have info on whether he won it? Anyone else think we need a guy like that? I personally can't wait for him or any other muscle!:ghg:
  13. Bring in some damn muscle- When are we going to get Ivanans or Vandy ....At this point Worrell(who is palying in the echl) looks good to me. You can't tell me a guy like Ribs or Pleks wouldn't be happy with some protection!!!
  14. I don't know if he's supposed to be fighting or not, if he play in Montreal he will have to do so without a visor. I'm praying that they call him up again. I'm tired of seeing games where our boys stay out of the corners and seem to back down from any physical confrontations(with the exception of Souray-only because he actually dropped the gloves with Gary Roberts....even though there was no scrap)
  15. Looks like he's had 2 fights in 2 games. I still have not heard how well he did but good to see. Perhaps it's time to bring him back up. Any one else feel like we need some muscle?:/)
  16. Toss Fedoruk into the deal and I'm sold- we get a good D-man and a tough guy! We can give them Dags for Fedoruk!
  17. So we drop 2 games in a row- I assume we will all hear how Theo has to go,Souray for a used jock strap,Gainey must go........Let's be serious. What changes to the lineup need to be addressed? Mr. Streit had a brutal game Sat. and I was thinking of Hainsey. Anyone else feel he deserves a shot out there? Komi not in the lineup...I think he's been solid so far. Souray needs to clear his head so why not sit him for a game or 2. I don't think we need a trade with what we have in the system but i do think we ware missing a few parts to the puzzle. 1) toughness- not a goon but how about some hits? Am I the only one who see's the NHL as older Pee Wee players- remember when going into the corners was a job and a half? Now it seems like the players are afraid to break a nail.:hlogo:
  18. Nov 13 2001- Chara scrapped with Chris Simon. Simon defin. gets the edge. Dec 3/01 Chara and Scott Parker- Parker landed more and got in the better punches ***I'm not saying these were one sided knockouts or anything but what I am saying is that even Chara has lost fights. It is hard to comprehend because of his reach and size advantage but all it takes is a quick solid shot! I search out for the fight sites and read em all
  19. Hey CoRvInA, Henry's pretty tough- If you're risking a beating at least make it for getting"wild" with his chick!
  20. Like I said, any punch can change any fight- if Ivanans had smashed Chara's face we'd all be riding the BIGMAN train. Every single fighter has at one time or another has lost- I personally consider myself an expert on hockey scraps and I 've seen all the big guys lose at one point. Ivanans will be back and when he does, I hope he proves himself with a big knockout or dominant fight. Jonathan Aitken had 2 fights 2 yrs ago and I saw him drop both guys(1 with a left and the other with a right) and 2 weeks later he got pounded. Any solid punch will change the dynamics of a fight. I just want someone on the team that will protect our smaller guys. Begin is not the answer there. He is tough but not fight-wise. Souray can do it but why risk his wrist and have him in the box for 5 min.- Komi did well with Brash and I wouldn't mind seeing him do it a bit more. Just remember you heard it here-Ivanans will be back and will be a force to be reckoned with! Peace out and GO HABS GO- Let's win another without Kovalev and show everyone just how good we are!!!:can:
  21. Eric Cairns is one bad mo-fo.Top 5 for sure. McGratton has done very well this year. So has Colton Orr for the Broooooons. I still say that Ivanans can take Chara because any punch can change a fight!!!:ghg:
  22. If it's true, then I see it as terrible news. I've said from day 1 that we need a "scary" player in the line-up. I realize that fighting is down all across the NHL but you will always have a need for someone willing AND able(don't know if Raitis is) to go. So he lost a scrap against one of the biggest the league has to offer. If Worrel is past his personal problems, I'd sign him but to a cheap contract. I've heard he would never play for the Habs though. Bring back Nilan!
  23. I'd say it's great news. I think when we get a heavyweight on the ice we will be even better. Play him against the tougher teams and scratch him for the passive teams. I want to see some ass kicking!:/)
  24. OK, so 3 pages of replies and still no news on some form of update on BigMan's return. We see Buffalo twice this weekend and I know we could use him but I know it's still too early. Who is going to handle Peters? Komi did ok against Brash but that isn't really where we want Komi to spend 5 min. Some of you think we don't need a "goon" but with the games we have coming up,(2 against Toronto,4 >Sabres in the next month) we will need some muscle. Any input?? Bring up Vandy?? And I am still waiting for my Ivanans update!:hlogo:
