  1. I was just thinking about why would a player take a 8 year deal? A lot can happen in 8 years. Plus players could be making more then you if rev goes up. I think the max I would take for I was a player would be 5 years. If the team doesn't comment to winning then I still have options, if rev goes up I can cash in and make more. whats your take? Do you take the full max and the money? Or do you give yourself an out and only take 5 years.
  2. Yeah from some of the response I see fans will never accept a full rebuild. I could imagine how the media would react. I guess that's why this organization is behind in times, and why we haven't and probably won't win a cup any time soon.
  3. Did some of you even read the title of my post??? It's not talking about rebuilding now, it's talking about 5 years from now when price is 34. That's the age of when the decline In a player starts. And at that time when it comes to thinking about trading him and rebuilding would fans and media accept a full on rebuild. Or are they just happy with the bandaid jobs to keep the team in the playoffs moves that always seem to happen here?
  4. I say 5 years because that's when price turns 34. That's the age were I think it would be time to part ways with him and rebuild this team. You can trade him before he is to old and get a good return for him. That's if he is still a good goaltender at this time. the blue print to rebuild in the NHL is to get as much top draft picks as you can by finishing in the bottom or dead last for about 3-4 years, and get as much young good talent as you can. but when the time comes would fans and the media allow this in Montreal? I think the fans will, but not sure about the media in Montreal. We all know how they think they run the team.
  5. You don't need to worry about anything EK reports about the habs, it never comes true.
  6. Can we stop with this already !! it is over and done , get over it or just stop being a habs fan and start being a Nashville fan already my god. Oh and by the way just to push your buttons on this how come PK never gets pick for team Canada if he is the best and a God ???
  7. That's cool feel free to send me an invite once they open up. Bigger leagues makes for more trading also which I love to do.
  8. I am open to doing any type of free league just for the fun of it. Makes the season more interesting. But I like to do leagues with a lot of teams so you do t get teams that are too stacked.
  9. I know it's early and the drafts aren't open yet but anyone want to do a league with our names we use on this site? Was thinking of making it interesting and doing a 20 team league. I think you can make 20 teams if I remember correctly. This way there would be no stacked teams and guys would really need to know there players. Should be fun and interesting . when the draft opens up I will make another post. But if we could get 20 teams would be fun.
  10. He was leading all D in points at the time of his injury. They only played 45 games that year. He was out to a fast start and by fare the best D tell he went down. PK that year I do believe was 2nd or 3rd at the time in points. But Eric would of won the Norris.
  11. You do know the year he won the Norris it was a lock out year and karlsson was going to win tell he got injured.
  12. That's what I was trying to point out in my post. Hockey's a team sport. One player doesn't make a team.
  13. We had subban on this team for a full season and we missed the playoffs and finished 9th last. So don't think that he was the reason why Nashville went to the cup finals.
  14. My point I am trying to make is this..... for an organization that's needed centers they were there to be had when we drafted, but for some reason we went in a different direction. So who do you point the finger at? GM? Scouts ? Timmins? This organization has ignored the center potions for the past 20 years why? It's what hunts us tell this day.
  15. 2003 draft we took kostitsyn over a center passed on carter, getzlaf, kesler, richards, that's round 1. Round 2 we took urquhart. Passed on Bergeron 2004 draft we took chipchura passed on zajac 2006 draft we took fischer passed on giroux, 2009 draft we drafted Leblanc to make the fans happy. Passed on johansson 2010 draft we took tinordi. Passed on kuznetsov, Nelson for a organization that needs a center and says there not there in the spots we pick at in the draft, we sure passed on a lot. This is all when bob was GM. To early tell on the picks with MB.
  16. What's even more mind blowing is all the elite centers that we have passed on in the draft that we could of drafted over the years, The names are crazy. We just don't address our needs at the draft and keep drafting project players in the 1st rounds that could be pick in the later rounds. Since our development is bad they never pan out.
  17. The funny thing is if you look at the list of centers we have past on in the draft over the past 20 years that were there when we picked and are now elite players in this league it's mind blowing. And how many players we picked a head of them aren't even in the league. This from a team that has needed a center over the last 20 years.
  18. Yeah but my point is they addressed there need which was at center. With that trade he became there #1 guy, then they added depth behind him. Something we never did. If they didn't make the trade with us I think they still make the cup finals with or without weber. But hey we could keep going back and forth here for days lol.
  19. Yeah johanasson was traded to make cap space so they could sign kuznetsov who we should of draft because we needed a center and not over reach on a D(because of his size)
  20. I agree I am ok with trading your best chip to fills holes else where. Like if we made the Edmonton deal and got the 4th pick and draisaitl for PK. I would of been ok with that because we could of flip the pick for a puck moving D to replace PK. But to do a 1 for 1 D move made absolute no sense. we just seem to keep taking one step forward and 5 steps backwards.
  21. They got him half way through the season. His first full season they make the cup finals. In today's NHL it's about being strong down the middle of the ice.
  22. Nashville biggest move was addressing a need which was a number 1 center. They traded from strength which was on D to get it. Johansen for jones. That's what put them almost over the top.
  23. It has nothing to with cap space. Just spending the money smartly. If people thing giving a 38 year old with bad legs and who is slow 6m over 2 years smart. just because we need him, well then we will never win a cup.
  24. So you would over pay for a guy because you need him??? That's how we got weber. MB though we needed him to get us over the top. But in fact we probably didn't need him as much as we need a true #1 play making center. And if he realize this that trade probably never happens.
  25. Yeah I been saying from day 1 this is my biggest issue with the organization. I don't mind if we don't sign the sexy names come July 1st or make the big trades at the deadline if we had young impact full players ready for full time NHL roster spots. But we don't, which is why we need to sign the bigger names July 1st but we never do.
