Chucky Eller and Semin (or who ever) "is suppose to be a scoring line" Wishful thinking at best. So much so that at powerplay time the line gets broken up and Chucky becomes winger on DD line. Why is that? Because with Eller and Semin the coahes are not thinking "scoring line" When Chuckys line (he has played with 7 wingers in the first 20 games) scores its a bonus. They are in fact the third line. DD line, and Pleks line are the "scoring lines" But Chucky with 3, Eller with 6, Semin 1 and the rest with none. 10 Goals. 40 goals pace from the third line. That is low. But nobody is giving MB a winger, and he is not giving anything to get one..............so far.

Dont know where you live but around here I have never heard one fan call Eller an "impact offensive player" And back then, today or in the future on Halaks best day he would not, could not ever be traded for "impact offensive player" . To think other wise i agree, is pure "fantasy" Larry is not over achieving or under achieving. Those who think so should yes...."get over it"

Ha! Looks good the loafs. Just goes to show you, millions of fans can only get suckered in by ridiculous prices for a loser franchise for so many decades.

Same guys that knock Eller non stop want a sniper for him in return. In this watered down league the talent is spread so thin that every team in the league has a ton of guys that are potential 20 goal guys, and play a role. Defense first. There is only so much scoring to be done. If you are not top six with pp time, good luck hitting 20 goals. For all intents and purposes Larry and the revolving winger are getting 3rd line duty. Chucky gets pp time on another line. lol.. Funny how some fans want larry to score like a first liner or he is a bust. We traded Halak the back up for him. What do you expect 30 goals a year?

whip, whip, whip maybe like DD in the play offs.............this will be Larrys reg season year.

I never said he has earned or should be on the powerplay. I merely pointed out that hey, for a guy that plays where he plays he has six goals. For 3.5 mill a year, playing pk, riding shot gun to a young green center , playing with a new winger every game..... I don't expect much more, and I certainly ain't gonna rip the guy or trade him for his lack of assists. But hey that's me. On pace for 25 even goals. Nothing to sneeze at.

I hear ya but "top six" production anywhere else includes powerplay time. Eller is one of the only "top six" forwards that sits for entire powerplays. He is basically a third liner. I would look in the mirror if I was on the first line/PP and this guy is beating more goalies than I am.

Chucky must be thrilled at the wingers he is getting. How many has he had already? Chucky a winger on another line for the pp. So not much of a chance of him and Eller clicking there. I'll give Larry points for this. Not counting empty net goals he is out scoring Plekanic. Without the luxury pp time and top line mates that Pleks has. Not too shabby. Larry

I too loved Saku. Only bright spots I can recall? The line of Corson, Koivu, Riecchi ripping it up in 97/98. They were all three in the top ten scorers when Saku blew his knee out. The first in a slew of injuries for the heart and soul player. The year we lost to the canes in 06. We were leading that series 2-0 when in game 3 Saku had his eye taken out by Justin Williams on a wreck less high stick. Gone for the year. That Canes team that we were on the verge of taking out, went on to beat some mediocre teams and win the cup. I always liked Markov through those lean years as well. Theadore for a short stint. I vaguely remember beating the Pens in a play off series where Any Moog was in net for the Habs. (98 or 99 I think) Habs missed the play offs for 4 outta 5 years then hired Gainey. Then we made the play offs the next 4 outta 5 years. Here we are now. Been a long road to contending again. MB and Gainey combined in putting this contender together. Bout %$&$!# time!

If you take politics out of the decision then yes, it would be moronic to take him out of the line up. We will see management is prepared to walk to walk about a guy coming up and earning a spot...getting the spot? With Tinordi it was his inconsistent and generally weak play. He has been given the opportunity and management feels he has not played well. So Pateryn has. So one would expect him to stay. But Emelin was given big bucks and not playing him looks bad. Coach likes Gilbert. Nate is better (in his sleep) with Petry than Emelin is. Interesting to see how this plays out.

Pateryn has not been on the ice for a single goal against since coming in for the injured Emelin.

Ouch. They were tough years.
