The game itself stinks. Has for years. Why do ya think it gets changed every year, with more and more goofy stuff added around the game then taken away again. Now its an entire week end of smoozing and bad coverage by TSN groupies. Hey are they doing the school yard picking of teams this year...lol. Or was that another one off? Great event for sponsors, suits, and groupies though.

30 Thoughts: Canadiens More than a One Man Team

Semin after his play prior to coming here, has a much shorter leash I think. -
Two teams, numerous sports casters and a ton of fans had written Semin off. It was no gamble. It was dream. I can live with lack of depth at right wing (for now) , What I dont like is that Chucky is the one who gets burned most by a the right wing problem. Till the Habs get a real one, he gets the "hey he's cheap, whats to lose". I say give Gally to Chucky and let the captain and Pleks carry the stiff for a while.

As far as Pacs goes, "Davey is the best center I ever played with" Yep, DD is better than Pleks and Gomez. I agreed with Max. Dont know the stars Weiss has been playing with but I don't doubt they do not have the talent DD has. Great 3rd line/2nd line center. Bout time the coach played him that way. -

First full season i meant. Should have clarified that. Yes , i live in Hamilton and watched NB play great here. On the powerplay too. It sucked when he left btw. But hey, PK is a superstar. I get it. MT wants to use him as much as possible. And with all that ice time and pp time....this season he has as many goals as Semin. Sarcasm. Two pp units is the way to go. Don't have to be Scotty Bowman to know that. -

NB is in his first season. You gonna right him off the pp , or improve him on it by playing him. We have no depth at RW, so should Gally play the entire two minutes? -

PK has played all the full ten of the last 5 powerplays ..... that has gone 0 for 5. Hows that working for ya? Petry and NB are a capable second unit. Give them time they mean even improve Ya think? -

Subban plays full two minutes on pp , finally gets to bench just in time for yotes to score off the rush. -

Agree hundred per cent. Used Hossa as an example the other day. -
ha! Yes signing Semin just brought even more attention to the the right wing dilemma. But now that he is signed , i would think he will get more games to try and improve his play. He has played all well, but his competition is nothing to write home about either. The cap might bring parity. But its a sad day when the mighty Montreal Canadiens cant ice a team with four decent right wingers.

True about the ratings. Why do they watch it ? As Castanza would say "because its on TV" I hear Dog the Bounty Hunter had good ratings too.

Sure he does. Not all but some of them. I would agree all those guys have a great shot....and they use it. Davey? Shoots as a last resort. -
We used to do that with the kids house league during Christmas time for fun. How original. But to be fair, short of dropping the all star game and just giving the players a short hoilday ......... you cant do anything with this spectacle that will interest anybody out side of the city that is hosting it. Last time i tuned into an all star game Gretzky was still playing.

Gallagher was our best forward in the play offs last season. Cammy had the best play off of any hab in recent memory. Gionta untill late in his career always delivered at play off time. St Louis ripped it up when clutching and grabbing was way worse than today. Marchand scored 5 goals in the finals alone. Kane has been the MVP of the play offs twice. Johnson in Tbay aint all that big and lead all scorers last years play offs did he not. Playing injured too boot. I'm sure DD would be the first to say he uses his size to his advantage and it is not holding him back.
