  1. There you go . . . you're drinking problem ( after the Vancouver game )has clouded the expectations of the recent play of Price. Once one lowers their expectations then the bar may not be as high for them. Enablers make excuses for many kinds of abuses. Price is not at 50% of the level he was when he first fought with Huet to be the rotation. Fleury reported the Flames knew of his problems as he failed testing a couple of times. BG must know ,otherwise why would Martin make the trip in the summer to talk to Price in person. Remember for BG Price is the face of the franchise . Two coach's , Julien and Carbonneau have been fired by Gainey for wanting to sit Price in the pressbox. He is Gainey's pet project. And would lose face with the new owners if he gave in now.

Saturday try viewing without a drink you may see the true Price rather than your imaginary one.

Julien was fired for sitting Theodore in the pressbox, not Price.

  2. Not the greatest sim, but I went .500 and suffered no more injuries!

6-1 loss to Tampa Bay. Not too happy about this. Special teams were off and it seems like the whole team forgot to show up. The Rustlers lost their game too, but at least it was to a respectable score of 3-2.

3-1 win over New Jersey. Nice to see the team play a solid game after the previous embarrassment. The Rustlers played a strong game, winning by a landslide 7-1.

Next week will be interesting though. I face a divisional rival who I'm chasing in the standings, one of the best teams in the league, and my old team. Can't wait!

  3. Another question. Kyle Calder is out for like eternity and is on the IR...but he's bitching about not getting enough playing time. I've never seen this happen before, is there a way to placate him or am I just going to have to listen to him whine all season?

  4. Wait wait... we're allowed to schedule more than one EP a SIM??? :o So now I can schedule an EP on Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day? WHAHHHAHAT? Awesome.

I could be wrong...but haven't you asked this before? >.>

I wouldnt recommend it. I simmed ahead to see what it'd do, and got this:

    Best. Post. Eva.

I don't know, his Kayne West post last night was pretty epic too.

  5. I was in rebuilding mode my second (and technically final) year with the Isles. I traded away most of my vets, but at the same time my team wasn't completely bereft of talent. I had a pretty solid d-corps, an excellent goalie and a good shutdown line. I didn't win a lot of games, but I played spoiler on occasion and rarely got blown out. A lot of games were close and I seem to recall a lot of OT losses/ties. Also, I rarely had players slumping. I scheduled a lot of EPs and that helped a lot.

  6. HUGE sim, especially after losing the team captain last week!

3-0 win over Columbus. Improves my personal record against the mighty West to 3-2-0-0. Special teams were key in this game again, shutting down the Jackets' chances and potting one to guarantee the win. The Rustlers dropped their game though, 3-1.

5-4 win over the Rag$. Special teams were the difference again. Concerned that the Bruins keep giving up late goals to allow comebacks by the opposition however. Daigneault rose to the occasion though and got the all important W and the two points to go with it. Meanwhile the Rustlers beat out the Maroons with the exact same score, notching three unanswered goals to win it.

5-4 win over Buffalo. Finished off the week with another win, and another nailbiter. Powerplay still clicked, but the pk nearly cost us the game. The Rustlers blew out their opposition 8-1 in AHL action.

All in all, not going to complain about going undefeated. The Bruins now have the second most lethal powerplay in the league and the third best penalty kill. Not too bad considering when I got the team they were in the basement in both categories.

  7. FREAKING INJURIES! Four in one sim is ridiculous. :puke:

4-4 tie against Washington. Should have won this one, had a two goal lead with seven minutes to go... The injury to Cliche probably didn't help things though. My PK continued to click, giving up only one goal on nine opportunities. In AHL game action, the Rustlers managed a 3-2 win.

4-3 OT loss to Washington. Cliche was back in action, but his presence wasn't enough to catapult the team to victory. The Rustlers lost this one too, 3-2.

3-0 win over Atlanta. Pretty much completely dominated this one, all three goals coming on the powerplay. The Rustlers got pwned though, 6-1 and lost two of their star players to injuries.

6-5 OT win versus Pittsburgh. This game should have never gone to overtime, as again the team squandered a two goal lead. Nice to see Mueller pot the winner though, with his linemate Calder watching the game from the trainer's room. The Rustlers lost again, 3-0 this time around.

    285/14 = 20 games

David Friedman pulled a Bobby Clarke on Kyle "Kharlamov" Calder after he scored a powerplay goal, injuring Boston's star player for 285 days, which should result in a 20 game suspension for the cheapshot artist.

  9. Only two drafts and almost enough for a full roster...although only half of an NHL-calibre one.

    Jiri Tlusty-Merlin Eng-Johan Lindt

    Miika Hollo-Phillipe Wetzel-Justin St-Amant

    Miika Sulander-Hannu Mikkola-Sobeslav Kraus

    ???-???-???

    Mikael Niemi-Sakari Korhonen

    Cam Amonte-Juho Sulin

    ???-???

    Ilkka Jokinen

  10. Is a tl;dr a summary?

Issue 1: Some teams have lots of great staff. Some teams don't.

Issue 2: No one would ever fire a coach mid-season (the way they do in real life) because we don't have any great UFA coaches to upgrade them with.

The proposition is to limit the number of coaches per team. Something like 1 head coach, 3 assistant coaches, 1 physio, 1 superscout, infinite scouts. Same restrictions for the AHL.

Also possibly additional maximums placed on the quality of staff allowed in the AHL.

    That's the general idea.

Yeah, tl;dr means too long; didn't read.

Issue 1: I remember that being a problem back when I was first in the league. I'm all for spreading the wealth. Just look at my avatar.

Issue 2: Yeah, I think it'd be cool if we could do things like that. Would add some realism to the league.

I have no problems with that limit. I usually only use one head coach, one assistant coach and one physio per team (NHL and AHL) anyways. So yeah, I'm all for it Streamer, although I do agree with Trizz's concerns about it taking effect next season.
